Funeral services for Dorothy J. Elrod, 79, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of English and a retired clerk and claims investigator for L & N Railroad. She was also a member of New Beginnings Community Church, New Albany.
Survivors include her husband, William F. Elrod; a brother, John Pavey, Jeffersonville and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to New Beginnings Community Church, 104 Wooded Valley Dr., New Albany.
Jewell Jordan
78; of New Albany
Funeral services for Jewell Jordan, 78, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Norton's Hospice in Louisville.
She was the former Jewell Saddler born Aug. 24, 1926 in Sulphur, Ind. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Jordan and Jack Jordan and his wife, Brenda; a daughter, Sharon Yates and her husband, Jeffrey; five sisters, Lillian Hattabaugh, Rose Seewer, Jean Myrick, Bertha Wright and Irene Coley; and four grandsons, Brian, Kyle, Jason and Jeremy Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jordan; and three brothers, Fred, Leon and Charles Saddler.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 9 and after 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.
LaVerne H. Daily
77; of Clarksville
Funeral services for LaVerne H. Daily, 77, of Clarksville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, with cremation to follow. She died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at her home.
She was a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle, New Albany and Little Flock of Yellow Wood Church, Clarksville.
Survivors include three sons, Dan Daily and Mark and Eric Condra; a daughter, Penny Densford; two sisters, Helen Reisert and Lula Mae Woods; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9.
Glenna W. Dattilo
72; Utica native
Funeral services for Glenna W. Dattilo, 72, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, with burial in Walnut Ridge Mausoleum. She died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Utica and retired cafeteria worker for Greater Clark County Schools, working at both Utica Elementary and Parkview Middle School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Pete Frank Dattilo Sr.; a son, Pete F. Dattilo Jr., Jeffersonville; a daughter, Susan Dattilo Bingham, Jeffersonville; two grandsons, Robert Frank Bingham, Jeffersonville and Pete Christopher Dattilo, Atlanta, Ga.; a granddaughter, Amanda Ferrell, Jeffersonville and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. Hicks and Susan Margaret Montgomery Mofield.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 8 and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Thurlo Pearl Renfrow
83; of Jeffersonville
Funeral services for Thurlo Pearl Renfrow, 83, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Scott Funeral Home's Main Street Chapel, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at the Masonic Lodge, Shelbyville, Ky.
She was a native of Butler County, Ky. and retired restaurant owner of the Bull In The Bear.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Darryl Renfrow and wife, Joanna, Louisville; sister, Margie Greer, Shelbyville, Ky.; two granddaughter, Lisa Paonessa, Greenville, Tracy Renfrow, Jeffersonville and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Ryder, Columbus, Montana and Laura Paonessa, Molt, Montana.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Fred James Smith
68; retired chief of detectives
Funeral services for Fred James Smith, 68, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at his home.
He was a native of South Bend, an Army veteran of the Vietname War and was retired Chief of Detectives for Clark County Police Department. He was owner of the Fred Smith Agency, Jeffersonville and a member of American Legion Post 35, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1832, Clark County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, Clark Masonic Lodge 40 and the Evansville Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Edith L. Smith; a son, James Smith, Jeffersonville; two daughters, Terri Chadwell, Jeffersonville and Dottie Hubbs, Oldham County, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Paula Dalby, Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Catherine Kelley, South Bend; two cousins who were like his sisters, Joy Bonek, South Bend and Faith Sandusky, Forestburg, Texas and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Garland Griffin and a sister, Carol Jean Jaronik.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 8 and after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Paul William Bittner
77; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Paul William Bittner, 77, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Jeffersonville and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. A disabled veteran, he was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include a brother, Jimmie Bittner, New Albany and a niece, Jackie B. Downs, Floyd Knobs. He was also survived by friends and caregivers from Lincoln Hills Convalescent Center, New Albany.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George T. and Carl Bittner.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9.
Dewey Lothery
64; of Memphis
Funeral services for Dewey Lothery, 64, of Memphis, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Borden. He died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at his home.
Survivors include a brother, Melvin Lothery and his wife, Charlene, Memphis and a sister, Barbara Ann Daniels and her husband, Harrison, Cumberland, Va.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 and after 9 a.m. Monday.
Milder Ann Poteet
84; homemaker
Funeral services for Mildred Ann Poteet, 84, of Sellersburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at a mini home in Jeffersonville.
She was a native of Clairton, Penn. and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Robert Peteet, Sellersburg; two stepdaughters, Gwendolyn Bain, Clarksville and Kathleen Robinson, Sour Lake, Texas; a sister, Mary Menendez, Fair Hills, Penn.; grandson, William Poteet; step grandchildren, Rusty, William, Sharon, Patty and Dawn and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Clay Poteet, stepson, Randy Robinson and husband, Robert Peteet.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19.
