NILES - Delima R. Fuller, 85, of 1638 Howard St., died Sunday in the Lakeland Medical Center - Berrien Center, of natural causes. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. McKie of Stevensville and Theresa A. Beiring of Fairborn, Ohio; two sons, Charles L. and James F., both of Niles; and three sisters, Dorothy Hoese of Niles, and Mary Leighty and Catherine Warren, both of Indianapolis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mark's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Pifer - Smith Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Fay A. Gant

April 16, 1930 - Nov. 22, 1998

LAPORTE - Fay A. Gant, 68, of 1205 Andrew Ave., died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Dukes of Knox and Terry Newell of Cape Coral, Fla.; and two half sisters and one half brother, all of Cape Coral. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Haverstock Funeral Home, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today.

Cloyce H. Gunter

Sept. 1, 1919 - Nov. 22, 1998

MISHAWAKA - Cloyce Harrison Gunter, 79, of Stratford Place, Elkhart, formerly of Mishawaka, died Sunday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Survivors include his wife Ruby; a daughter, Nancy J. Curtis of Elkhart; a sister, Melba Fawley of Leesburg; and three brothers, Alton of Warsaw, Edward of Marcellus and Gale of Elkhart. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North.

David L. Huffman

April 4, 1957 - Nov. 21, 1998

SOUTH BEND - David L. Huffman, 41, of Naperville, Ill., formerly of South Bend, died Saturday following an automobile accident on Interstate 90 at mile marker 21 in Lake Station. Survivors include his wife, Cathy (Piha); a daughter, Jessica; a son, Jack; his mother, Mary Jo Huffman of Dallas; three sisters, Kathy of Dallas, Amy of Amarillo, Texas, and Susan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers, Mike of Nashua, N.H., and Tim, Richard and Steven, all of Dallas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Friedrich - Jones Funeral Home, Naperville, and 10:30 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

April 27, 1929 - Nov, 23, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Kenneth Jacobs, 69, of Dresden Drive, died Monday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Martha Joan (Kimmel); four daughters, Sandra Arndt of Cassopolis, Connie Bate of Florenceville, Ga., Cynthia Kirila of Fort Wayne and Karen Srmek of Niles; and two sons, Gregory of Mishawaka and Michael of New Carlisle. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Frances Kanczuzewski

April 18, 1894 - Nov. 22, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Frances Kanczuzewski, 104, of Hollywood Place, died Sunday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, Chester and Richard, both of South Bend. There is no visitation. Private services will be held. The Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, is handling arrangements.

Sadie E. Keranen

June 20, 1916 - Nov. 21, 1998

OSCEOLA - Sadie E. Keranen, 82, of Mohawk, Mich., formerly of Osceola, died Saturday in Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, Mich. Survivors include her husband, Lauri P.; a daughter, Patricia Takacs of Peekskill, N.Y.; and three sons, Lauri J. of Ossineke, Mich., Henry of Edwardsburg and Eugene of Osceola. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bethany Lutheran Church of Keweenaw. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home, Calumet, Mich.

Fausta Messner

Nov. 14, 1907 - Nov. 23, 1998

NAPPANEE - Fausta "Betty" Messner, 91, of 304 Randolph St., died Monday in Goshen General Hospital of natural causes. Survivors include a daughter, Helen Hoff of Elkhart; and two sons, Robert of Goshen and James of Bakersfield, Calif. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Thompson - Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Shirley Ondresky

March 20, 1937 - Nov. 22, 1998

GALIEN - Shirley Ondresky, 61, of Dayton Road, died Sunday in Lakeland Medical Center, Niles, of natural causes. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Grosse of Three Oaks and Gail Goodwin of Galien; two sons, John of Galien and Wayne of Niles; and a sister, Hazel Marsh of Galien. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Galien United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Pobocik Funeral Home, Connelly - Noble Chapel, Three Oaks.

Mary Paul

April 4, 1912 - Nov. 17, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Mary Paul, 86, of 316 S. St. Joseph St., died Nov. 17 in Meridian Health Care Center of natural causes. Survivors include three brothers, Willie Smith of South Bend, and Love Cornell Jr. and Elder John Cornell, both of St. Louis. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Clark Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours before services.

Dwight C. Pippenger

May 4, 1923 - Nov. 23, 1998

WALKERTON - Dwight C. Pippenger, 75, of 226 Rose Road, died Monday in his home of an apparent heart attack. Survivors include his wife, Delores L. (Roush); a son, Richard L. of Walkerton; and two brothers, John of Plymouth and Raymond of Spring Hill, Fla. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Blissville Church of the Brethren, Plymouth. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Johnson - Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, where an Oddfellows memorial service will be held at 8 p.m., and from one hour before services Friday in the church.

SOUTH BEND - Vivian J. Scroggs, 48, of Darden Road, died Sunday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, David D.; three daughters, Jodi Scroggs, Patty DeLeon and Kelly Lesiuk, all of South Bend; a son, Jason of South Bend; her mother, Mildred Woods of South Bend; and a brother, Kenneth Woods of South Bend. Services will be at noon Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Sister M. Wilma Sehr

DONALDSON - Sister M. Wilma Sehr, formerly Sister M. Hedwigis, 86, of the Catherine Kasper Home, died Sunday in the home of natural causes. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Catherine Kasper Chapel, where an Evensong will be said at 7 p.m. today, and where friends may call from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The Johnson - Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is handling arrangements.

Martha C. Strong

Feb. 2, 1931 - Nov. 23, 1998

ELKHART - Martha C. Strong, 67, of 2601 Oakland Ave., died Monday in Rosewood Terrace of natural causes. Survivors include three daughters, Irene Ostrom of Edwardsburg, Romaine Smith of LaGrange and Carol Huffman of Elkhart; six sons, Edgar Jr. of Goshen, William, George and James, all of Elkhart, Donald of Reeders, Pa., and David of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Ed Hull of Strausburg, Pa., and Carl Hull of Elkhart. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hartzler - Gutermuth - Inman Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

SOUTH BEND - Chester Strykul, 85, of South Wise Circle, died Sunday in his home after an illness. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Vincek of Stevensville; two sons, Conrad of Woodland, Calif., and David of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sisters, Helen Coddens of North Liberty, Anna Schilens of Anaheim, Calif., and Sophie Clements of South Bend; and four brothers, John of Orlando, Fla., Joseph and Daniel, both of Lakeville, and Julius of South Bend. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jude Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Dr. Phillip J. VanDenBerg

NILES - Dr. Phillip John VanDenBerg, D.D.S., 51, of 901 Weesaw Road, died Sunday in Lakeland Medical Center, Niles, of natural causes. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A. (Webster); two daughters, Sarah Glass of Richmond, Va., and Lauren VanDenBerg of Notre Dame; a son, Tim of Washington, D.C.; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Max VanDenBerg of Kalamazoo; a sister, Julie Grausam of Grand Rapids; and a brother, Allan of Seabrook Island, S.C. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Wesley United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Halbritter Funeral Home.
