Robert L. Moyer

PLYMOUTH - Robert Lee "Bob" Moyer, 69, of 8878 King Road, Plymouth, died at his residence on Tuesday, January 26, 1999, at 4 p.m. Bob, a Plymouth resident, coming from Grass Creek and Lucerne, Ind., in 1950, died from an illness related to two strokes.
Born on January 7, 1930, in Royal Center, Ind., the son of Everett and Eva Costello Moyer, he was a 1947 graduate of Grass Creek High School.
A member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, from 1951 to 1953, he played the Sousaphone in the Army Band.
On Oct. 6, 1950, in the old First United Methodist Church parsonage on N. Michigan Street, Bob and Luella M. Zehner were married
.
He worked for Breeding's Farm Supply and then for the Moorman Manufacturing Company selling livestock feed directly to farmers in Marshall and St. Joseph Counties for 27 1/2 years, retiring in 1986. He was recognized as one of the top 100 salesmen in the nation for a number of years.
Bob was a square - dance caller for the Rural Youth organization. He was a Marshall County 4 - H leader for 5 years and a member of the Marshall County Pork Producers. He served on the Future Farmers of America Vocational Ag. Advisory Board for several years.
A lifetime farmer, he loved to fish and hunt, and was an avid mushroom hunter.
Bob is survived by Luella, his wife of 48 years, two daughters, three sons and their families. His daughters are: Yvonne and Gerald Quint and Diane Johnson, all of Plymouth. His sons are Jim Moyer of Argos, Doug Moyer of Madison Wis., and Neil Moyer of Plymouth.
Twelve grandchildren; one great - grandson; a brother, George and Janet Moyer of Union, Mich.; and two sisters, Marlene Jones of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Joan and Harlan Truax of Pittsboro, Ind., also survive.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and Mark, a brother.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Johnson - Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 29, 1999, in the funeral home. The Rev. James T. Liebnow, pastor of the United Church of Christ, will conduct the services. Burial will follow in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth, with full military honors by the Plymouth VFW #1162.
Memorial gifts in Bob's name may be made to the Marshall County Home Health Care.
Josephine Naumowicz
July 5, 1905 - Jan. 27, 1999
Josephine (Josefa) Naumowicz, 93, of S. Brookfield Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, in her residence.
She was born on July 5, 1905, in Poland, and lived in this area for fifty years, coming from Texas.
She was married
on Oct. 26, 1926, in Poland, as Josefa Donasewicz, to Sylvester J. Naumowicz, who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1980.
Mrs. Naumowicz is survived by two daughters, Emilia Kolesnik and Leokadia Lesniewski, both of South Bend; and by five grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph cemetery.
Robert J. Noble
Nov. 25, 1913 - Jan. 24, 1999
Robert J. Noble, 85, of Chester Street, South Bend, Ind., died following an illness at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, in Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Noble was born on Nov. 25, 1913, in Woonsocket, S.D., to Ralph and Iva (Staley) Noble, and had lived in Rapid City, S.D., and Decatur, Ill., prior to moving to South Bend in 1960.
On Nov. 9, 1946 in Pierre, S.D., he married
Harriet Stakke, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey R. (Joan) Noble of Naples, Fla., and Gregory C. Noble of South Bend; four granddaughters, Hillary and Sydney Noble, both of Naples, and Angela and Emily Noble, both of South Bend; a sister, Alida Lindaman of Visalia, Calif.
He retired in 1980 from Cole and Associates as a civil engineer in the Sanitary Engineering Department and had worked at Lawson - Fisher Associates until Christmas of 1998. He was also employed in the Civil Corps of Engineers from 1940 to 1945.
Mr. Noble was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Council Oak Lodge #745 F & AM, Royal Arch Masons, Chapter 29, Knights Templar Commandry 13, South Bend Council #82 Royal and Select Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Orak Shine of Michigan City, South Bend Shrine Club, Shrine Band, Elks Lodge #235, South Bend Lions Club, and was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in Grace United Methodist, 3012 S. Twyckenham Drive, with Rev. Amy Covington officiating. Cremation will take place at the Michiana Crematory.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street.

Louise C. Pier
Jan. 30, 1922 - Jan. 26, 1999
Louise Cousins Pier, 76, of Weaverville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in Memorial Mission Hospital, Asheville, N.C.
Mrs. Pier was born on Jan. 30, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, and resided for most of her life in South Bend, Ind.
She attended Madison and Muessel grade schools and graduated from Central High School, all of South Bend. Louise competed on the high school swim team and held the championship for the backstroke.
On Dec. 30, 1941, Louise and Richard L. Pier were married
in South Bend, and recently commemorated their 58th anniversary.
Mrs. Pier's business career included ownership and operation with her husband of Scot - Mar, Inc., in South Bend, and she was credit manager of Boca Raton Hospital, Boca Raton, Fla., at the time of her retirement.
A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Louise is survived by her husband, Richard L. Pier; three children, Scott T. Pier of South Bend, Marilyn Louise Nace of Winston - Salem, N.C., and Ann Pier LeMieux of Asheville, N.C. Mrs. Pier had seven grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 6, 1999, in the home of Mr. Pier, 109 Chandler Branch Road, Weaverville, N.C.

Helen E. Redling
Sept. 2, 1913 - Jan. 25, 1999
SOUTH BEND - Helen E. Redling, 85, of 3602 S. Ironwood, formerly of 1629 S. Kendall Street, passed away at 3:05 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
Helen was born on Sept. 2, 1913, in South Bend, Ind., to George and Maria Nemes, who both preceded her in death. She was employed by Wilson Brothers. On Sept. 20, 1941, in South Bend, as Helen Nemes, she married
Daniel J. Redling, who also preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1986.
She is survived by three brothers, Andrew Nemes and Joseph Nemes, both of South Bend, and Albert (Leona) Nemes of Tucson, Ariz.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, in Immanuel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue.

Mary T. Sauer
March 17, 1921 - Jan. 26, 1999
Mary Theresa Sauer, 77, of U.S. 20, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Mrs. Sauer was born on March 17, 1921, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late Emil and Madeline (DeSerranno) Van Wynsberghe. She was a lifelong area resident. In 1939, in South Bend, as the former Mary Van Wynsberghe, she married
Frank Joseph Sauer, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sauer is survived by a sister, Delores (Richard) Wilson of South Bend; three nieces, Janice Kent, Julie Allouch and Joyce (Michael) Davis; a nephew, Lawrence (Sally) Weeks; and four grand - nieces, Monica Davis, Jessica Davis, Melissa Croteau and Meranda Canady.
Mrs. Sauer was employed by Sears Roebuck & Company in the credit department until her retirement in 1978. Previous to her employment with Sears Roebuck & Company, she worked for Berg Jewelry Store, South Bend.
Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Earl Rynearson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery, South Bend.

Sevilla L. Sherk
Feb. 25, 1914 - Jan. 26, 1999
Sevilla L. Sherk, 84, of Laurel Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in St. Joseph Community Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1914, in Milford, Ind., and had lived in this area most of her life.
She retired as a key punch operator having worked at Wheelbrator, Studebaker and retiring from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Sevilla was a member of the former Boots and Saddle Club, and St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Sevilla married
John D. May in St. Peter Lutheran Church on July 24, 1935. He died on Feb. 3, 1950. She then married
Harold Sherk in 1971. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Maudie (Barker) Rush; a daughter, Patricia Pauline on April 27, 1972; and by two sisters, Gertrude King on Dec. 28, 1979, and Joy Andrews on Jan. 18, 1999.
Sevilla is survived by a daughter, Gloria McLoughlin of Mishawaka; a son, John Henry May of Osceola, Ind.; eight grandchildren, 13 great - grandchildren and one great - great - grandchild; and by her sister, Marguerite May of Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf officiating.

ST. JOSEPH - David E. Agay, 63, of East Marquette Woods Road, died Saturday in Watervliet Community Hospital, after an illness. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; a daughter, Mary Agay of Kalamazoo; and a son, Milton of St. Joseph. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Ronald; three sons, Brian and Timothy, both of Michigan City, and Michael of Gainesville, Fla.; and a brother, Robert Moats of Westminster, Colo. PLYMOUTH - Lowell J. Brown, 75, of 9097 N. Gumwood Road, died Sunday in VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne. Survivors include two daughters, Marla Brown of Andrews, Ind., and Jody Brown of Plymouth; a son, Daniel of Plymouth; and two sisters, Beatrice Miller of Tyner and Christena Rinkenberg of Plymouth.
