J. Allen Wyrick
FRANKFORT, Ind. - J. Allen Wyrick, 62, 9577 E. County Road 300 North, Michigantown, died 7:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, after being ill for 30 days. He was born Aug. 27, 1936, in Johnson Township, Clinton County, the son of Julius Lawrence and Mabel Robertson Wyrick.
He was the husband of Marjorie Wilson, who survives. A lifelong Johnson Township resident, he was a farmer and was voted Indiana State Star Young Farmer in 1973. He served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the Pastor Parish Committee. He was a 1954 graduate of Scircleville High School, and a 1958 graduate of Purdue University with a BS in agriculture economy. He was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Delta Delta Chapter, and the Clinton County School Board from 1964 to 1972, where he served as president during the elementary school construction.
Surviving are his wife of Michigantown; his parents of Frankfort; two sons, Timothy Allen Wyrick, Michigantown, and Thomas David Wyrick, Fort Wayne; one brother, Richard L. Wyrick, Michigantown; several nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren, Emily Ann Wyrick, Jacob Lawrence Wyrick and Daniel Allen Wyrick.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St. The Rev. Jerry Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery, Forest. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest United Methodist Church or Clinton Central Scholarship Fund.
Berteal Snow
Berteal Snow, 73, Kokomo died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Summer Trace Nursing Home, Carmel. Born April 8, 1926, in Ellisville, Miss., she was the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Pace) Brown. On Dec. 25, 1949, she married
Orville D. Snow in Kokomo, who preceded her in death April 13, 1994.
She retired from Delco Electronics in 1978 after 30 years of service. She was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church and a member of UAW Local 292.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Maureen Snow, Carmel; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Byron Puett, Kokomo; six grandchildren, Marcie Puett, Dawn and Sam Lewis, Beth Puett, Holly Snow, Lori Snow and John Snow; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eloise and Paul Hillman, Kokomo, and Burnelle Grooms, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St. The Rev. Don Gifford will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
John Bruce
John H. Bruce, 93, 1126 S. Bell St., died at 6:44 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at Saint Joseph Hospital Emergency Room. Born Sept. 27, 1905 in Owensburg, Ind., he was the son of George W. and Armilda (Ashcraft) Bruce. On Dec. 25, 1927, in Green County, he married
Ona (Simpson), who survives. He attended Indiana Normal College in Terre Haute for two years. He retired from Continental Steel in 1968, after working in the rod mill for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Ona, of Kokomo; a son and daughter-in-law, Myron and Sandy Bruce, Kokomo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and William Daisy and Paula and Jim Smith, all of Kokomo; six grandchildren and spouses, Denise and Mike Wall, Brazil, Ind.; Bryan Bruce, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Karen and George Shiriaev, Fort Wayne; Cindi and John Chapman, Delphi; Susan and Jeff Miller, Oviedo, Fla.; Bill and Leah Daisy, Woodland Hills, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, six brothers, four sisters, and his parents.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road. Rev. Ann Carter of New London Friends Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens cemetery. Robert Chapman
WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- Robert G. Chapman Jr., 48, 2205 Westwood Drive, died at 9:37 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at 4153 E. Pierceton Road, Warsaw, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Feb. 18, 1951, at Camp LeJeune, N.C., he was the son of Robert G. and Barbara (McAninch) Chapman. He was formerly of Wabash.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1969, and attended Kentucky Military Institute. He served with the United States Army Reserves. He was owner of Warsaw Jewelry Design Company, Inc., and belonged to the Indiana Jewelers Association. He received special recognition in fine jewelry design from the association. He completed a resident bench course in lost wax process casting, Queen City, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was certified in diamond grading from the Gem School of America. He was a member of the Gemological Institute of America. He was a member of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce. He was an active participant in the Promise Keepers and was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara Oyler, Sebring, Fla.; his fiancee, Deborah K. Long, Wabash; two sons, Michael Ryan Chapman, Wabash, Nicholas Adam Chapman, Warsaw; a daughter, Emily Elizabeth Chapman, Warsaw; a sister, Teri Standt Fisher, Olympia Fields, Ill.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Les Lofquist will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Kokomo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Annetta M. Besse
KEWANNA, Ind. -- Annetta M. Besse, 73, died at 12:54 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center.

Nellie VanDenbark
Nellie Mae VanDenbark, 100, died at 4:43 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Sycamore Village Health Care Center, Kokomo. Born June 20, 1899, in Howard County, she was the daughter of Arthur L. and Pearl (Hinkle) Swope. On Sept. 1, 1917, she married
Howard W. VanDenbark, who died Aug. 16, 1972.
She had worked for Crosley, Delco Electronics, Kresge’s and Saint Joseph Hospital.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Howard M. and Barbara VanDenbark, Kokomo; two daughters and a son-in-law, Catherine S. Weaver, Kokomo; Juanita and Clarence Roby, Russiaville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Statia and Dean Langford, Greentown; Willa Highley, Converse; a brother, Warren Swope, Greentown. She was preceded in death by her husband; two great-grandsons; a brother and two sisters.

Dorothy Howard
Dorothy M. Howard, 55, 908 W. Mulberry, died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Saint Joseph Hospital. Born April 28, 1944, in Connorsville, she was the daughter of O.F. "Joe" and Mary E. (Spence) Nester. She was married
Dec. 24, 1991, in Kokomo to Wilbur F. Howard, who survives. She was a homemaker.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Joe Nester, Kokomo; Dennis Pyke, Sharpsville; a stepdaughter and spouse Ashley and Eric Dirk, Huntsville, Ga.; special niece, Patricia Moffitt, Indianapolis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carletta and Ralph Harrison, Fort Wayne; Wilma and Nelson Reams, Russiaville; a brother and sister-in-law, Louie and Jonetta Nester, Kokomo; grandchildren, Kayla and Blaine Pyke, Sharpsville; Dasman Cannon, Kokomo; special grand niece, Bailey Moffitt, Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son.

Thomas Estep
Thomas M. Estep, 60, Kokomo, died at 3:06 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Howard Community Hospital. Born Dec. 31, 1938, in Kenvir, Ky., he was the son of Tolbert and Lettie (Smith) Estep. On Aug. 27, 1964, he married
Carol (Blackburn), who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army. He retired in 1996, after 30 years of service from Haynes International. He attended Amanna Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading and doing family genealogy.
Surviving are his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Thelma Estep, Kokomo; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Donna and Dick Shackleford, Harlan, Ky.; three grandchildren, Jessica Rae Estep; Justin Allen Shackleford; Christopher Shackleford and wife, Kimberly; sister-in-law Diane Hubbs, Jacksonville, Fla.; mother-in-law, Evelyn Allen, Lejunior, Ky.; half-sister, Bessie Martin, Knoxville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael Siesel
BELLEVUE, Ohio -- Michael J. Siesel, 49, of Pleasant Street, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at home after a long illness. Born Oct. 25, 1949, in Bellevue, he was the son of Harold and Mary E. (Crookton) Siesel. On April 19, 1974, he married
Linda Joseph, who survives.
He was a third generation plumber/pipefitter at Ford, Sandusky Plastics. He was formerly employed at C.W. Schug Hardware, Norfolk & Southern Railroad and Standard Products. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Four County Conservation League, United Auto Workers Local 1216, and the Brier Oak Hunt Club. He was an artist, woodworker, hunter, and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters and a son-in-law, Heather and James Stephens, Ft. Campbell, Ky.; Amanda E. Siesel, at home; father, Harold Siesel, Bellevue; three brothers, Stephen Siesel, Holiday Lakes; Gregory A. Siesel, Castalia; Richard J. Crookton, Toledo; a sister, Debra K. Bernard, Kokomo, Ind.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary E. Siesel, and grandparents, Esther L. Siesel and Francis A. and Corrine M. Gildenmeister.
A funeral mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Please meet at the church as there will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will be private. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, for the steeple fund.

Charles Becker
Charles E. Backer, 68, 7258 N. Cr. 830 E., Forest, died at 6:56 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Clinton County Hospital Emergency Room, Frankfort. Born Oct. 6, 1930, in Aurora, he was the son of Ed and Stella (Warner) Becker. On Sept. 30, 1956, in Russiaville, he married
Carolyn J. (Watkins), who survives.
He graduated from Prairie Township High School in 1949. He served in the Army from July 31, 1952 to Aug. 4, 1954, during the Korean Conflict. He retired from farming in 1972, and worked at J.C. Penney’s Store in Kokomo, from 1972 to 1984. He attended Forest United Methodist Church and Russiaville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are 11 cousins, Marybeth Dallas, Indianapolis; Rosemary Snyder and Thelmagene Cassingham, Kokomo; Wanda Davis, Coldwater, Mich.; Charleen Olson, Oregon; Donna Lee Noreiga, Imogene Warner, Virginia Barker, Merl Warner, all of Florida; Fred Warner, Tennessee; Don VanBibber, Sharpsville, Ind.; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law, John and Betty Watkins; Esther Watkins; Alice Watkins, all of Michigantown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in by two brother-in-laws, Harold and Donald Watkins.

Nina Keith
OVERTON, Texas -- Nina Lou Keith, 75, 704 Motley Drive, formerly of Kokomo, died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview, Texas. Born March 31, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo., she was the daughter of Ezra Lynn and Bessie (Pendley) Hunt. On Sept. 10, 1941, in Arkansas, she married
Vernon Robert Keith, who died April 9, 1990.
She graduated in 1941 from Plainview High School, Plainview, Ark. For many years she worked at Cuneo Press and then for Kokomo Center Schools as a custodian. She retired in 1990. She was a member of the Courtland Avenue Church of Christ.
Surviving are two grandsons and their wives, Jeffrey and Tamara Keith, Greentown; Christopher and Kemberly Keith, Kokomo; sister and brother-in-law, Lyndall and Donald Varnell, Overton, Texas; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Keith.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. Randy Blackaby will officiate. Burial will be in Albright cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Wanda Langley
Wanda L. Langley, 66, 1023 W. Taylor St., died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at 2305 S. Dixon Road. Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Russell and Murlie (Easton) Hutson.
She retired from Cuneo Press. She was a member of Life Abundant Christian Center.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Judy McKinney, Kokomo; granddaughter, Bridget McKinney, Kokomo; sisters, Nellie Dayton, Kokomo; Kathreen Butler, Carmel. She was preceded in death by three sisters, and a grandson, Daniel McKinney.
Services will be private. Pastor Roger Sutherland will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Abundant Christian Center. Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
H. Jack Johnson
H. Jack Johnson, 70, 329 Maple Court, died Sept. 23, 1999, at Windsor Estates. Born Aug. 15, 1929, in Kokomo, he was the son of Andrew Jackson and Ruth Phillips Johnson. On June 23, 1979, in Kokomo, he married
Glenda Collins, who survives.
He graduated from Galveston High School in 1948. He worked for PPG Industries for 48 years, retiring in 1992. He was a foreman. He is a member of Galveston Masonic Lodge, Eagles Lodge, and the Galveston Baptist Church,
Surviving are his wife; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe and Mary Johnson, Galveston; Andrew Johnson, Kokomo; two stepdaughters and a step-son-in-law, MaLinda Conwell, Kokomo; Leslie and Bridgette Felton, Kokomo; four brothers, Rex Johnson, Galveston; Bruce Johnson, Monticello; Ronnie Johnson, Mississippi; Richard Johnson, Floyds Knob, Ind.; five step-grandchildren; three grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, sister-in-law, Carol Johnson.
