Survivors include her husband, Sylvester; two daughters, Kathy Poynter and Deborah King, both of South Bend; a son, David of LaPorte; her mother Edna Tarnow of Ocala; two sisters, Nancy Trafelet of LaPorte and Barbara Zeedyk of South Bend; and four brothers, Herbert and Ward Tarnow, both of LaPorte, Gerald Tarnow of Ocala and Harold Tarnow of Rolling Prairie. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Haverstock Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until services Wednesday.

ELKHART - Richard L. Sechowski, 90, of East Bristol Street, died Wednesday in East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by his son, Richard M. of Elkhart; four sisters, Esther Mumaw, Evelyn Deka, Virginia Tomaszewski and Alice Cukrowicz, all of Mishawaka; and four brothers, Jerome Sechowski, Benny Szczechowski and Clarence Szczechowski, all of South Bend and Daniel Szczechowski of Mishawaka. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, where friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today and a rosary will be said at 3 p.m.

ELKHART - Walter D. Smith, 44, of 1001 W. Hively Ave., died at 7:32 p.m. Thursday in Rosewood Terrace after an illness. Survivors include his wife, Sheila D. of Phoenix; a daughter, Stacy D. Smith of Topeka, Kan.; and three sons, Walter D. Jr. and Steven D., both of Phoenix, and Warren D. of Jackson, Miss.; his father, John I. of Chandler, Ariz. There is no visitation.
