William E. 'Bill' Blandford

TELL CITY, Ind. - William E. "Bill" Blandford, 61, of Tell City, died Monday, April 26, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg, Ind. He was born in Tell City, was the manager of Conner Floor Covering in Tell City and was a real estate agent for Key Realty in Tell City. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City and Knights of Columbus. He was active with the Perry County (Ind.) Junior Achievement and was a former member of the Cannelton Jaycees, where he was an Exhausted Rooster. He enjoyed music, painting and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Etienne Blandford; three sons, Danny Blandford of Tell City, Todd Blandford of Derby, Ind., and Craig Blandford of Indianapolis; two daughters, Lori Schroeder and Cindy LaGrange, both of Tell City; six grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Blandford of Tell City, Don Blandford of Pharr, Texas, and John Blandford of Evansville; and three sisters, Sister Mary Martha Blandford of Evansville, Betty Epple of Jasper, Ind., and Donna Labhart of Tell City.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. A parish prayer service and a Knights of Columbus service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to either Southern Hills Counseling in Tell City or St. Paul Catholic Church. CANNELTON, Ind. - Lucille Kendall Rhodes, 77, of Cannelton died Monday, April 26, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Cannelton and worked in her parents' grocery store, Kendall's Store, where she later became the manager until health problems forced her to close. She was an Indiana University basketball fan and a NBA fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Rhodes, in 1976; and a son Lee Roy Rhodes in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Rhodes of Cannelton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Kendall of Cannelton and Freddie Kendall and Charles Kendall, both of Evansville; and two sisters, Eva Snyder of Cannelton and Thelma Wolf of Ashland, Ala.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Burial will be in New Cliff cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. TELL CITY, Ind. - Alvina Paulin Cassidy, 93, of Tell City died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. She was born in Bristow, Ind., and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City and St. Ann Sodality. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 58 years, Eugene Paulin; and her second husband of 13 years, Earl Cassidy.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Paulin Jr. of Tell City; a daughter, Betty Hess of Tell City; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Folz of Florida.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. A prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. TELL CITY, Ind. - Marguerite Kress, 87, of Tell City died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Beverly Health Care in Tell City. She was born in Cannelton, Ind., was a homemaker and was formerly employed by Tell City Furniture Factory. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary, all in Tell City. Her husband, Andrew T. Kress, died in 1970.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Tell City. TELL CITY, Ind. - William W. Naegele, 63, of Tell City, Ind., died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Perry County (Ind.) Memorial Hospital. He was born in Perry County, was a cook at the Snappy Grill while in high school and was former owner of the Blue Castle in Tell City during the 1960s. He was an Army veteran stationed in Germany and formerly was employed at Hughes Aircraft in California. He was preceded in death by an infant son Charles Edward Naegele.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Simpson Naegele; five sons, William Naegele of Pittsburgh, Robert Naegele of Phoenix, James Naegele of Richland, Ind., and Jonathon Naegele and Michael Naegele, both of Redding, Calif.; a stepson, Mike Simpson of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Michelle Cronin of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; a brother, Ronald Naegele of St. Croix, Ind.; and two sisters, Pat Mullen of Lamar, Ind., and Linda Smith of Carthage, Mo.

LAMAR, Ind. - Warren A. Schaus, 73, of Lamar, Ind., died Friday, April 30, 1999, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was born in Spencer County, Ind., was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ. He was a farmer and retired from the Soil Conservation Service of Spencer County.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Schaus; three sons, Lyle Schaus of Jasper, Ind., Todd Schaus of Santa Claus and Paul Schaus of Lamar; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Laverna Gayer, Ruth Goffinet and Paula Roessler, all of Tell City, Ind.
Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Lamar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at Youngblood Funeral Home in Chrisney, Ind. TELL CITY, Ind. - Irene Damin McDaniel, 86, of Tell City, Ind., died Friday, April 16, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. She was born in Perry County, Ind., and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2939, American Legion Post No. 213 and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She retired from General Electric Co. in Tell City after 29 years of service and was an antique dealer for many years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Casper Damin; and her second husband, Alonzo McDaniel.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Helen Metzger of Boonville, Ind.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Tell City. TELL CITY, Ind. - Amber Nicole Rogier, 17, of Tell City died Saturday, April 10, 1999, in Spencer County, Ind., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. She was born in Tell City and was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church near Tell City. She was a junior honor student at Perry Central High School, where she was a member of Pride in Performance, Pep Club, Art Club, Spanish Club, Lettermen's Club, the basketball team and the 1998 sectional championship volleyball team. She was a member of AAU basketball team and was a member of the team awarded the 1998 gold medal at the Hoosier State Games. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and listening to music.
Survivors include her parents, Greg and Jennifer Rogier of Tell City; her grandparents, Marvin and Norma Jean Rogier of Tell City; and her great-grandparents, Charles L. and Irene Solbrig of Tell City and Gertrude Rogier of Leopold, Ind.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mark Catholic Church cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. ROCKPORT, Ind. - Adaline Newman, 64, of Rockport died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Tunnel Hill, Ga., and retired as a tube and motor builder from General Electric Co. after 30 years. She was a member of Larkin Baptist Church in Patronville, Ind., Bluff City Rebecca Lodge, American Legion Post 254 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 696 Auxiliary in Owensboro.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Clifton Newman; a son, Robert Greene of Hornbeck, La.; a daughter, Roxanna Becker of Evansville; two stepsons, William D. Oldham of Marlow, Okla., and Robert L. Oldham of Henderson; three stepdaughters, Claudette Evon Delk of Frankfort, Cynthia McGuffey of Raleigh, N.C., and Thalia Marie Pace of Summer Shade; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Wimpey of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Bobby Wimpey of Kennesaw, Ga.; and a sister, Katherine Godfrey of Dalton, Ga.

BOONVILLE, Ind. - The Rev. Charles Lewis McKinney, 50, of Boonville died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital in Boonville. He graduated from Oakland City College in 1980 with a bachelor of arts in ministry and was a member and former pastor at Centenary General Baptist Church in Yankeetown, Ind. He also was a pastor in Livermore and Shiloh General Baptist Church in Folsomville, Ind. He was employed as an electrician at Alcoa for 27 years and was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Linda Smith McKinney; a son, Wes McKinney of Boonville; a daughter, Lori Adams of Chandler, Ind.; three grandchildren; two brothers, John Earl McKinney and Daniel Keith McKinney, both of Boonville; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Koehler Funeral Home, Boonville Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Boonville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. TELL CITY, Ind. - Edna Fern Hartweck, 71, of Tell City died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Bristow, Ind., and retired as co-owner of Melody Made Bakery in Tell City in 1974. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Henry "Boots" Hartweck, on Sept. 6, 1997; and a son, Alfred Hartweck.
Survivors include four sons, Joey Hartweck of Tell City, James DeWeese and Robert DeWeese, both of Evansville, and Jerry DeWeese of Cannelton, Ind.; three daughters, Fran Huff, Sharon Kleeman and Pat Caldemeyer, all of Tell City; three stepsons, Robert Hartweck of Tell City, Ronnie Hartweck of Dallas and Tim Hartweck of Houston; a stepdaughter, Cindy Hartweck of Evansville; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three brothers, August Kirk and Perry Kirk, both of Illinois, and Franklin Kirk of Evansville; and a sister, Esther Meattle of Portland, Ore.
