Clarence Davis
Clarence Lee Davis, 81, 2339 Edward Drive, died at 4:42 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Howard Community Hospital. Born May 4, 1919, Bald Knob, Ark., he was the son of George Lee and Rachel (Stuckey) Davis. On Oct. 16, 1941, in Bald Knob, Ark., White County, Ark., he married
Pauline (Nelson) Davis, who survives.
He was a carpenter and a homebuilder. He was a life member of the Howard County Home Builders Association and a member of the Alto United Methodist Church. He loved music, playing the guitar and singing in the church choir and spending time with children. He built homes for more than 40 years and enjoyed it.
Surviving are his wife; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim Paul and Pam David and Eddie Lee Davis, all of Kokomo; a daughter, Carolyn Ann Fisher, Kokomo; brother, Cleveland Davis, California; a granddaughter, Nichole Lynn Fisher, Kokomo; two step-grandchildren, Graig and Amanda Wolf; a step-great-grandchild, Shania Wolf; an adopted granddaughter, Emily Crume; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road. The Rev. Herman Surber will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Mausoleum. Claude Fisher
Claude Hamilton Fisher, 102, Windsor Estates, Kokomo, a former Logansport resident, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at the facility. Born July 30, 1898, in Mattoon, Ill., he was the son of Hamilton and Emma (Coon) Fisher. On Oct. 14, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., he married
Pauline Hayes, who preceded him in death Oct. 4, 1952. On May 30, 1961, in Logansport, he married
Agnes Rehwald, who died Oct. 4, 1997.
Claude and Pauline were co-owners and operators of the W. E. Hayes Feed and Hardware Store at 605 N. Washington St., in Kokomo from 1933 until 1947. He then became a commercial sign designer at Kolux Corp., retiring in 1968 at the age of 70.
Until his death, he was the oldest living member of the First Congregational Christian Church, where he had served as treasurer of the church during the Depression. He also was actively involved with the youth activities of the church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 66 in Lansing, Mich., and he served in the Army during World War I. He was a creative and artistic man and actually built his own automobile at the age of 14. He had a keen mind and entertained visitors with tales of the past until a few weeks before his death. He loved relating history and was featured in the Kokomo Tribune in December of 1998 with a full-page article.
Surviving are one daughter, Marjorie L. Longshore, Kokomo; two stepsons and their wives, Leroy P. and Lenora Rehwald of Moon Township, Pa., and Milton and Mary Ann Rehwald of South Carolina; and one grandson, Chip Longshore, Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Carl D. Longshore Jr. and seven brothers and sisters.
A graveside service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park cemetery. A Masonic service followed by a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Fenn & Shirley Mortuary, Colonial Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Howard Lodge F&AM; 93 and Pastor Scott Keehn officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, 505 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo.
Leslie Cunningham
GALVESTON -- Leslie "Les" E. Cunningham, 52, 109 W. North St., Galveston, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at his residence. He had fought cancer for a year before his death. Born March 10, 1948, in Paris, Ill., he was the son of Floyd and Audrey (Buschmeyer) Cunningham. On April 29, 1995, in Seiverville, Tenn., he married
Rebecca (Boyer), who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army in the military police from September 1967 to January 1971. He worked at Delco Electronics from Aug. 8, 1966 to Aug. 1, 1996, retiring after 30 years of service as a die setter. After retiring, he opened C and C Locksmith in Galveston on June 1, 1997, and continued until his death. He had been active with the Boy Scouts and 4-H in the Logansport area for several years. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association; life member of the North American Hunting Club and a member of the American Legion and Eagles in Logansport.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and David Glassburn, Kokomo; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Craig and Angie Faulstich, Van Buren; Eric and Dawn Faulstich, Kokomo; Vince and Rebecca Faulstich, Peru; Joshua Cunningham, Logansport; father and step-mother, Floyd and Helen Cunningham, Titusville, Fla.; mother, Audrey Cunningham, Logansport; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sharon Cunningham, Logansport; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nora and Charles Fissel and Cathy and Roger Jameson, all of Logansport; 10 grandchildren, several aunts and uncles.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152. The Rev. Ray Tatrault will officiate. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Delores Tolley
GREENTOWN -- Delores May Tolley, 73, 2263 S. 1300 E., Greentown, died at 12:48 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. Born May 26, 1927, in Anderson, she was the daughter of Leroy and Neva Marie (Kem) Brower. On Dec. 17, 1967, she married
Harold R. Tolley, who survives. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Maxine Lewise and Robert Miller, Greentown; Janice May and Herman K. Macak, Goldsmith; Joyce Marie Roberts, Kokomo; seven grandchildren, Mark, Michael and Alicia Macak; Jennifer Miller; Janae Fisher; Sherrie Edwards and Johnny Edwards Jr.; a great-grandchild, Taylor Fisher; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy and Georgia Brower, Anderson; Raymond E. Brower; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Hollis Bastin and Betty and Larry Haynes, all of Anderson. She was preceded in death by a son, John Edwards Sr., a sister and a brother.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Burial will be in Simpson cemetery, Greentown. Friends may call from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Judith (Sallee) Sharp
Judith K. (Sallee) Sharp, 60, 2995 W. Sycamore St., died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Sycamore Village Health Care. Born March 3, 1940, she was the daughter of W. Don and Jessie (Doan) Sallee.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Mark A. Guge Sr., Kokomo; four grandsons, Michael A. Guge, Florida; Mark A. Guge II and Brian L. Guge, both of Kokomo; Richard L. Guge II, Knox; a granddaughter, Jessica K. Guge, Kokomo; a great-grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Barb Sallee, Michigan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jean Sallee, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Connie and Bruce Bickle, Cathey and Edd Barnes, and Carol Fatula, all of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Ann Bowen.

Kenneth 'Bill' Stout
Kenneth D. "Bill" Stout, 70, 6881 W. Road 400 N., Kokomo, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. Born Sept. 19, 1930, he was the son of Elmer W. and Madaline (Ewing) Stout. On Sept. 3, 1950, he married
Lois M. (McClure) Stout, who survives.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation Transmission Plant in 1980 after 31 years of service. He also farmed most of his life. He was a charter member and an elder at Faith Church of Christ, Burlington. He also was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 685. He loved to fish and read books.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Pam Stout, Logansport; Tom and Patti Stout, Kokomo; Gary and Gail Stout, Deer Creek; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Terry Wiles, Plymouth; Teresa and Montie Mannies, Logansport; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Janelle and Bryan Lee; Jenay Stout; Todd Wiles; Jessica Wiles; James and Karin Sparks; Jeffrey Sparks; Nicholas, Christopher, Kaleena, Kaicey, and Cameron Stout; six step-grandchildren and spouses, Eric and Shannon Bingaman; Cricket Bingaman; Cody and Amy Mannies; Travis and Katy Mannies; Natasha and Breanna Mannies; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Nina Stout, South Bend; James R. John C. Gibson, 68, 1911 N. Courtland Ave., died at approximately 11:16 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at his residence.

Margaret Welker
GOODWATER, Ala. -- Margaret M. Welker, 90, 8651 Goodwater Highway, formerly of Lynn, Ind., died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Goodwater.

Lois Simmons
HOBE SOUND, Fla. -- Lois Douglas Simmons, 72, 7462 Jamestown Terrace, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, Fla. Born Nov. 12, 1927 in Howard County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Lola (Beard) Johnson. She moved to the West Palm Beach area of Florida in 1979. On Feb. 3, 1982, she married
Robert Simmons, who survives.
She graduated from New London High School. She was involved with the family restaurant business in Kokomo in the 1950's and '60's, and owned and operated the BG Deli. She was a business representative for the Boyd Airline School in Florida. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jupiter, Fla. She was a devoted and loving mother and enjoyed her family, all of whom will miss her very much.
Surviving in addition to her husband are, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Tom Vega and Teresa and John Streza, all of Kokomo; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Doug Gillam, Chicago, Kirk and Julie Gillam, Pauley Island, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Shelby, Sean, and Shannon Vega, Nicole Streza, Derek, Carly and Abby Gillam; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Viola Hendrix, Kokomo, Arlene and Dale Storms, Joplin, Mo., Meriam and Neil Bolinger, Frankfort; 10 nieces and nephews including a special niece, Treva Smith of Kokomo.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fenn & Shirley Mortuary, Colonial Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Pastor Jim Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in South Union cemetery in western Howard County. Jack White
Jack H. White, 70, 2700 N. Washington St. Lot 206, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. He was born May 9, 1930, in Toronto, Ohio, the son of William McCloud White and Ethel Florine Tittle. He was the husband to Edna (Marshall) White, who survives. They were married
Sept. 4, 1953, in Toronto, Ohio.
He was employed as a mill worker for Weirtion Steel and was a veteran of the Army, serving in Korea. He enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are his wife, Edna White, Kokomo; two sons, Larry Thomas White, Portsmith, Ohio, and Jerry William and Cheryl White, Steubenville, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas Edward White, Indianapolis; and Gary William White Sr., Kokomo; three grandchildren, Robert White, Jerry White Jr. and Desiree Nicole White, all of Steubenville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, her mother and father and step-father.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road. Pastor Evan Strong will officiate. Burial will be in Kokomo Memorial Park cemetery. Georgia Templin
Georgia Templin, 82, 1027 Linda Drive, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2001, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. Born March 24, 1919, in Tipton, she was the daughter of Herman and Pansy Goodman. On Nov. 9, 1935, she married
Noalus O. Templin Sr., who died May 16, 1985.
She and her husband were co-owners of the Veteran's Cab and Yellow Cab Companies and she had worked at Delco Electronics for eight years and at the Reliance Plant. She attended Oakford Baptist Church. She was an avid Indiana University and Indianapolis Pacer Fan.
Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Cynthia Templin, Cape Coral, Fla.; Ron and Sandy Templin and Phil and Barbara Templin, all of Kokomo; Noalus "Butch" Jr. and Carrie Templin, Sims; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Allen, Ivan and Harold Goodman; a sister, Odetta Crabtree; two granddaughters, Susan Beer and Kathy Huffman.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road. The Rev. Jeff Harlow, pastor of Oakford Baptist Church, will officiate. Fred Stine
Fred L. Stine, 87, Kokomo, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2001, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. Born June 11, 1913, in Orange County, he was the son of George and Nellie (Slaughter) Stine. On Aug. 24, 1937, in Huntington, he married
Frieda (Devore) Stine, who survives.
He attended Kokomo High School. He was retired from Continental Steel where he had worked for over 36 years. He was a handy man and could do most anything. He enjoyed wood working and golf when he was younger. He was a devoted husband and father.
Surviving are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Sara Stine, Kokomo; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Darvel Harner, Kokomo; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Wright, Kokomo; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Ethel Stine, Kokomo, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. The Rev. Ken Byland will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Garden cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
