James Sexton
James A. Sexton, 56, Burnettsville, died 10:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Logansport Memorial Hospital. He was born May 28, 1943, in Hawkins County, Tenn., the son of Annie Cecile (Grider) and Oral Doty Sexton. He was the husband of Connie (Webb) Sexton, who survives.
He was an electrician at Daimler Chrysler Corporation and had owned and operated Sexton Electric, Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a 1961 graduate of Rogersville High School, Rogersville, Tenn. He served in the Navy from 1961 to 1963 and then moved to Kokomo. He was a member of the Henards Chapel Baptist Church in Rogersville and a member of the United Auto Workers Local 685 in Kokomo.
Also surviving are his parents of Bulls Gap, Tenn.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Sexton, Peru, Nicholas Sexton, Lafayette, and Adam Sexton, of the home; a daughter, Cass Sexton of them home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Garnet Davis, Martinsville, and Evelyn and Michael Cole, Kokomo; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Wanda Sexton, Rogersville, and Herbert and Anita Sexton, Greensburg; two grandchildren, Zachary Sexton and Jordan Sexton, both of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. Burial will be in Albright cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Donald Carson
Donald R. Carson, 71, 1118 S. Road 750 West, died 10:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at his home. He was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Peru, the son of Forrest G. and Alice Josephine (Hahn) Carson. He was the husband of Carolyn (Taylor), who survives. They were married
May 1965, in New London.
He retired from Continental Steel Corp. in 1984 after 30 1/2 years. He then worked at Chrysler Corp. for 9 years, retiring in 1993. He also owned and operated Carson Machine Shop out of his home for several years. He graduated from Onward High School in 1946. He served in the Marine Corp. from 1946-1948 and also served during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1951. He also served in the Marine Corps Reserves. His memberships included New London Masonic Lodge F&AM 283, United Auto Workers Local 685, and the Eagles Lodge 323 of Logansport, where he was a member for more than 40 years.
He was an avid Indiana University fan.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Russell G. and Lei Carson, Naperville, Ill.; one daughter, Linda M. Tones, Russiaville; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Arliss Carson, Peru; one sister-in-law, Eileen Cosgray, Royal Center; and one granddaughter, Allison Tones.
One brother, Jim Carson, preceded him in death.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville. The Rev. LuAnn Hendershot will officiate. Burial will be in New London cemetery, with military rites provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152. Friends may call 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Nellie Salsberry
WALTON -- Nellie Salsberry, 91, 8421 E. Road 1100 South, died 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Manor Care Health Services in Kokomo.

Odetta Raney
Odetta L. Raney, 87, Northwood Commons, 2501 Friendship Blvd., died 6:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, in Windsor Estates. Born Nov. 22, 1911, in Salem she was the daughter of Leroy Bundy and Eliza Bundy (Bush). On Aug. 29, 1929, in Salem, she married
Titus Raney, who preceded her in death.
Odetta and Titus were owners of Raney Music Co. in Greensburg. She was a member of the Golden Agers at Alto Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Thomas Weisner, Kokomo; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Imogene Bundy, Salem; a granddaughter, Paula Beeson, Kokomo; and two great-grandchildren. One sister, Helen Ponsford also preceded her in death.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. The Rev. Lynn Brust will officiate. Burial will be at noon Tuesday today in Crown Hill cemetery, Salem. William Kimberling
William E. Kimberling, 81, 1232 Imperial Drive, died 9:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at his home. Born Dec. 16, 1917, in Moran, he was the son of Glen and Anne (Thompson) Kimberling. On July 4, 1937, in Logansport, he married
Catherine (Reprogle), who survives. They were happily married
for 62 years.
He retired from Chrysler Transmission Feb. 1, 1975, after 38 years of service as a shift superintendent on third shift. He also worked for Studebaker. He was a military policeman in World War II, stationed at Fort Myers, Arlington, Va., and was on duty in Washington, D.C. His memberships included American Legion Post 6, Moose Lodge 179, and a life member of Eagles Lodge Aerie 255.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and step great-grandfather. He loved to read, work in his yard and on his home.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Elsie Ann and Donald W. Smith, Kokomo; one son, William Kimberling, Washington D.C.; a grandson and spouse, Troy W. and Delores (Dee-Dee) Smith, Kokomo; granddaughter and spouse, Jamie D. and Terry M. Taylor, Kokomo; granddaughter, Sidney J. Smith; great-grandchildren, William H. (B.J.) Hartman Jr., Annamarie D. Hartman, and Hannah H. Smith, all of Kokomo; step-great-grandchildren, Shannon K. and Nate Perkins, and Jeremy A. and Trisha Taylor, all of Kokomo; step-great-great-grandchildren, Taylor and Elijah Perkins, and Morgan and Ian Taylor, all of Kokomo; a nephew, Dr. William J. Kimberling, Omaha, Neb.; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Bernhardt, Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson-in-law.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. The Rev. Stan Zurcher will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Point cemetery with military rites. Candy Seigel
Candy J. Seigel, 40, 610 W. North St., died around 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at her home. Born Jan. 18, 1959, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Elmer and Kathy (Tilley) Byers. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her lifelong companion, Elmer Kann Sr.; her parents; a grandmother, Irene Smith, Tipton; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Rebecca Seigel, Carmel; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Rick Rose, and Penny Winnie, Noblesville; five sisters, Teresa Shelton, Nancy Breaden, Kokomo; Pamela Frakes and Myra McCain, Greentown; Melody Spaulding, Wabash; three grandchildren, Caleb and Steven Seigel, Joshua Rose. She was preceded in death by a sister, Penny Byers.

Nellie Salsbery
WALTON -- Nellie Salsbery, 91, died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Manor Care Health Services. Born March 2, 1908, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of Peter H. Ehman and Zella Mae Stevens. On June 15, 1935, in Atlanta, she married
Raymond E. Salsbery, who survives.
She was a 1927 graduate of Atlanta High School. She was a member of Galveston United Methodist Church. She had taught Sunday school at the Lincoln United Methodist Church (where they were members before it closed). She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband; sister, Alta Hoskins, Elkhart; two brothers, Charles Ehman, Zionsville; Raymond Ehman, Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Ehman; five sisters, Carrie Davis; Elizabeth Forkner; Ethel Small; Dorothy and Goldie Ehman.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Galveston United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jonathon Gosser and Rev. Stephen Salsbery. Burial will be in Galveston cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel, and from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service Tuesday, at the church. Opal Hill
Opal Van Ramer Hill, 75, Kokomo, died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. Born July 14, 1924, in Union County, Tenn., she was the daughter of Ola I. (Loy) and Oscar Hopper. She was married
to Wilbur V. Ramer, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Nevada Church of God.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael K. and his companion, Janet Ramer; Stephen E. and Vivian Ramer; Joe Ramer; Rick L. and Donna Ramer, all of Kokomo; a daughter, Idena Sue Baugh, Kokomo; two sisters, Loretta R. Hopper and Shirley Landrum, Kokomo; seven grandchildren, Chad, Erik, Adrianne, Dustin, Joshua, Zachary Ramer, and Uriah Baugh; three great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Alise and Lydia Ramer. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers.

Paul Hardin
Paul M. Hardin, 53, 4508 E. 200 S., Kokomo, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Howard Community Hospital. Born July 14, 1946, in Rector, Ark., he was the son of Cynthia (Green) William and Claude Hardin. On July 2, 1966, in Kokomo, he married
Pamela J. (Dunlap) Hardin, who survives.
He was a retired construction worker for Union Local 274, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, of Kokomo; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra L. Taylor, Kokomo; Paula J. and Larry Ligier, Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Tommie Pennie, Irene and Harry Snyder, Sue and Tom Payne, all of Rector, Ark.; Corena and Donald Eagle, Greentown; six grandchildren, Thomas, Raymond, Ryan Hamilton; Anthony, Cameron, BreeAnna Taylor; four half-brothers and four half-sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
