Funeral services for Leonard Allen Sr., 90, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Saturday, Dec. 11 2004, at his home.
He was retired from Colgate Palmolive Co. and also from the old A&P Grocery Store. He was a former precinct committeeman and a member of the Blackiston Mill Bowling League. He was also active in many community affairs.
Survivors include three sons, James E. Allen, Louisville and Marvin L. Allen Sr. and Leonard Allen Jr., Jeffersonville; four daughters, Margaret E. Scrivner, New Albany and Phyllis J. Cameron, Janice M. Stephenson and Darlene Y. Jones, Jeffersonville; a brother-in-law, William D. Starks, Jeffersonville; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the church will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church, Jeffersonville.

Jane Mix
52; native of Paducah, Ky.
A memorial service for Jane Mix, 52, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Main Cross Baptist Church, Charlestown. She died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Paducah, Ky. and an instructor at Rescare, Charlestown.
Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Mix; a son, Jason Mix, Jeffersonville; two daughters, Kathleen Asher, Clarksville and Samantha Jones, Charlestown; parents, Guy and Dorothy Newton Sr., Pompano Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Clara Todero, Pompano Beach, Fla. and Linda McMurdo, Weaversville, N.C.; two brother, Guy Newton Jr., Weaversville, N.C. and Philip Newton, Harrodsburg and a grandson.
The body was cremated with Coots Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Indiana.
Octavia Redd
97; homemaker
Funeral services for Octavia Redd, 97, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Coots Funeral Home with burial in Eastern Cemetery. She died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Parkway Medical Center in Louisville.
She was a native of Red Banks, Miss., and a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosetta S. Joe, Jeffersonville; a brother, Sidney Wells, Jeffersonville, four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester B. Wells, Moore Wells, Reese Wells and Beverly Wells.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17.
Deborah Kay Couch
46; of Clarksville
Funeral services for Deborah Kay Couch, 46, of Clarksville, were held at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 13, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial at Mount Zion Cemetery. She died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at her home.
She was the former Deborah K. Reliford, a native of Louisville and a member of Faith Assembly Church, Jeffersonville. She was a USO volunteer during Operation Southern Watch in 1993 and 1994 in Manama, Bahrain.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Couch; a son, Zachory Couch, Clarksville; a daughter, Kara and husband Tommy Cole Jr., New Washington; father J.C. Reliford, Sellersburg; mother, Opal Reliford , Sellersburg; two brothers, Michael Reliford, Louisville and Timothy Reliford, Memphis; a sister, Linda Branham, Jeffersonville and a granddaughter.
Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home and after 11 a.m. today.
Don Griffin
86; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Don Griffin, 86, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday ,Dec. 14, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, with burial in New Chapel Cemetery. He died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Farm Bureau and a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge of Utica.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Barker and husband, Don, Jeffersonville; a son, Dan Griffin and wife, Sarah, Houston, Texas; a sister, Jeffie Cartwright, Owensboro, Ky.; four grandchildren, David Barker and wife, Lisa, New Albany, Darren Barker, Louisville, Lynn Pierce, Jeffersonville and Beth Griffin, Louisville and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 13.
Mary Owens Lowe
65; ICI Americas retiree
Funeral services for Mary Owens Lowe, 65, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Calvary Apostolic Church, 621 Mechanic St., Jeffersonville, with interment in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died on Dec. 10, 2004.
She was a native of Cementville and a retiree of ICI Americas.
Survivors include four sons, William Jr., Bobby, Antonio and Dondeago, all of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Brenda Bendson, New Albany and Elvira Ivy Lowe, Jeffersonville; a brother, Walter Lee Owens, Jeffersonville and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Lowe Sr.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the church.

Rev. Father Germain Belen,
Roman Catholic priest
A Mass of Christian burial for Rev.. Father Germain Belen, OFM Conv., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Mount Saint Francis Chapel, with burial in the Friars Cemetery. He died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at the Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a Roman Catholic Priest having professed his vows on Aug. 2, 1948 and was ordained on June 3, 1950. Father Belen served in numerous assignments for the Franciscan community over his many years of services.
Survivors include his sister, Sister Mary Janice Belen, RSM of Lansing, Mich.; several cousins and his Franciscan community.
His wake will be at the Mount Saint Francis Chapel beginning at 4 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 13, until his service on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
Expressions of sympathy should take the form of contributions to Franciscan Missions, 101 St. Anthony Drive, Mount St. Francis, IN 47146.
Marjorie E. Johnson
71; native of Columbia, Ky.
Funeral services for Marjorie E. Johnson, 71, of New Albany, were held at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 13, at First Baptist Church, 813 E. Spring St., New Albany, with burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was the former Marjorie E. Pyles, a native of Columbia, Ky. and a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Lynne Huffman, Jeffersonville and Alice Marie Ehringer, Sellersburg; a brother, Hobert "Sonny" Pyles, Danville, Ky.; two sisters, E. Jean Bogues, Campbellsville, Ky. and Doris H. Casey, San Jose, Calif. and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary R. Smith.
Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 12, at Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel.

Wanda Sue Youtsey
61; of Georgetown
Funeral services for Wanda Sue Youtsey, 61, of Georgetown, will be held at 7 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 13, at the Georgetown Christian Church, with private burial. She died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
She was formerly owner and operator of Georgetown Trust Co. in Georgetown. She was a member of Georgetown Christian Church.
Survivors include her son, Tim Youtsey and wife, Cynthia, Georgetown; a brother, Earl Durham, Cold Water, Mich.; a sister, Imogene Burdick, Taylor, Mich.; two granddaughters, Nicole and Shelby Youtsey, both of Georgetown and a grandson, Lance Youtsey, Georgetown.
Arrangements are by Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
The family requests no flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Georgetown Christian Church Christian Life Center.
