Louis Lee Garrett
67; Army veteran
Funeral services for Louis Lee Garrett, 67, of Marysville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Charlestown. He died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Hohenwald, Tenn., an Army veteran and a retired foreman for General Electric Co. he was also a board member of the New Washington Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Charlestown.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Lindenmayer; a daughter, Kim Daniel, Charlestown; three brothers, Glenn Garrett, Gurley, Ala., David Garrett, Guntersville, Ala. and Dwight Garrett, Cullman, Ala.; two sisters, Norma Hutchinson, Woodville, Ala. and Cathy Sims, Albertville, Ala. and grandchildren, Clay, Aaron, Eli and Jenna Daniel, all of Charlestown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Garrett.
Visitation at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 30 and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Mary Ellis Logsdon
85; of Clarksville
Funeral services for Mary Ellis Logsdon, 85, of Clarksville, were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, Aug. 30 at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Robert E. Lee Retirement Inn in New Albany.
She was a native of Louisville, a retired cafeteria director for Clarksville Community Schools and a member of Ohio Falls United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Charles B. Logsdon and wife, Pat, Louisville, and Beverly R. McCullum, Loveland, Colo.; a sister, Harriet Pennington, Mobile, Ala.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 29.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.

Joan B. Howard, 70, of Georgetown, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. There will be no visitation or funeral services.

82; of New Albany
Funeral services for Fleeda McCurry, 82, of New Albany, will be held at 8 p.m. this evening, Monday, Aug. 30 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, 1125 Tusculum Blvd., Greenville, Tenn., with burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31 in Grace Brethren Cemetery. She died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany.
She is a retired supervisor of Greene Manufacturing and a member of Limestone Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, Gearldene Snyder, Clarksville and Yvonne Jones, Eubank, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. McCurry; her parents, Leroy and Oma Claunch; six sisters, Mildred Campbell, Lillian Cloyd, Mae Tillery, Katie Early, Gertrude Stonecyphur and Elsie Carmack and four brothers, David, James, Joel and Oma Lee Claunch.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30.
Margaret Rose Bruce
74; of Bradenton, Fla.
A memorial service for Margaret Rose Bruce, 74, of Bradenton, Fla., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2004 at Christ Community Church of the Nazarene, 4920 Charlestown Road in New Albany. The body was cremated. She died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004.
She was born in Gratz, Ky., graduated from Campbellsville College with a business degree, was a retired financial counselor for Clark County Memorial Hospital and moved to Bradenton, Fla. from Indiana in 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Jr., Bradenton, Fla.; daughters, Terri Shockley, Floyds Knobs, Susan Moore, Pilgrim, Ky. and Patti Higdon, Callahan, Fla.; a son, Raymond III, Austin; two sisters, Barbara Headen, Louisville and Mary Ann Bright, Shelbyville, Ky.; a brother, William Purvis, Lawrenceburg, Ky.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Good Earth Crematory in Bradenton, Fla. was in charge of the arrangements.

Gregory Lee 'Benny' Bennett
50; of Jeffersonville
Gregory Lee "Benny" Bennett, 50, of Jeffersonville, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at Medical Center of Southern Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton J. Bennett.
Survivors include his mother, Mary J. Bennett; two sisters, Beverly Shane and her husband, Emmett and Kathy Niemann and her husband, Terry; an aunt, Constance Pace; three nieces; two nephews; seven great-nieces; one great nephew and several cousins.
The body was cremated. No funeral service will be held.

David H. Loeser Jr.
39; Persian Gulf War veteran
Funeral services for David H. Loeser Jr., 39, of Sellersburg, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville. He died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004.
He was a native of Louisville, a Persian Gulf War Army veteran and was employed as a computer programmer for Kindred Healthcare, Louisville. He was a member of Northside Christian Church, Jeffersonville.
Survivors include three daughters, Nastashia E. and Dascha A. Loeser, Sellersburg and Brianna J. Algier, Fayetteville, N.C.; his parents, David H. and Darlene Loeser, Jeffersonville and a sister, Danna M. Abell, Henryville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 and after 9 a.m. Monday.

Marilyn L. Norton
67; former Sunday School teacher
Funeral services for Marilyn L. Norton, 67, of Clarksville, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She did Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at her home.
She was the former Marilyn L. Sherrell, formerly of New Albany. She retired with more than 22 years of service as the office manager for Radiology Associates, Jeffersonville. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church and was a former fourth grade Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, Billy C. Norton Sr., Clarksville; a son, Bob McAfee, Greenwood; two daughters, Sherrell Nethery, Charlestown and Dawn Franklin, Sellersburg; a sister, Evelyn Goostree, Sellersburg; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy C. Norton Jr.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29.
Virginia Pattison Hardsaw
Community volunteer
Funeral services for Virginia Pattison Hardsaw, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at Kraft Funeral Home, Charlestown Road Chapel, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Corydon.
The daughter of Warren Berry and Laura M. House Pattison, she was born July 26, 1922 in Wheeling, W.Va., where she lived until married at Grace Lutheran Church on July 30, 1945. Her husband had just returned from duty with the First Armored Division in Africa and Italy. She was a 1940 graduate of Triadelphia High School and worked at Floyd Memorial Hospital and later volunteered taking blood pressures, where she was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, NARFE, Southern Indiana Genealogy Society, Historical Society, Carnegie Museum and the Piankeshaw Chapter NSDAR.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Aebersold and husband, Donnie and Ginny Ward and husband, Jerry.; four grandsons, Jeremy and wife, Holly, Eric, Terry and wife, Kim and Craig and two great-grandchildren, Shelby Ward and Lucas Blair.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Hardsaw and four brothers, Warren B. Jr., Herbert Grangier, Robert Murray and John Norwood PhD.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29.
