Jean (Terrell) of Angola; two sisters, Terri Nodine of LaGrange and Jackie Bork of Angola; and a brother, Gregory A. of Pleasant Lake, Ind. DOWAGIAC - Joseph Merrill, 75, of 201 Jefferson St., died Thursday in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Battle Creek, of natural causes. Survivors include his wife Isabel; two daughters, Kathy Peterson of Dowagiac and Lorene Lundy of Niles; and six sisters, Aletha Archer, Alice Sieber, Betty Schoetzow, Mildred Miller, Louise Christians and Marion Shemick. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Groner Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

SOUTH BEND - Adene Louise Mullen, 81, of Decatur, Ill, formerly of South Bend, died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday in the Manor Care Nursing Home. Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Wetter of Knoxville, Tenn., Lynn Wampler of Martinsville, Ind., Sheila Mullen of South Bend and Carla Freeman of Decatur. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, Ind. There will be no visitation. The J. J. PIERCETON - Joshua Malaquias Ochoa, 2 weeks old, of 307 E. Keith St., died at 9 p.m. Wednesday in Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, of natural causes. Survivors include his parents, Deanna Gayle (Johnson) and Hector Ochoa of Pierceton; and a brother, Jeremiah Isaias at home. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the New Life Christian Church, Warsaw. SOUTH BEND - Fernando Orozco, 44, of South Michigan Street, died at 11:29 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital, as a result of a gunshot wound. The death has been ruled a homicide by Deputy Coroner Charles Hurley. Survivors include his wife, Cresenciana (Marquez); his mother, Juanita Balderas of Mexico; two sisters, Aurora Covaruvias and Rosa Orozco, both of Mexico; and a brother, Carlos Covaruvias of Lagunita Queretaro, Mexico. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Stephen Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Survivors include his wife Beverly; two daughters, Candy Czerwinski of Orland Park, Ill., and Kimberly Antoneitti of Tinley Park, Ill.; three sons, Dan of Medaryville, Michael of Davenport, Iowa, and Jake of Watseka, Ill.; and a brother, Robert of Lincoln, Neb. SOUTH BEND - Audrey M. Weber, 69, of East Fairington Circle, died at 5 a.m. Friday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Walter L. Blade
March 10, 1937 - Dec. 8, 1998
Walter L. "Sonny" Blade, 61, of Roosevelt Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in his residence.
He was born on March 10, 1937, in Muskegon, Mich., to Wilma (Newton) and Walter G. Blade, both of whom preceded him in death.
On July 4, 1969, in South Bend, he married
Doris Haas, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Deborah Hardy and Cathleen Warrell, both of South Bend; four granddaughters, Jamie Gross, Summer Crandell, Alexa Henry and Makenzi Warrell, all of South Bend; a grandson, Tyler Henry of South Bend; two great - grandsons, Dakota and Sonny Gross, both of South Bend; a great - granddaughter, Shyann Gross of South Bend; and by a sister, Sandra Van Alstine of South Bend.
Mr. Blade was a lift truck mechanic for Material Handling in South Bend. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Teamsters Local 364 and was an associate member of M.R. Falcons.
Services for Mr. Blade will be at 1 p.m. on Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. Rev. David Doane of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Walter L. Blade Memorial Fund, c/o First Source Bank.
Walter L. "Sonny" Blade had many friends and his family was very fond of him. He will be greatly missed.
Marzetta Burke

Marzetta Burke, 73, of Cleveland Road, passed away unexpectedly at 11:37 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998.
She was born in South Bend, Ind., to the late Edward and Sadie (Harris) Smith on February 2, 1925. On February 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Burke, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 13, 1993. They were blessed with four children.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Patricia (Chip) Dempsey, Jr., of Mishawaka, Ind., Bernadette (Tom) Taylor and Marie (Robert) Chynoweth, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; a son, Kenneth (Lisa) Burke, Jr., of Orlando, Fla.; her mother, Sadie Smith of South Bend; two sisters, Dorothy White of South Bend and Phyllis Walker of LaVerne, Calif.; a brother, Edward Smith, Jr., of South Bend; nine grandchildren, Lance Dempsey of Charlotte, N.C., Tiffaney Dempsey of Mishawaka, Lori Pope of Stockbridge, Ga., Julian Pope of Titusville, Fla, Aren and Brianna Chynoweth of Indianapolis, and Brandon, Alyson, and Colin Burke, all of Orlando; three sisters - in - law, Mahalath F. Thompson and Frances Thompson, both of Jamaica, and Edith Shepherd of England; and by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Burke was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend.
Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the McGann Funeral Homes, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Trina K. Cripe

Trina K. Cripe, 57, residing on Ozone Blvd., South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in her residence.
Mrs. Cripe was employed for six years with the South Bend Comm - unity School Corporation, having worked at McKinley Elementary School in Special Education. She was also a professional photographer and served as a photography teacher at Battell Center in Mishawaka, Ind.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1941, in Norfolk, Va., to the late Victor Frederick and Velma C. (Leach) Munson, and had lived in South Bend since 1957 coming from California.
On June 16, 1961, in South Side Church of God, South Bend, as Trina Munson, she married
Eugene R. Cripe, who survives.
She is also survived by three daughters, Kathleen Cripe and Jennifer Cripe, both of South Bend, and Karen Copen of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Joshua Michael Copen of Columbus; her mother - in - law, Minnie Cripe of South Bend; and by a sister - in - law, Ruth Ryan of South Bend.
Mrs. Cripe was a member of South Side Church of God, a board member of St. Joseph County Special Olympics and was an Aquatics Coach for the St. Joseph County Special Olympics. She received an Associate degree in photography from Ivy Tech.
Services for Mrs. Cripe will be at 2 p.m. on Friday in South Side Church of God, 61801 U.S. 31 South. Rev. Greg D. Crump, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery, Bremen, Ind.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. There will also be visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday in the church.

Marjorie J. Miner

Marjorie J. "Midge" Miner, 84, of 1342 Prospect Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away in her home at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
She was born on July 11, 1914, in Gobles, Mich., to the late Ernest F. and Sena (Sanford) Day.
On Sept. 21, 1931, in Plymouth, Ind., Midge married
Cleon G. Miner, who survives.
She is also survived by three daughters, Lynn Brandt and Sharon L. Dodson, both of Mishawaka, and Marjorie A. Town of Granger, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Midge was co - owner and vice president of Machinery Supply Company in Mishawaka, which she and her husband, Cleon founded in 1945. She was a member of the East United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, the Elks Lodge #235, and the South Bend Eagles.
Visitation will be in the Miner Home at 1342 Prospect Drive, Mishawaka, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the Thallemer - Goethals Funeral Home with Pastor Sheldon Grame officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or the Visiting Nurses Association.
Julius O'Neal, Jr.
Dec. 20, 1933 - Dec. 5, 1998
Julius O'Neal Jr., 64, of 1104 W. Donald Street, South Bend, Ind., departed this life at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
He was born to the union of Lillie Mae and Julius O'Neal, Sr. on Dec. 20, 1933, in Memphis, Tenn. Later the family moved to Natchez, Miss., where he united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Eveline Green, on May 16, 1955. To this union six children were born.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Eveline O'Neal; three daughters, Brenda (Michael) Gray of Natchez, Miss., Janice D. Kimbrough of South Bend and Andrea (Kerry) Paskell of Battle Creek, Mich.; two sons, Darnell (Mary) O'Neal of South Bend and Julius (Giszel) O'Neal III of Granger, Ind.; thirteen grandchildren, JacQuese McClain, Janiecesha O'Neal, Xavier O'Neal, Travis Odom, Jacinta O'Neal, Tekisha Odom, Rashawnda O'Neal, Joey Gray, Jamie Gray, Jeffton Kimbrough, Ricky Paskell, Devon Paskell and Denisha Paskell; two great - grandchildren; three sisters, Azora O'Neal of Brooklyn, N.Y., Beatrice King of Natchez, Miss., and Ernestine (Mickey) Molsby of Jackson, Miss.; four brothers, James (Ora) O'Neal of Memphis, Tenn., Edward (Lorene) O'Neal, Warren (Viola) O'Neal of South Bend and William O'Neal of Natchez, Miss.; and a host of foster children, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Lillie Mae and Julius O'Neal, Sr.; a daughter, Mildred O'Neal; a brother, Earl O'Neal; and by a sister, Jean Walker.
Mr. O'Neal professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Kingston A.M.E. Church in Natchez, Miss. After moving to South Bend in 1957, he united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Deacons for twenty - one years and as Chairman for eighteen years, Co - Chairman of the Building Committee, General Chairman of the Pastor's Anniversary Committee, Co - Captain of the March Rally and several other committees throughout the church.
In 1966, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal formed O'Neal's Trucking Company, Inc., where he served as President for twenty - five years. In 1982, he became President and CEO of B & J Excavation Co., Inc., where he served until the time of his death.
Mr. O'Neal touched the lives of many and will be forever missed, our loss is Heaven's gain. He will be remembered by many "as a man who loved and cherished GOD, his family, friends and the Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church Family."
Visitation services will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 101 N. Adams Street, South Bend. Final Services to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Arthur F. Reasor
April 19, 1900 - Dec. 6, 1998
Arthur Francis Reasor, 98, was born at home in South Bend, Indiana. He was the eldest son of Edward Irvin Reasor and Agnes Elizabeth Schneck.
On June 15, 1929, he married
Harriet Eliza Borden, who died on Nov. 7, 1978.
On Nov. 20, 1982, he married
Winifred Helen Poehlman Chunn, who survives.
He had two daughters, Kathryn Ann Anglin of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Peggy Beth Frierdich of Kanaohe, Hawaii. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth E. VanMeter of South Bend; and by a brother, Richard Robert Reasor, also of South Bend.
Arthur was preceded in death by five siblings, Jessie Florence Hertel, Marian Lucille McDonald, Agnes Glendora Olmstead, Marjory Louella Jackson and Edward Irvin Reasor, Jr.
Arthur graduated from Central High School in 1918. He was employed at the Indiana Lumber Company from 1918 to 1947, of which he was the president/treasurer from 1935 - 1947. He was a past member of the Stage Hands Union; an electrician at the Ready Theater, Niles, Mich.; and was the projectionist for the first full color motion picture shown at the Colfax Theater. He was also a licensed Real Estate Broker in South Bend.
He was a past secretary/treasurer of the Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan Retail Lumber Dealers Association and held the same position in the Optimist Club. He was a Life Member of the South Bend Historical Society, was a member of the Indiana Historical Society and the National Genealogy Society. Arthur had been a member of Grace Methodist Church for over 85 years, longer than any other member of the congregation.
Services for Arthur will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, South Bend. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday.

Thomas E. Sisk

Tom E. Sisk, 60, of West 100 South, Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:53 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, in Memorial Hosital, South Bend, Ind.
Tom was born on Aug. 21, 1938, in South Bend, to Glenn and Phoebe (Kamp) Sisk.
Tom worked for South Bend Pepsi Bottling Company from 1957 to 1968 and RACO in South Bend from 1968 to 1994. Tom was a self - taught musician and enjoyed all types of music. He was also a lover of classic cars.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cheryl Sisk. They were married
on July 7, 1990.
He had three children from a previous marriage to Katherine Gibson. Survivors include his mother, Phoebe Stajkowski of Mishawaka, Ind.; a sister, Norma Jaworski of Mishawaka; a son, Tom Sisk, Jr. of Mishawaka; four daughters, Julie Sisk (Richard Carpenter) of Koontz Lake, Ind., Lisa (Shawn) Carpenter of Warsaw, Jennifer Kissinger of South Bend and Melissa Kissinger of Pierceton, Ind.; six grandchildren, Jessica Sisk, Justin Turner, Victoria Carpenter, Kacie Carpenter, Tyler Dickson and Brittany Dickson.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was deeply loved and will be sincerely missed.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Erv Mize officiating.
