Funeral services for Gloria V. Young, 88, of Louisville, will be held at 6 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home, 951 S. Preston St., Louisville. She died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Longworth Villa Nursing Home, Charlestown.
She was a native of Mayfield, Ky., and a Christian.
Survivors include a niece, Lorene Garrett; three nephews; a great-niece, Cassandra Garrett; and Fred Crawford, who cared for her.
Geneva F. Frosch
age 93; Logansport native
Funeral services for Geneva F. Frosch, 93, of Clarksville, were held at noon today, Monday, Feb. 17, at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, with entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Westminster Healthcare Center in Clarksville.
She was a native of Logansport and a member of the order of Eastern Star and the Apet of the Shrine Club, both in Clarksville.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and William C. Vissing; a brother, Leslie Meyers and two grandsons, William C. Jr. and A.J. Vissing.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julia K. Vissing and her husband, Leonard J. Frosch.
Visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home.

Gretna Katherine Lawson
age 86; of Borden
Funeral services for Gretna Katherine Lawson, 86, of Borden, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the First Christian Church, Borden, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery. She died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003.
Visitation at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, Borden, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 17, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Harold D. "Mac" McDaniel
age 82; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Harold D. "Mac" McDaniel, 82, of Memphis, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Vanderbilt University Hospital, Nashville, Tenn.
He was a native veteran of World War II, a former deacon of the Baptist church and retired after 30 years with B.F. Goodrich Co., Louisville.
Survivors include a son, Dan McDaniel, Floyds Knobs; five daughters, Linda Bolden, Smyrna, Tenn., Cindy Zinser, Waynesville, N.C., Janice Chewning, Germany, Mindy McDaniel, Charlestown and Kim Yount, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris McDaniel.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 17, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
Lillian Mae Priddy
age 68; of Charlestown
Funeral services for Lillian Mae Priddy, 68, of Clarksville, were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, Feb. 17, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home.
Philip Scardina
age 78; Baltimore, Md., native
Funeral services for Philip Scardina, 78, of Memphis, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, Sellersburg, with burial in Bowery Cemetery, Memphis. He died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Medical Center of Southern Indiana in Charlestown.
He was a native of Baltimore, Md., and retired from Acorn Printing Company in Baltimore and Army & Air Force Exchange Service in Charlestown. He was a store detective in Japan for the Department of Defense, a member of Moose Lodge, Sellersburg, Pekin Community Saddle Club, Scott County Saddle Club and St. Joe Hill Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Goedeke Scardina; a son, Vincent Peranio, Baltimore; a daughter, Ignazia (Katy) Grant, Memphis; a sister, Catherine Moreau, Baltimore; four grandchildren, Phyllis Grant, Mary MacKay, Andrew Grant and Aimee McPherson; five great-grandchildren, Devon and Brandon MacKay, Marc Andry, Caterina Ly and Kayla McPherson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Giuseppi V. Scardina and his mother, Ignazia Interisano Scardina.
Visitation at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 17 and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Charles Douglas Marchacek
age 50; of Louisville
Funeral services for Charles Douglas Marchacek, 50, of Louisville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Scott Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Morganfield, Ky., a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and a graduate of Indiana University Southeast. He was a member of the Bartender's Hall of Fame, was an avid Elvis fan, and a former bar manager for Jack Fry's Restaurant.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Marchacek, Jeffersonville; two brothers, Dale Marchacek, Lawton, Okla., and Gary Marchacek, Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Lynn Shope, Jeffersonville and two nieces, Tiffany Daugherty, Jeffersonville and Gretchen Cozine, Sellersburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Charles Marchacek.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Catherine Burke Boland
age 87; of New Albany
Funeral services for Catherine Burke Boland, 87, of New Albnay, will be held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 19 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemtery, New Albany. She died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 in Oak Park, Ill.
She was the second of five daughters of the late Maurice Vincent and Louise Burke Boland of New Albany. She was born in East St. Louis, Ill. on Jan. 29, 1916 and raised in New Albany where she graduated from Holy Trinity Grade School. She was a graduate of Loretto High School in Louisville where she received the Courier-Journal's Outstanding Student Award for the class of 1934. She attended Nazareth College in Louisville where she was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Parish. Her business career with the federal government spanned 30 years during which she served as a dedicated employee with the Quartermaster, Office of Rent Control, and Internal Revenue Service in Chicago. Catherine spent her retirement years involved in civic activities including the Hospice program, hospital work and a year as a volunteer at Rosebud Indian Reservation in North Dakota.
Survivors include sisters, Louise Falk, Indiana, Margaret Reid, McClean, Va., and Virginia Nix, Oak Park, Ill. and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street, New Albany.
Rosalie A. Brunsman
age 90; of New Albany
Funeral services for Rosalie A. Brunsman, 90, of New Albany, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at her home.
She was a native of Ripley County and a housekeeper for the late Monsignor James Jensen in New Albany for 45 years. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Mary's Catholic Church of New Albany and the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a niece who cared for her, Marilyn Merkel, Floyds Knobs; two sisters, Clara Merkel, Batesville and Frieda Merkel, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Roberta Brunsman and Emma Brunsman, both of Batesville; 42 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 17 and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert E. Heitz
age 73; of New Albany
Funeral services for Robert E. "Bobbie" Heitz, 73, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at his home.
He was a retired woodworker for the Paramount Plywood Company.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara L. Runnells; two sons, Bobby Jean and Charles Heitz, New Albany; three stepsons, Kenny, Jay and Andy Papp, New Albany; a daughter, Lisa Meeks, New Albany; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dean Heitz.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 17 and after noon Tuesday.
