EVANSTON, Ind. -- Edward W. Chamberlin Jr., 62, of Evanston died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital in Boonville, Ind. The Petersburg, Ind., native was a pot operator for 25 years at Alcoa Warrick Operations. He attended Little Pigeon Baptist Church and was a member of Aluminum Company of America Union.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Hattie Chamberlin; two daughters, Denise Chamberlin of Mariah Hill, Ind., and Debbie Chamberlin of Chandler, Ariz.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Oscar Chamberlin of Paris, Fla., Ray Chamberlin of Chrisney, Ind., and Ralph Kays of Owensboro; and a sister, Judy Bono of Silver Lake, Ind.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Little Pigeon cemetery near Chrisney. Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Little Pigeon Baptist Church.

TELL CITY, Ind. -- Betty S. Ward, 68, of Tell City died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of complications from emphysema. The Ohio County native retired from General Electric Co. in Owensboro in 1985 after 34 years and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and fishing.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer J. Ward; a son, Darrel Riley of Tell City; three grandchildren; a brother, Medley Hoover of Centertown; and five sisters, Shirley Bell, Violet Hedges and Naomi Boyken, all of Livermore, Alcyone "Toni" Chinn of Centertown and Delores Halfhill of Evansville.
Services are at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Perry County Memorial Hospital.
Amelia 'Nealie' Swaney

TROY, Ind. -- Amelia "Nealie" Swaney, 76, of Tell City, Ind., died there Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Beverly Health Care. The Tell City native was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Swaney Sr.; a son, James Splater; three stepsons, Jim Swaney, John Swaney Jr. and Joseph Swaney; and a stepdaughter, Naomi Futrell.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 7 p.m. EST today at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will be in Troy City cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mary L. Miller

ROCKPORT, Ind. -- Mary L. Miller, 79, of Rockport died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital in Boonville from a heart condition. The Little Rock, Ark., native was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shaeffer Quay Miller Sr., in 1973, and a son, Shaeffer Quay Miller Jr., in 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Darline Cline of Chandler, Ind.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at a later date. Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport is handling arrangements.
Martha Marie Wilhelmus

RICHLAND, Ind. -- Martha Marie Wilhelmus, 89, of Richland died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. The Spencer County, Ind., native was a member of St. Rupert Catholic Church where she taught religion classes. She was a charter member of Little Village Homemakers Club in Warrick County and past 4-H leader in Spencer County. She had worked as a secretary in the county extension office in Rockport, Ind., and enjoyed quilting and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by an infant son and a daughter, Doris Jean.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Herbert Wilhelmus; a son, Michael Wilhelmus of Richland; three daughters, Julia Lockridge and Betty Wangler, both of Richland, and Marilyn Bates of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, George Cundiff, John Cundiff, Paul Cundiff and Bob Cundiff, all of Boonville, Ind.; and two sisters, Hazel Winsett of Boonville and Stella Myers of Olaton.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rupert Catholic Church in Red Brush, Ind., with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral home in Rockport. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Rupert Catholic Church.

CANNELTON, Ind. -- Alice W. Crowe, 73, of Cannelton died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from heart failure. The Derby, Ind., native was a homemaker and had worked at Commercial Filters in Tell City, Ind., for seven years. She enjoyed animals, working puzzles and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Curtis Crowe, in 1996; and a daughter, Ida Ruth.
Survivors include a son, Talmadge Tindall of Louisville; a daughter, Mary Kay Young of Cannelton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. EST today at Huber Funeral Home in Cannelton. Burial will be in New Cliff cemetery in Cannelton. Visitation is after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Heart Association.

GRANDVIEW, Ind. -- Charles W. Hughes, 66, of Grandview died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at his home of cancer. The Grandview native was a farmer and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Eloise Hughes; two sons, David Hughes of Grandview and Michael Hughes of Lamar, Ind.; three daughters, Carol Champion and Regina Horn, both of Santa Claus, Ind., and Beverly Turner of Grandview; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, LaVerne Williams of Grandview.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery in Newtonville, Ind. TELL CITY, Ind. -- Philip Krieg, 84, of Tell City died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Southwind Healthcare in Boonville, Ind. The Tell City, Ind., native retired as a tool and die maker from General Electric in Tell City in 1976 after 31 years, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed water skiing and woodworking. His wife, Clara Marie Paulin Krieg, died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Carrol J. Krieg of Tell City; a daughter, Phyllis Dickman of Tell City; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. Burial will be in New Cliff cemetery in Cannelton. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City chapel. Prayers will be said at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ROME, Ind. -- Darlene F. Lechner, 47, of Crystal City, Mo., formerly of Rome, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill., from heart failure. The Tell City, Ind., native was a certified medical technician at Fountainbleau Nursing Home in Festus, Mo., a member of Transformation Church in Festus and an experienced seamstress. She was a member of 4-H and enjoyed horseback riding.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Keith R. Lechner; a son, Preston Lechner of O'Fallon, Mo.; a daughter, Vicki Simons of O'Fallon, Mo.; four grandchildren; her father and stepmother, Carl F. and Esther Claycomb of Rome; her mother, Ella Mae Nugent Lassiter of Tell City; four brothers, James A. Claycomb of Silvisa, Carl W. Claycomb of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Brian Wilgus and Michael Williams, both of Tell City; and a sister, Debbie Wilgus of Tell City.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Cannelton, Ind. Burial will be in Rickert cemetery in Rome, Ind. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton chapel. William C. 'Bill' Park

RICHLAND, Ind. -- William C. "Bill" Park, 78, of Richland died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport, Ind. The Narrows native was a cement mason with Local Union 566 and attended Richland United Methodist Church. His son, Fred Park, died in 1992.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen Park; a son, Joe Park of Franklin, Ind.; two sisters, Eunice Mitchell and Ruth Leach, both of Owensboro; and three grandsons.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Richland, Ind. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Brother Daniel Linskens

SAINT MEINRAD, Ind. -- Brother Daniel Linskens, 63, of St. Meinrad Archabbey died Monday, May 7, 2001, at the monastery infirmary. The Appleton, Wis., native was invested as a novice at St. Meinrad on March 10, 1956, professed simple vows on April 7, 1957, and professed perpetual vows on July 16, 1960. He was a member of St. Meinrad Volunteer Fire Department and Archabbot's Council, and enjoyed woodworking, electronics and auto mechanics.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Arens and Joyce Cops, both of Wisconsin.
The funeral liturgy is at 10 a.m. Friday at the Archabbey Church in St. Meinrad. Burial will be in Archabbey cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today, from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Prayers will be said at 7:30 today at the church. The Office of the Dead will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
