ROCHESTER - William "Bill" Goodman, 77, of Hobart, Ind., formerly of Rochester, died Sunday in St. Mary's Medical Center after an illness. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Higgin and Debra Goodman, both of Hobart; three sons, William D. of Hobart, Bruce of Indianapolis and Joseph of Rochester; two sisters, Jeanne Watson and Ruth South, both of Plymouth; and two brothers, Robert of Rochester and Richard of Fort Wayne. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday, and a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

KNOX - Matilda Grigsby, 81, of 9860 E. County Road 50 South, died Sunday in her home of natural causes. Survivors include her husband Rebel; three daughters, Mary Noble of North Judson, Bitha Bickle and Patricia Ingersoll, both of Knox; and five sons, Arnold Miller of Vancleve, Ky., Willie Miller of Campton, Ky., Karue Miller of Knox, Stanley Grigsby of Grovertown, Ind., and Wallace Grigsby of Chicago. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the M.C. Smith Funeral Home, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

LAPORTE - Dorothy M. Harris, 82, of 91 Keston Elm Drive, died Monday in LaPorte Hospital of natural causes. Survivors include her husband James; a daughter, Martha Ann Goebel of Godfrey, Ill.; a son, David of Lakeville; a sister, Elenore Tannenbaum of LaJolla, Calif.; and a brother, Richard Wyczawski of Denver. ELKHART - Theresa P. Owensby, 22, of 1100 Grant St., was reported missing on March 27, 1993. Remains were found on July 24, 1997, and were recently confirmed as belonging to Theresa Owensby by Jeanette Albert, Elkhart County Coroner, who is investigating the cause of death. Survivors include her husband, Harvey W.; a son, Lucas W. at home; her mother, Sue Ann Ferguson of Elkhart; her father, Thomas Tidwell of Cullman, Ala.; a sister, Karen S. Ferguson of Elkhart; and a brother, Marlon J. Tidwell of Elkhart. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Billings Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Survivors include his mother, Debra Nusbaum of South Bend; his father, Christopher Vergon of Lyles, Tenn.; and a sister, Jennifer L. Blahnik of Florida. Calvin R. Butler

KNOX - Calvin R. Butler, 50, of 0404 S. County Road 800 East, Knox, Ind., passed away after a sudden illness at 7:24 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Ind.
Mr. Butler was born on Nov. 12, 1948, in Newberry, Mich., to Cecil and Irene (Kirkpatrick) Butler, and lived in the Knox area most of his life. He was an employee of the United Beverages Company, South Bend, Ind.
On March 21, 1998, in Knox, he was married
to Rebecca Nelson, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Kelly Butler of Plymouth; two sons, Chayne of Plymouth and Chris of the United States Navy, stationed at Monterey, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Katie Nelson of Knox; his mother, Irene Butler of Plymouth; a sister, Malva (John) Fear of Argos, Ind.; three brothers, Ben of Flagstaff, Ariz., Frank (Phyllis) of Koontz Lake, Ind., and Bruce (Kathy) of Wichita, Kan.; two grandsons, Benjamin Lapp and Jacob Lapp; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. (EST) on Thursday in the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Balje officiating. Burial will be in Eagle Creek cemetery, Knox.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday in the funeral home.
