Mildred Shemwell
Mildred S. Shemwell, 92, of Evansville, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Good Samaritan Home. She retired from the dietary department at Deaconess Hospital. She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons and attended Epsom School in Daviess County.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Joyce Brown of Evansville; a sister, Dorothy Tomey of Anderson, Ind.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Boullie, in 1965 and her husband of 15 years, Ewing Shemwell, in 1983.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Homes West Chapel, the Rev. Mary Hendrickson officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Windfield 'Dub' Johnston
Windfield A. "Dub" Johnston, 73, of Evansville, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer. He drove a school bus for Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp. for 30 years. He also worked at Liberty Auto Salvage and at Texaco, DX and Marathon service stations.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7890 in Cadiz, Ky., and a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114. He was past president of Blue Spring Shores-Shawnee Hills Association in Cadiz.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Arlene; and nieces.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Homes North Chapel, the Rev. Philip Spomer officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park with military rites by Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

John Lowery III
John Clifton Lowery III, 50, of Evansville, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of cardiac arrhythmia. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended the University of Michigan (Holland).
Surviving are two sons, Jonathan and Dane, both of Rochester, Minn.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Thelma Wilson
Thelma Kantz Wilson, 93, of Evansville, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She retired in 1978 from Midwest Telephone Co. in Petersburg, Ind.
Surviving are a son, James Thomas Wilson of Evansville; two granddaughters, Julia Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mary Jean Roberts of Dallas; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Harley Earl, died in 1948.
Services will be private, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery
in Petersburg.
There will be no visitation at Harris and Sons Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Gary Reiter
Gary Wayne Reiter, 59, of Evansville, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of heart problems.
He retired due to disability after 10 years as an estimating project electrical engineer with Deig Brothers Construction Co. He formerly worked for Industrial Contractors, Biagi-Hannan Consulting Engineering, Anaconda and National Southwire Aluminum companies and Babcock-Wilcox.
He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Evansville.
He was a Navy veteran with service in Seabees and a member of AmVets Post 1, Indiana Professional Engineers, Kentucky Professional Engineers and Illinois Professional Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte (Jourdan); two sons, David and Daniel, both of Evansville; two grandchildren, Ryan Christopher and Austin Cameron Reiter; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Homes West Chapel, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery
with military rites by Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club.

Bertha Dausman
Bertha E. Becker Dausman, 80, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital. She worked with her father, Wilhelm E. Becker, for State Farm Insurance. She became one of the first women agents and had a 33-year career.
She was a life member and deaconess at Salem United Church of Christ - Heusler. She sang in the church choir and served in church organizations.
Surviving are a stepson, Calvin Dausman of California; two stepgrandchildren, Christine and Eric Dausman; and a nephew and caregiver, Kenneth Burgdorf of Mount Vernon, Ind.; and nieces and another nephew.
Her husband of 24 years, Arthur P., died in 1995.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Salem U.C.C. - Heusler, the Revs. James and Kathi Elliott officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today a Alexander Funeral Homes West Chapel and from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.

Lucille Brady
Lucille E. (Schmidt) Brady, 82, of Evansville, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Holiday Health Care.
She attended Trini- ty Wesleyan Church. Surviving are a daughter, Luci Hunt of Evansville; a son, Edwin of Boonville, Ind.; a sister, LaVerna Gash of Evansville; six grandchildren, Scott and Jennifer Hunt, Christina Adams, Sara Wente, Albert Brady and Alicia Brooks; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband Edwin died in 1979.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Homes East Chapel, the Rev. Everett Freels officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Helen Kuester
Helen F. Kuester, 89, of Evansville, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Parkview Care Center.
She retired in 1977 as a nurse's aide at Deaconess Hospital.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald "Jerry" of Evansville and Donald of Kuttawa, Ky.; four grandchildren, Debbie Welz and Mark, Jeff and Mike Kuester; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Church, the Rev. Kirk Horstmeyer officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Homes North Chapel and from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

Ronald Collins
Ronald E. Collins, 61, of Evansville, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Deaconess Select Hospital of complications of can- cer.
He was a roofer. He was a Vietname War veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3418 in Boonville, Ind.
Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Donna; a daughter, Tammy Taylor of Jackson, Tenn.; a son, David A. of Evansville; his stepmother, Margaret Collins of Evansville; two brothers, Bill of Evansville and John of Boonville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, the Rev. Mark Brewer officiating, with burial arrangements pending.
