SOUTH BEND - - Hermine "Minka" Mayer, 93, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died June 19 in Fort Lauderdale. Services were held in Lighthouse Point, Fla. Kraeer Funeral Home, Pompano Beach, Fla., handled arrangements.

Donn B. Patten

June 1, 1921 - July 17, 1998

OSCEOLA - - Donn B. Patten, 77, of Pierce Road, died Friday in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa. Survivors include his wife, Betty J.; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Patten of South Bend; and a son, Michael Lee of Osceola. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola, where friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and a Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Robert M. Sarno

July 17, 1923 - July 16, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Robert M. Sarno, 74, of Cassopolis, formerly of South Bend, died Thursday in the home of his daughter in Nappanee. Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Arick of Nappanee and Lillian A. Bradley of Goshen; a son, Ernest M. of Cassopolis; and a sister, Helen Holdren of South Charleston, W.Va. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Gleo E. Stump

Dec. 10, 1915 - July 16, 1998

LAKEVILLE - - Gleo E. Stump, 82, of 23801 Stanton Road, died Thursday in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Walkerton. Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Woodworth of Plymouth; a son, Herbert of Lakeville; two sisters, Genevieve Beron of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Ruth Freusber of Osceola; and three brothers, Richard Naragon of Elkhart, Gerald Naragon of Osceola and Wilbur Naragon of Wasauke, Wis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, where friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Thomas H. Thompson

Feb. 3, 1906 - July 16, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Thomas Howard Thompson, 92, of Hickory Road, died Thursday in Regency Place. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Campbell of South Bend and Patricia Jaqua of Seminole, Fla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, where friends may call two hours before services.

Joseph Woodham

Feb. 25, 1964 - July 16, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Joseph Woodham, 34, of Howard Street, died Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Survivors include his mother, Mary Anne Scott of South Bend; a sister, Michele Woodham of South Bend; and a brother, Michael of South Bend. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Calvary Baptist Church. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

VANDALIA - - Josephine B. Adair, 90, of 60609 S. Main St., died Thursday in Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis, where friends may call one hour before services.

Feb. 18, 1920 - July 16, 1998

WARSAW - - John Robert "Bob" Bayne, 78, of 604 E. Main St., died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday in his home. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Lamb of Leesburg; a son, Rick J. of Warsaw; and a brother, Jim of Warsaw. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in McHatton - Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, where friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Aug. 1, 1937 - July 6, 1998

NORTH WEBSTER - - Laura Louise Butts, 60, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of North Webster, died at 12:31 a.m. July 6 in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Heyn of Fort Wayne and Jill Butts of North Fort Myers; and a son, Jeff of St. Joseph. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Eastlund Funeral Home - Harris Chapel, where friends may call one half - hour before services.

Anthony J.G. Chavez

March 22, 1992 - July 16, 1998

LAPORTE - - Anthony J.G. Chavez, 6, of 908 National Court, drowned at 3:28 p.m. Thursday in Washington Park, Michigan City. Survivors include his parents, Debra and Cornelio Chavez of LaPorte; four sisters, Gina R. Chavez of Michigan City and Brittney Chavez, Kim R. Sofranko and Stephanie Martinez, all of LaPorte; seven brothers, Michael A. Chavez, Michael A. Rajkovic and Randall R. Brown, all of LaPorte, and Carl J. Chavez, Marc S. Chavez, Ryan R. Chavez and Alex Chavez, all of Michigan City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Essling Funeral Home and one hour before services Monday in the church.

NORTH JUDSON - - Vera Chesak, 88, of 709 W. Laurel St., died Thursday in Countryside Place Nursing Home, Knox. Survivors include two brothers, Joe Chesak of Medaryville and Otto Chesak of North Judson. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in O'Donnell Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours before services.

Leanna J. Dickenson

June 13, 1938 - July 17, 1998

FRANCESVILLE - - Leanna J. Dickenson, 60, of Violet and Lynn streets, died Friday in her home. Survivors include her husband, Roger; two daughters, Rana Rodeffer of Mooreland, Ind., and Rae J. Boehning of Francesville; a son, Ryan of Winamac; her mother, Maxine Cain of Anderson, Ind.; three sisters, Janet Stout of Alaska, Beverly Oliver of California and Connie Meredith of Lapel, Ind.; and five brothers, Ronnie, Gary, Randy and Danny Cain, all of Anderson, and Kim Cain of Indianapolis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Query - Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville.

KNOX - - Vance A. Good Sr., 92, of 103 E. John St., died Thursday in his home. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Matt of Clarksville, Ind.; a son, Vance A. Good Jr. of Ligonier; and a brother, Robert of Hamlet. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today in M.C. Smith Funeral Home.

SHIPSHEWANA - - Henry F. Graber, 83, of 0330 S. Indiana 5, died Thursday in his home. Survivors include five daughters, Anna Bontrager of Dalton, Wis., Elsie Yoder of LaGrange, Ruby Yoder and Fannie Eash, both of Topeka, and Edna Bontrager of Hillsboro, Wis.; five sons, Elmer of Bloomfield, Iowa, Amos and Harley, both of Sedro Woolley, Wash., Ernest of Hillsboro, Wis., and Orva of Shipshewana; two sisters, Edna Bontrager of Nappanee and Anna Miller of Goshen; and four brothers, Elmer of Seymour, Ind., Simon of Middlebury, Ora of Bronson, Mich., and Fernandis of LaGrange. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the family residence, where friends may call after noon today and all day Sunday. Frurip - May Funeral Home, LaGrange, is handling arrangements.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Frurip - May Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

KNOX - - Elmer "Joe" Lind, 72, of 6013 S. Indiana 10, died Friday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Violet (Biro); and a brother, James of Chicago. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in M.C. Smith Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Helen B. Madigan

April 11, 1918 - July 16, 1998

GOSHEN - - Helen B. Madigan, 80, of Veedersburg, Ind., formerly of Goshen, died Thursday in her home. She is survived by two sons, William B. of Goshen and James J. of Costa Mesa, Calif. Graveside services will be on Monday at Beacon Hill cemetery, Covington, Ind. Rieth, Rohrer & Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, is handling arrangements.
