Survivors include his wife, Sylvia (Ruffing); six daughters, JoLynn Listenberger, Vivian Bush and Vera Reichard, all of Culver, Vicki Swizek of Granger, Sandra Holcomb of Leiters Ford and Ellen DeWitt of Argos; a son, David of Rochester; a stepdaughter, Doris Hooker of Plymouth; a stepson, David Stayton of Plymouth; and two sisters, Miriam Buss of Bremen and Joan Nicely of Hastings, Mich. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Union Church of the Brethren. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Bonine Funeral Home.

ELKHART - - Grigorij I. Birutschenko, 73, of Prairie Street, died Tuesday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Johanna (Hennebach); four daughters, Anita Lewallen of Plymouth, Sena Birutschenko of Anchorage, Alaska, and Marta Francis and Sonja Szilagyi, both of South Bend; and two sisters and a brother. There will be no visitation or services. McGann Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

ELKHART - - Willene L. Bontrager, 87, of 1427 Laurel St., died Tuesday in her home. Survivors include three sons, David A. of Elkhart, William D. "Bill" of Hesperus, Colo., and Charles E. of Bremerton, Wash.; and a sister, Dorothy Burkhardt of Minneapolis. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Rice cemetery. BREMEN - - Mary Elizabeth Daumer, 82, of Alden Town Manor, Cicero, Ill., formerly of Bremen, died Monday in the nursing home. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly J. Sopiarz of Oak Lawn, Ill., and Eva Marie Witwer of Bremen; and two sons, Robert W. Jr. of South Bend and Rodney Lee of Valparaiso. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bremen cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Herman; five daughters, Betty Eddy of Eau Claire, Barbara Olson of Bear Lake, Mich., Phylis Hauch of Sodus and Ruth Schacknies and Patricia Schmaltz of Berrien Springs; a sister, Emily Clem of Jackson, Mich.; and a brother, Jake Busick of Buchanan. Erwin C. Aranowski

Erwin C. Aranowski, 79, of Peashway, died Thursday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Aranowski was born on Aug. 5, 1919, in South Bend, Ind., to Casimer J. and Nellie (Skarupinski) Aranowski, and was a lifelong area resident. Before his retirement, he was a Certified Public Accountant, and also an instructor at the University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Aranowski is survived by a brother, George (Carolyn) Aranowski of South Bend; a sister, Loretta Chillag of South Bend; five nieces and nephews, Nancy (Mark) Chillag - Mongird of Menlo Park, Calif., Mark (Debbie) Chillag of Coppell, Texas, Jim Aranowski of South Bend, Susan (Judd) Hansen of Long Lake, Ill., and David (Nellie) Aranowski of Granger, Ind.
Preceding Mr. Aranowski in death was a sister, Lucille Coveleski, who died on Nov. 21, 1994.
Mr. Aranowski was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of the M.R. Falcons and a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Family and friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. on Sunday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph cemetery.
