He died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 and after 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31.
William Virgil Smith, Sr.
78; WWII veteran
William Virgil Smith, Sr., 78, of Jeffersonville, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Jeffersonivlle, an Army veteran of World War II and a retired heavy equipment operator for Klempner Brothers Inc. in Louisville. He was a member of the Pentacostal Holiness Church in Jeffersonville.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie Smith; a son, William Virgil Smith, Jr., Jeffersonville; a step son, Randall Morgan, Jeffersonville; three daughters, Patricia, Tawanda and Phyllis Smith, all of Jeffersonville; a step daughter, Jo Ann Perat, Jeffersonville; two sisters, Roberta Newbolth and Jean Rankin, both of Jeffersonville; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29. Cremation has been chosen.
Evaleigh Bair Stillhammer
93; of Nabb
Funeral services for Evaleigh Bair Stillhammer, 93, of Nabb, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, with burial in New Bethel Cemetery. She died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at the Waters of Clifty Falls.
She was a native of Jefferson County, Ind. and a member of Paynesville Christian Church.
Survivors include her sons, Audron Stillhammer and his wife, Peggy, and Eldon Stillhammer, all of Nabb; and a granddaughter, Marlena Nantz and her husband, Clem, Lexington.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 28, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services for Gloria J. Price, 64, of Henryville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Henryvlle Community Church, with burial in Bowery Cemetery
in Memphis. She died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Norton Hospice Pavillion.
Visitation at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 28.
Celeste 'Sue' Bierly
69; of New Albany
Funeral services for Celeste 'Sue' Bierly, 69, of New Albany, will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Garr Funeral Service in Sellersburg. She died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Wedgewood Nursing Facility.
She was the former Celeste Mae Emory and a native of Daisy Hill. She was a member of the Daisy Hill Methodist Church in Borden, the Order of the Eastern Star in Borden, the New Albany Ladies Auxiliary VFW #3281 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bonnie Slone American Legion Post #28.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Corabelle Emory; her stepfather, Charlie Mathews and her husband, Otis Bierly.
Survivors include a daughter, Darita Kay Bierly Roche, New Albany; a son in law, James Lee Roche, New Albany and her caregiver, Joyce Akers, New Albany.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29. Cremation has been chosen.
Carl F. Moore, Jr.
82; of New Albany
Funeral services for Carl F. Moore, Jr., 82, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery
in New Albany. He died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of New Albany, a 1941 graduate of New Albany High School, an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II and retired from Ford Motor Co. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the American Legion Bonnie Slone Post #28, Cardinal Ritter Knights of Columbus and the Father Baden Assembly 4th Degree Knight's of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances Love Moore and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Sr. and Martha Glover Moore and his brother, Donald Moore.
Visitation at the Spring Street location of Kraft Funeral Service will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes. Association.

Funeral services for Jeanette E. Smith, 83, of Mauckport, Ind., will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Fern Creek Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. She died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at Sellersburg Health and Rehab Center in Sellersburg.
She was a native of Jefferson County, Ky. and was born on Feb. 19, 1921, the daughter of John T. and Elizabeth Rumiz Grant. She was a devoted wife and mother, a member of Valley City Presbyterian Church, National Farmers Organization and Royal Neighbors of America at Central, Ind.
Survivors include her sons, John T. Smith, Louisville and Alvin "Sonny" Smith Jr. and wife, Sandy, Clarksville; daughters, Catherine Lillpop and husband, Roy, Louisville, Bonny Rumpel and husband, Bob, Sellersburg, Judy Shireman and husband, Charlie, Central, Ind., Edith "Elivira" Adamson and husband, Charles, Corydon, Ellen Pfeffer and husband, Fred, Louisville and Melissa Smith and husband, Deen, Mauckport; a sister, Ethel Wiedemer, Louisville; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Smith Sr.; a grandson; three brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation at the Fern Creek Funeral Home in Louisville will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 28. Visitation at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon was held Monday.
