COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Ruth W. Barton, 82 of Columbus, formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Barton.
Survivors include a son, William Barton of Columbus.
Services will be private. There will be no visitation. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Sue A. Barton Lincoln Elementary School First Grade Memorial Fund, c/o The Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County, P.O. Box 1547, Columbus, IN 47202.
Donald Lee Williams

CANNELTON, Ind. -- Donald Lee Williams, 70, of Mount Pleasant, Ind., died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Magnet, Ind., and was a lifelong Perry County farmer. He was a 1948 graduate of Oil Township High School, an Army veteran who served from 1953 to 1955 and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Anna Hemingway Williams; a son, Marty Williams of Mount Pleasant, Ind.; a daughter, Gail Williams of Palmyra, Ind.; three grandchildren; a brother, Nolan Williams of Mount Pleasant; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to United Way or Perry County Memorial Hospital Home Health. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

LAMAR, Ind. -- Wilhelmina Schmitt, 72, of Lamar died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, of natural causes at St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville. She was born in Lamar, was a graduate of Evansville College and received her master's degree in education from Indiana University. She was a life member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lamar and a 50-year member of the Evansville Chapter of Professional Secretary International where she was named member of the year in 1992 and 1996. She was also a member of Who's Who Among Teachers, Professional Secretaries Association, Lamar Home Ec Club, Chrisney Chapter of the Eastern Star, Indiana Retired Teachers' Association, Perry County Retired Teachers' Association, Spencer County Retired Teachers' Association, former treasurer of the Spencer County Council of Aging, Santa Claus Senior Citizens Women's Guild and the Santa Claus American Legion Auxiliary. She was the recipient of the 1991-92 Perry County Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year Award from Cannelton High School, where she retired in 1996 after 37 years as a vocational and business teacher. Her husband, Durbin L. Schmitt, died in 1994.
Survivors include a brother, Arthur Schweizer of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two nephews; a niece; and four great-nephews and great-nieces.
Services are at 11 a.m. EST Friday at St. John's United Church of Christ in Lamar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. EST today and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel; and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. DALE, Ind. -- Wilma D. Dike, 85, of Dale died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Huntingburg Convalescent Center. She was born in Boonville, Ind., and was a member and organist at Dale United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Her husband, Marvin Drake, died on Oct. 24, 1989.
Survivors include a son, Charles Dike of Dale; three daughters, Sharon Weitkamp of Newburgh, Ind., Linda Lancioni of Frankfort and Darlene Hubster of Holland, Ind.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. CST Thursday at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale, Ind. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Boonville, Ind. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. CST today at the funeral home.

JASPER, Ind. -- Hazel A. Hoffman, 91, of Jasper died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Boone Township, Ind., and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar G. Hoffman, in October 1978 and by an infant son.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ellis of Jasper; four grandchildren, including Sandy Lampert of Owensboro; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Beryl Wingfield Schauberger

TELL CITY, Ind. -- Beryl Wingfield Schauberger, 91, of Tell City died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Lincoln Hills Healthcare in Tell City. She was born in Bowling Green, was a resident council officer at Twilight Towers in Tell City, where she had lived since 1979, and attended First Baptist Church in Tell City. She owned and operated a meat market with her husband in Cincinnati for many years. She had a great love for cats. Her husband, Ernst Schauberger, died April 22, 1991.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Marge Schauberger and Jo Anne Schauberger, both of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 10 a.m. EST Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Evangelical United Church of Christ Benevolent Fund, the Perry County Humane Society or to First Baptist Church in Tell City. GENTRYVILLE, Ind. -- H. Gene Hibdon, 62, of Gentryville died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville of cancer. He was born in Centralia, Ill., and was a member of Lincolnland Worship Center in Santa Claus, Ind. He was a 42-year member of Plumbers and Steamfitters local 136 and retired in 1997.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Janey Lashley Hibdon; three sons, Randy Hibdon and Warren Hibdon, both of Elberfeld, Ind., and Wendell Hibdon of Haubstadt, Ind.; three step daughters, Heather Hedinger of Grandview, Ind., Marsha Winkler of Tell City, Ind., and Jill WInkler of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Mary Eileen and Oscar Bierman of Centralia; and a brother, Lee Hibdon of Effingham, Ill.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery in Rockport. ROCKPORT, Ind. -- Clay E. Herrell, 88, of Rockport died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at his home. He was born in Hatfield, Ind., was an oil promoter for Shell Oil Co. and a member of Hatfield United Methodist Church. He was a member of Richland Lions Club and a member of the advisory committee for the Luce Township trustee.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, June Herrell; two sons, William "Bill" Herrell of Owensboro and Dennis Herrell of Hatfield; two daughters, Anna Joyce Meece of Hatfield and Bettye June Weatherholt of Evansville; a brother, Louie Herrell of Hatfield; three sisters, Mildred Halbruge of Rockport, Clata Horn of Evansville and Emilie Pickerill of Hatfield; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery in Richland, Ind. TELL CITY, Ind. -- Bettye Kilian, 73, of Tell City died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, Ind. She was born in Tell City and retired from General Electric Co. in Tell City. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Howe; her second husband, William J. Kilian; and a stepson, Scott Kilian.
Survivors include a son, Terry "Butch" Howe of Evansville; two daughters, Vicki Tuggle of Troy, Ind., and Cheryl Goffinet of Orlando, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Strobel and Judy Morgan, both of Tell City; 10 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Harry Labhart, Bill Labhart and Jim Labhart; and four sisters, Henrietta Silverthorn, Ruth Horsley, Edith Walters and Joan Berg.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Entombment will be in Greenwood cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

LEOPOLD, Ind. -- Earl Thomas James, 77, of Leopold died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Deaconess St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg, Ind. He was born in Leopold and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Pyle of Tell City, Ind., and Margaret Lawson of Louisville; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 11 a.m. EST Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 8 a.m. Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. GRANDVIEW, Ind. -- Geneva Oldham Wilkinson, 73, of Grandview died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. The Richland, Ind., native retired from General Electric in Tell City, Ind., as an assembler and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Newtonville, Ind. Her husband, James C. Wilkinson, died in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley Wilkinson and Paul Wilkinson, both of Grandview; a daughter, Phyllis Irene Tokerud of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Kramer of Portland, Ore.
