Maryann Ames

Maryann Ames, 57, of Silver Lane, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Maryann was born on Feb. 22, 1942, in South Bend, to Vincent and Nettie (Kuberski) Leodanski.
On Aug. 27, 1983, in South Bend, she married
Ernest Ames. She is survived by her husband, Ernest; a son, Lars (Lori) Wallace, Jr., of Mishawaka, Ind.; a granddaughter, Rachel Wallace of Mishawaka; her mother, Nettie Leodanski of South Bend; four sisters, Virginia (Frank) Tirotta and Joanne Weaver of South Bend, Josephine (Dick) White of Osceola, Ind., and Viola Ernsberger of Elkhart, Ind.; and by a brother, Vince Leodanski of South Bend.
Maryann worked at On - Line Data in South Bend. She was a member of American Legion Post 357 Ladies Auxiliary, the Eagles and Z.B. Falcons. She had also received a five - year plate for selling Avon.
Funeral services for Maryann Ames will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 2, at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 1, at the funeral home.
Contributions in memory of Maryann Ames may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Robert L. Franklin
May 4, 1930 - June 17, 1999
Dr. Robert L. Franklin, 69, was born on May 4, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., and died on June 17, 1999, in Beverly Shores, Ind. His parents were Benjamin and Tillie Franklin.
On July 9, 1953, he married
Kay Glickman. He was educated at the University of Chicago where he received a bachelor's degree in liberal studies in 1949. He earned his M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, in 1961.
Dr. Franklin is survived by his children, Peter, Karen and Jennifer; his brother, Gerald; and by his grandchildren, Emily, Sofia and Gabriel. He is also survived by his companion, Kathleen Biddick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kay Franklin Commemorative Fund; or to the Unity Foundation of LaPorte County, Box 527, Michigan City, IN 46361 - 0527.
A memorial will be held in Beverly Shores on Aug. 21st, time and place to be announced.
Enid E. Hoehn
April 1, 1910 - June 29, 1999
Enid Elizabeth (Pyle) Hoehn, 89, of Yankee Street, Edwardsburg, Mich., died at 12:56 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, in Mitchell's Home Care Center in South Bend, Ind.
She was born on April 1, 1910, in Witt, Ill., to Walter and Mary (Fox) Pyle, who preceded her in death, and moved to South Bend in 1947 after coming from Armada, Mich.
On May 14, 1936, in Collinsville, Ill., she married
M.R. "Chub" Hoehn, who survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Ken) Plantz of LaPorte, Ind., and Susan (Richard) Sullivan of Edwards - burg; a son, Charles R. (Pam) Hoehn of Beecher, Ill.; and by 11 grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon (South Bend time) on Friday, July 2, in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow at Highland cemetery.
Andrew J. Migas
Oct. 15, 1946 - June 29, 1999
Andrew J. "Andy" Migas, 52, of Bay Hill Drive in South Bend, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, June 29, in his residence.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1946, to Ches - ter and Zeno - bia (Orszulak) Migas in South Bend, and was a lifetime resident. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Migas.
After graduating from Saint Joseph High School in 1964, he entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Texas and Japan.
On May 13, 1967, he married
Patricia L. Rozek in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Joseph A. (Stephanie) Migas of Granger, Ind., and Dennis A. Migas of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Zenobia Migas of South Bend; two sisters, Joyce A. Migas of Mishawaka, Ind., and Kathy E. (Paul R.) Chapman of Indianapolis, Ind.; and by a brother, John C. Migas of South Bend.
Andy was employed by Auto Owners Insurance Company for 26 years. He was the claims manager of the Mishawaka office. He was an avid sports fan who loved Notre Dame football and playing golf. He was a member of the South Bend Adjusters Association.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, with Rev. Anthony V. Szakaly, C.S.C., officiating. Cremation will follow. Entombment will take place in Highland cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 2, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home.

Olivia J. Peterson
Dec. 13, 1916 - June 29, 1999
Olivia J. Peterson, 82, of Shanower Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 7:57 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, in St. Joseph Community Hospital.
She was born in Glen Park, Ind., and had lived in this area most of her life. Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Jessie (Ballard) Lambert; three brothers, Wayne, James and Warren Lambert; and by a sister, Mildred Lambert.
She retired in 1983 from Cardinal Nursing Home as activity director after 12 years of service. Olivia attended the Willow Creek United Methodist Church, was active with Camp Fire Girls, and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by three sons, Frank J. (Dorothy) of Portage, Ind., Robert A. (Kathryn) of Ashland, Ore., and Gregory (Sammie) of Colleyville, Texas; three grandchildren, Kellie, Ryan and Galen; one great - grandchild, Kristen; a sister, Elsa Luber of Biloxi, Miss.; a brother, Charles R. Lambert of Nevis, Minn.; two former daughters - in - law, Debra Tipple of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Barbara Wright of Hawaii; and by many other relatives in the immediate area.
Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 2, in the Mausoleum at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bubb Funeral Chapel North.
Duane K. Wentz
Sept. 23, 1954 - June 28, 1999
Mr. Duane Keith Wentz, 44, of Marion Street, Niles, Mich., died at 2 a.m. on Monday, June 28, at his home. His death was unexpected but of natural causes, and was discovered Monday afternoon when his friend, Beverly Jacobs, came to visit him at his home.
Mr. Wentz was born on Sept. 23, 1954, in Niles, to Rayburn Richard and Lorraine Anna (Nelson) Wentz, lived in Niles all of his life, and graduated from Brandywine High School, Niles. He was a former employee of Niles Precision Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Rayburn R. Wentz in 1988.
As a young man Duane was diagnosed with a form of diabetes, the treatment of which he managed for 25 years. In January 1997 he had surgery for a malignant brain tumor which, with follow - up therapy, was in remission. In spite of these threats to his health he chose an active lifestyle, and had recently hosted some of his nephews to a tubing trip on Dowagiac Creek.
He enjoyed caring for his pets and fishing, and had become proficient at playing pool. He was well - known for his love of music, and always had a radio or recording playing. He also read music journals to help increase his music knowledge and appreciation.
Surviving family include his mother, Lorraine A. Wentz of Mishawaka, Ind.; his companion, Beverly Jacobs of Niles; a brother, Collin Wentz of Niles; two sisters, Gail Crocker of Niles and Penny Spiak of Elkhart, Ind.; and by six nephews and two nieces.
Funeral services for Duane K. Wentz will be at 1 p.m. today, July 1, at the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with the Rev. Arnold O. Schaap of Edwardsburg, Mich., officiating. Committal services will follow at Silverbrook cemetery, Niles.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions in memory of Mr. Wentz may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
Arden F. Aumack

ELKHART - Arden F. Aumack, 72, of 26103 North Shore Drive, died Friday in Elkhart General Hospital. Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Armstrong of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Thomas of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and a brother, Ferris Jr. of Three Rivers. BUCHANAN - Alma Mary Dies, 76, of 715 Roe St., died Sunday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Survivors include her husband, Jacob; a daughter, Jacqueline Wilson of Buchanan; a son, Larry of Buchanan; six sisters, Esther Scriven of California, Violet Shafer and Florence Frizler, both of Colorado, Helen Dies of New Carlisle, Lucille Amen of Chicago and Marlene Kubal of Minnesota; and six brothers, Jenry, Alvin, Victor, Leland, Jerry and Donald Amen, all of Colorado.
