Elmer E. Kebortz

RICHLAND, Ind. - Elmer E. Kebortz, 75, of Richland passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at his home. Elmer was born in Richland on May 3, 1930, to the late Otto and Beulah (Powell) Kebortz. Elmer retired from J.H. Rudolph Construction in Evansville. He was a member of Richland Masonic Lodge, Evansville Scottish Rite and Richland United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Kebortz.
Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Sarah; two daughters, April Kebortz of Richland and Tabatha Durbin of Chrisney, Ind.; three grandsons, Aaron Kelly, Alex and Dallon Durbin; a niece, Karen Banks, and a nephew, Kevin Kebortz, both of Grandview, Ind.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with the Rev. Neil Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Hackleman cemetery in Chrisney, with American Legion Post No. 254 conducting military graveside services. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Richland United Methodist Church.
Estella Mae McMahan

TROY, Ind. - Estella Mae McMahan, 87, of Troy died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 7, 1918, in Troy. Estelle was retired from Tell City (Ind.) Chair Co. and was a member of United Methodist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, puzzle books, crocheting, candy and caring for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gaylord Ingle, her second husband, William McMahan; a son, Kenneth Ingle; a daughter, Mary Helen McMahan; grandchildren, Tereasa Bolin and Christopher Ray Hempfling; a great-granddaughter, April Kast; and her parents, Clarence and Margaret (Spath) Sanders.
Survivors include six daughters, Barbara Hempfling and Beverly McMahan, both of Troy, Pat Brinksneader and Freida Bolin, both of Tell City, Debbie Ward of Lamar, Ind., and Trudy Berry of Philpot; a son: William McMahan of Lula, Ga.; 19 grandchildren, Clarence (Butch), Terry, Brian Ingle, Helen Kast, Becky Holpp, Rick, Nick and Kevin Hempfling, Molly Rooks, Holly McMahan, Alicia Berry, Brandon Berry, Connie Graham, Sharon and Karon Brinksneader, Pansy Riley, Danny Bolin, Cindy Ewers and Nicole Ward; 32 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, with the Rev. Gil Hubbard officiating. Burial will take place in Huff cemetery near Troy. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
Marietta M. Bumm

ROCKPORT, Ind. - Marietta M. Bumm, 90, of Rockport passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Marietta was born in Owensboro on Aug. 26, 1915, to the late Mike and Rosa (Kaulfeld) Bumm. Marietta was a clerk at Tresslors Department Store in Rockport, a graduate of Marion Heights Academy at Ferdinand, Ind., and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Altar Society in Rockport. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Bumm.
Surviving are a niece and a nephew.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Father Attila Frohlich officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Catholic cemetery in Rockport. Prayer services are at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Zola Ann Dodson

ROCKPORT, Ind. - Zola Ann Dodson, 69, of Rockport passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a cook.
Survivors are a son, Frank Dodson; a daughter, Joann Kwarciany; two brothers, James Kitchen and Richard Kitchen; and two sisters, Doris Powell and Jo Lena Dawson.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery in Rockport.
Donald K. Herrell

HATFIELD, Ind. - Donald K. Herrell, 41, of Hatfield passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at his home from a heart attack.
Don was born in Owensboro on July 9, 1964, to Dennis and Sharon (Krantz) Herrell. He attended Hatfield United Methodist Church and was a member of Cement Finishers Local 692 Area 566. Don was Worshipful Master of Eureka Masonic Lodge No. 397, Eureka Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 132, a Senior DeMolay, and graduated from South Spencer High School in 1983.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.
Surviving are his parents, Dennis and Sharon Herrell of Hatfield; a brother, Brian Scot Herrell of Rockport, Ind.; grandmothers June Herrell and Virginia McReynolds of Hatfield; a niece, Janaye Herrell; nephews, Brandon Parks and Mason Herrell.
Services are 11 a.m.. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with the Rev. Reno DeMuth officiating. Burial in Ebenezer cemetery in Richland, Ind.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic Service is 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Masonic Home Foundation.
Mary F. (Schneider) Lincoln

BOONVILLE, Ind. - Mary F. Lincoln, 90, of Boonville, formerly of Rockport, Ind., died Sept. 5, 2005, at Baker's Nursing Home in Boonville. Mary was born in Evanston, Ind., on July 12, 1915, to the late Phillip and Ida Schneider. She lived most of her life in Rockport. She was a devout Catholic, was in the choir and worked in the cafeteria at St. Bernard Church in Rockport. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Clement Church in Boonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest L. Lincoln, in 1991, to whom she was married
for 55 years; and a granddaughter, Lisa Gale Chapman in 1966. The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff of Baker's Nursing Home for the kindness and care given to Mary.
She is survived by two sons, James Lincoln of Boonville and Robert Lincoln and his wife, Janice, of Boonville; a daughter, Frances Jean Chapman and her husband, Virgil, of Owensboro; nine grandchildren, Keith Chapman, Carissa Roush, Leigh Ann McLevain, Jacalyn Downs, Terry Byers, Jim Lincoln II, Rachel Siver, Amy Patterson and Todd Lincoln; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport, with Father Lowell Will and Father Edward Schneider officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Tell City. Prayer services are at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Darlynne Nichole (Craft) Meredith

NEWBURGH, Ind. - Darlynne Nichole (Craft) Meredith, 23, of Newburgh died at 8:29 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Darlynne was employed with Heritage Federal Credit Union of Newburgh, was a member of the Circle of Faith Church and attended services at Boonville Worship Center. She was a devoted wife and a caring mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for the holidays. She will be greatly missed by all of us but has gone home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Pfingston.
Survivors include her husband of five years, Troy Meredith, who stood with her until the end; her beautiful two-year-old daughter, Morgan Ashley Meredith, who was the light of her life; her parents, Darla (Robinson) and Rick Pfingston of Newburgh and Charles F. and Theresa Craft of Owensboro; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Bobby Meredith of Newburgh; her sisters, Lindsey Pfingston of Newburgh and Tiffany Craft of Owensboro; her brother, Dustin Craft of Newburgh; her grandparents, Eva Pfingston of Newburgh, Darlene and Bobby Robinson of Owensboro and Cindy and Buddie Craft of Maceo; her great-grandmother, Ruby Murphy of Maceo and Sadie Allison of Owensboro; her great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Robinson of Louisville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., with the Rev. Allan Meinschein officiating. Burial will be in Bates Hill cemetery in Yankeetown, Ind. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel. William E. 'Tarzen' Bratcher

ROCKPORT, Ind. - William E. "Tarzen" Bratcher, 83, of Rockport passed away on Oct. 9, 2005, at his home. William was born on July 29, 1922, to the late Owen and Sarah (Swift) Bratcher. William was a member of Local 561 Labor and Hod Carries Union since 1956, and also farmed. He was a member of Larkin Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and gardener. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Bratcher; a sister, Mae Burden; and a brother, Elvis Bratcher.
He is survived by three daughters, Allean Frank of Springville, Ala., Lola Bartlett and her husband, Alva, and Sarah Fulkerson and her husband, Scott, both of Rockport; three brothers, Carl, Osco and Randy Bratcher, all of Morgantown; two sisters, Alice Faye of Morgantown and VM Bratcher of Louisville; six grandchildren, Lisa Bowens, Billy Garrett, Angela Jewell, Jeremy Bartlett, Willy Mallory and Sara Fulkerson; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with the Rev. Jim England officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Tell City Hospice.
James Lawrence 'Larry' Hendry

ARCADIA, Ind. - James Lawrence "Larry" Hendry, 49, and his wife, Anne, were killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005. Larry was a native of Owensboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Katherine Hendry.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Beth Hendry of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Marcus and Jennifer Hendry; a granddaughter, Grace, of East Amherst, N.Y.; a brother, Alex Hendry of Nashville; and two sisters, Marty Durham of Perry, Ga., and Myrna Dantic of Owensboro.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Calvary Baptist Church in Noblesville, Ind. Randall Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville is in charge of arrangements with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.
Wilfred E. Fischer

DALE, Ind. - Wilfred E. Fischer, 84, of Dale died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Ind. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Fischer; three sons, Wayne Fischer, Dan Fischer and Scott Fischer; and a sister, Alberta Lubbehusen.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation: From 3 to 8 p.m. today at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale. Rosary: 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions: St. Joseph Catholic Church.
