Richard Lanier
Highland, Calif., resident Richard D. Lanier died Saturday, Nov. 15 in Highland, Calif. He was 59.
He was a retired detective for the San Bernardino, Calif., Sheriff's Department.
Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Rieta Ann (Scales) Lanier, in March 2002; his father, William Lanier, in 1997; and a brother, Dan Lanier, in 1997.
He is survived by his mother, Louise Lanier of Boonville; his wife, Sherron Lanier of Highland, Calif.; three sons, Brian McGlothlin of Austin, Texas, Barry McGlothlin of Charlestown, and Timothy Lanier of Indianapolis; four daughters, Ilene Joslin of Georgetown, Tanya Irwin of Yucca Valley, Calif., Tracy Brown of Greenville, S.C., and Suzanne Kish of San Bernardino, Calif.; one sister, Debra Grosvenor of Tennyson; one brother, David Lanier of Wichita, Kan.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville, with burial in the Lynnville Cemetery.
Adam Broshears
Former Chandler resident Adam Grover Broshears died Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Heron Pointe Health Center in Brooksville, Fla. He was 90.
He worked at International Steel Company in Evansville for 35 years until his retirement in 1971, when he moved to Brooksville, Fla.
Adam was preceded in death by his wife, Rady (Ashby), in 1993, two children and six grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Wayne Yeager of Richland, Joyce and Charles Taylor of Monticello, Ky., and Janice and Earl Sweatt of Brooksville, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Adam L. and Loretta Broshears of Quincy, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 29 at Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville, with a graveside service immediately following at the Folsomville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
James Hettinger
Newburgh resident James Hettinger died Friday, Feb. 2, at his home from complications of cancer. He was 69.
He was a carpet salesman for Carpet One and Unclaimed Freight.
He was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Hettinger; a son, Steven Hettinger of Nashville, Tenn.; stepmother, Elizabeth Hahn of Pesotom, Ill.; and a sister, Betty Hettinger of Tolono, Ill.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pesotom, Ill. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Quintin Emge
Evansville resident Quintin Frank Emge died Sunday, Feb. 4, at Deaconess Hospital. He was 88.
Survivors include his daughter, Jynelle Miller of Freesoil, Mich.; five sons, Thomas of Newburgh, Gerald of Placentia, Calif., Quintin Frank Jr. of Chicago, Christopher of Evansville and John of Renton, Wash.; a sister, Joanna McMinn of Paducah, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, continued at S.t Benedict Cathedral. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor or St. Vincent de Paul.
Emma McCarty
Evansville resident Emma M. McCarty died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the home of her grandson, Scott Schweikhart of Evansville. She was 98.
Other survivors include two sisters, Valada Foster of Evansville and Kathryn Simpson of Newburgh; a granddaughter, Donna Drone; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 8, at Pierre Funeral Home. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Zdenka Wurm
Newburgh resident Zdenka Wurm died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at her home. She was 93.
Survivors include her daughter, Dagmar Brossman of Newburgh; and a granddaughter, Karen Brossman.

Lewis Riley
Chandler resident Lewis Ern Riley died Wednesday, Jan. 24, at his home in New Port Richey, Fla. He was 82.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kalikin of Akron, Ohio and Gail Bair of Durand, Mich.; a son, Jerry of Unadilla, Ga.; two brothers, Edsel of Cape Coral, Fla., and Justice of Linn, Mo.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 10, at Park Lawn Cemetery
in Evansville. Browning Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Clarence Seibert
Evansville resident Clarence H. Seibert died Sunday, Feb. 4, at his home of an apparent heart attack. H was 81.
Survivors include six sisters, Henrietta Gee of Cynthiana, Rosella Blackford of Boonville, Mary Ann Cheancy of Evansville, Martha Trent of Wadesville and Margaret Gentry and Betty Sokeland, both of Owensville; a brother, Vincent Seibert of Poesyville; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 10, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, continued at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, with military rites.
Melvin Smart
Newburgh resident Melvin E. Smart died Thursday, Feb. 8, at his home. He was 93.
Survivors include a son, David M. of Largo, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jenae and Danielle Smart; a niece; and John Mueller, who cared for him.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 12, at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Carolyn Stephenson
Lafayette resident Carolyn R. (Holmes) Stephenson died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at her home. She was 61.
Survivors include two daughters, Kerry Jacoby of Lafayette and Amy Stephenson of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, John of Evansville and Alexander of Newburgh; and two grandchildren, Neil and Eric Jacoby.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at First Assembly of God Church. The body was cremated.

Lawrence Wright
Evansville resident Lawrence "Larry" I. Wright died of heart complications Thursday, Feb. 8, at Deaconess Hospital. He was 80.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce of Elberfeld and Gordon of Evansville; and three grandchildren, Hillary and Logan Wright and Tammy Tesdahl.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 12, at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel. Burial was in Alexander Memorial Park, with military rites.
James Fisher
Jeffersonville resident James Stewart Fisher died Saturday, Feb. 10, at his home. He was 84.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Rudwell and Mary Ann Fisher, both of Jeffersonville; three sons, Roger and Glenn, both of Jeffersonville and Larry of Newburgh; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. Burial as in Walnut Ridge Cemetery
there.
