Funeral services for Richard H. Rein, 64, of Okolona, will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 9, at Arch L. Heady, Okolona Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy., Louisville, with burial in Penn Run Memorial Park, Louisville. He died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Baptist Hospital East.
He was an outside sales representative for Republic Diesel for 45 years and was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Rein; two sons, Richard David Rein and wife, Ricki and Danny "Boone" Rein and wife, Susan; a brother, Keith Rein and wife, Dollie; a sister, Eugenia Anderson; three grandchildren, Heather, Chelcie and Samuel Richard and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Lynn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Rein.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 8.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Benjamine E. Carpenter
67; former New Albany police officer
Funeral services for Benjamine E. Carpenter, 67, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. He died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at the Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Harrison County, a retired manager for J.C. Penney, a former Police Officer for the City of New Albany Police Department and a former Town Marshall for Crothersville. He was a member of Hibernia Christian Church in Hibernia.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sue Ivey; three sons, Benjamine "Ed" E. Carpenter Jr., Pekin, Tony L. Carpenter, Clarksville and Andy Carpenter, New Albany; a sister, Jean Murphy, La Puente, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Robert Carpenter.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 and after 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9.
Vincent Anthony 'Bud' Grantz
87; former bookstore operator
Vincent Anthony "Bud" Grantz, 87, a native and former resident of New Albany, died in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He formerly worked at Standard Printing Company in Louisville and operated a bookstore in New Albany prior to moving to Santa Fe.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Crowder; a son, David Grantz, Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Jennifer McGuire, Santa Fe; and three sisters, Bertha Bottorff, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Sr. Carmelita Grantz, O.S.U., Louisville and Clara Quinkert, New Albany.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Grantz.
Funeral services will be private with Generations Funeral Home, New Albany, in charge of arrangements. Cremation was chosen.
Mabel Ruberts
formerly of Georgetown
Funeral services for Mabel Ruberts, of Georgetown, formerly of Taylor County, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, Ky., with burial in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004.

Funeral services for Douglas Powell Sharp, 47, of Georgetown, will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 9, at Fern Creek Christian Church, 9419 Seatonville Rd., Louisville, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. He died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Evergreen Funeral Home, Louisville.

Funeral services for Mary Ferne Wiseman, 73, of Mauckport, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery
near Mauckport. She died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 7, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Debra Kay Kennedy
51; of Jeffersonville
A memorial service for Debra Kay Kennedy, 51, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at The Serrot Club in Jeffersonville. She died Friday, Nov. 24, 2004. Cremation was chosen.
Visitation at the Beautiful Memories of the Serrot Club will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

Mary Belle Mooney
79; retired secretary, Clark Memorial Hospital
Funeral services for Mary Belle Mooney, 79, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Sellersburg Health & Rehab.
She was a native of Jeffersonville and a retired unit secretary for Clark Memorial Hospital. She was past president of American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol A. Jackson, Jeffersonville; a son, Michael L. Mooney, Fern Creek, Ky.; five grandchildren, Leah Snider and Jeremy Jackson, Jeffersonville, Michael and Shawn Mooney, Louisville and Jessica Lincoln, Georgetown and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Mooney.

Zenobia Fern 'Nobie' Narron

Funeral services for Zenobia Fern "Nobie" Narron, 89, of Sellersburg, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29 at Henryville United Methodist Church, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Henryville. She died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Maple Manor Christian Home.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1915, to the late Thomas and Elsie Collins Brishaber. She was a homemaker and a member of Henryville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Shaw, Marysville and Candy Narron and Debbie Wampler, Jeffersonville; three sons, Thomas Lee and Nick Narron, Sellersburg and John Narron, Henryville; two sisters, Doris Zimmerman and Betty Wilt, Henryville; a brother, Arnold Brishaber, Henryville and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Narron.
Visitation at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service in Henryville was Sunday, Nov. 28 and after 9 a.m. Monday.
Nancy J. Epperson
87; retired tutor and teacher's aide
Funeral services for Nancy J. Epperson, 87, of New Albany, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Lincoln Hills Healthcare Center.
She was a native of New Albany and the former Nancy J. Fess. She was a retired tutor and teacher's aide for the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation. She was a member of the Graceland Baptist Church where she had been active in the choir, Dwelling Place Ministries and had taught Sunday school at Lincoln Hills Healthcare for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Fred E. Epperson; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy G. and Ben Shiner, New Albany; a daughter, Linda J. Jacobi, Bedford; a son-in-law, Dr. Michael Jacobi, Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Linda Ashwood, Georgetown; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2.

Bryan R. Smith
86; of Sebring, Fla.
Graveside services for Bryan R. Smith, 86, of Sebring, Fla., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Barnes Cemetery. He died Nov. 19, 2004, at The Palms Healthcare Center, Sebring.
He was a native of Clark County and a former farmer, retiring in 1971. He moved to Sebring in 1987 from Naples, Fla. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sebring.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Shepherd Smith; a daughter, Phyllis Swanson, St. Joseph, Ill. and grandchildren, David Cross, Urbana, Ill. and Lisa Bathe, Hudson, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or charity of their choice.
