ANDY DIENER

NAPPANEE — Andy Diener, 94, formerly of 805 S. Main St., died at 4:35 a.m. Monday (Feb. 5, 2001) at LuAnn Nursing Home, where he had been a resident since 1995.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before the service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, all at Thompson - Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee Chapel. Burial will follow at South Union cemetery.
Mr. Diener was born on Jan. 2, 1907, in Arthur, Ill., the son of Andrew and Lydia (Yoder) Diener, and moved to the Nappanee area in 1955.
He is survived by four daughters, Sally Brown of Goshen, Anna Yoder of Bremen, Mrs. Al (Lydia) Miller and Mrs. Gordon (Erla) Walters, both of Nappanee; a son, Lester of Leesburg; 17 grandchildren; 23 great - grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Mullet of Sarasota, Fla.; and one brother, Amos of Nappanee.
A son, Bill; five brothers, Joel, Ezra, Obed, Menno and Ruben; and two sisters, Katie Hershberger and Fannie Otto, are deceased.
Mr. Diener was a retired farmer and truck driver and was formerly an active member at the YMCA in Elkhart.
Memorials may be given to the National Dystonia Association.
EVERETT R. RITTER
April 7, 1904 - Feb. 5, 2001
PLYMOUTH — Everett R. Ritter, 96, formerly of Elkhart, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday (Feb. 5, 2001) at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth.
Mr. Ritter was born in Cromwell on April 7, 1904, to Charles and Lucy (Pippenger) Ritter. He married
Velva O. Stocker in St. Joseph, Mich., on Oct. 25, 1924, and she died on Jan. 1, 1980.
He is survived by a son, Ronald E. (Barbara) of South Bend; one daughter, Patricia Ritter of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and a sister, Marris Schmunck of Hartford City. Several brothers and sisters are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Walley - Mills - Zimmerman Funeral Home & Crematory in Elkhart, where the service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rice cemetery.
Mr. Ritter graduated from North Webster High School and retired after 44 years with C.G. Conn in Elkhart. He was a member of the former Castle Evangelical United Brethren Church and United Auto Workers Union.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
ERMA D. KINTIGH
Feb. 11, 1918 - Feb. 4, 2001
GOSHEN — Erma D. Kintigh, 82, of 2400 College Ave., died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at Carriage Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Kintigh, the daughter of Byron and Elva (Sheffield) Doll, was born in Syracuse on Feb. 11, 1918. She married
Harold Kintigh in Goshen on Oct. 24, 1936, and he died on July 15, 1968.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Roes of Perry, Fla.; two grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Doll of Elkhart. Two sisters, Madeline Burton and Magurite Alway; and a brother, Larry Doll, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service at 11 a.m. Thursday, all at Hartman Funeral Home. Pastor Pam Kling with First United Methodist Church of Goshen will officiate and burial will follow at Violett cemetery.
An Eastern Star memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kintigh formerly worked as a retouch artist at Biltmore Studios. She was a member of Goshen Chapter 397 OES and a charter member of Maplecrest Country Club.
Memorials may be given to the Shriner Hospital for Children.
WILLIS H. PFEIFFER
May 6, 1920 - Feb. 4, 2001
SILVER LAKE — Willis H. Pfeiffer, 80, of 6920 S. 1200 S., died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw.
The son of Forrest M. and Iva O. (Feichter) Pfeiffer, he was born in Bremen on May 6, 1920, graduated in 1940 from Bremen High School and married
Gladys L. Silveus on July 19, 1948. She died on Nov. 27, 1998.
Mr. Pfeiffer is survived by a daughter, Jackie Bailey of Bristol; one son, Gregory of Clayton, Ga.; two grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; two brothers, Forrest of Rochester and Richard of Walkerton; and a sister, Mrs. L.M. (Betty) Thornburg of Mishawaka. One brother and a grandchild are deceased.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Palestine cemetery with the Rev. Vic Virgil officiating. There will be no visitation. McHatton - Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pfeiffer, a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, worked as a heavy equipment operator for McManhn Construction Co. in Rochester and as a self - employed farmer until his retirement. He was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw and Rochester Lodge 79 F&AM.
CHARLES L. CLINE
LAGRANGE — Charles L. Cline, 82, of 524 Maple Ridge, died at 7:22 a.m. Monday (Feb. 5, 2001) at Miller's Merry Manor.

GEORGE S. BOWERS
Sept. 19, 1911 - Feb. 2, 2001
ELKHART — George S. Bowers, 89, of 57890 18th Street, died at 3 a.m. Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) in his home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1911, in Barr, Mich., the son of Henry and Edith (Thwares) Bowers. He married
Hazel A. Syson on Dec. 16, 1972, and she died May 6, 1999. Surviving are three sisters, Marie Adams of Hampton, Va., Maxine Jacobs of Philadelphia, Pa., and Virginia Estlicks of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a son, Maynard E. Bowers in July 1997, and four brothers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Billings Funeral Home and one hour before the 11 a.m. service Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dan Cole of Northside Church of the Nazarene will officiate with burial at Prairie Street cemetery.
Mr. Bowers worked at Richardson Mobile Homes in Elkhart for 26 years. He was a member of Northside Church of the Nazarene.
DOROTHY I. RYAN
Aug. 5, 1911 - Feb. 2, 2001
LAGRANGE — Dorothy I. Ryan, 89, of 787 N. Detroit St., died Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) at Miller's Merry Manor.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1911, in South Milford to William and Dessie C. (Mory) Walker. On Sept. 7, 1931, she married
Leonard Ryan in Angola, Ind. He died Feb. 6, 1997.
Mrs. Ryan is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Merton (Nancy) Austin of Mendon, Mich., and Kay Strall of LaGrange, a son, L.D. (Sue) Ryan of Siloam Springs, Ark.; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great - grandchildren. Two sisters, Gertrude Young and Katherine Walker are deceased.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Frurip - May Funeral Home. The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at LaGrange Missionary Church with the Rev. Bradley Ulick officiating. Burial will follow at South Scott cemetery, Angola.
Mrs. Ryan was a homemaker and also worked at W.R. Thomas Retail Shop in LaGrange. She was a member of LaGrange Missionary Church.
Memorials may be given to the church.
BERT S. OVERTON
BRISTOL — Bert S. Overton, 68, of 50803 E. Indiana Lake Road, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at his home.

VIRGIL T. ERVIN
Oct. 26, 1912 - Feb., 2, 2001
NAPPANEE — Virgil T. Ervin, 88, of 104 S. Nappanee St., died at 1:12 p.m. Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) at Elkhart General Hospital, where he had been ill for three weeks.
He was born Oct. 26, 1912, in Elkhart County, the son of William and Mary (Anthony) Ervin. On Feb. 6, 1946, in Bremen, he married
Ireta Kipfer.
His wife survives along with a brother, Russell L. Ervin of Nappanee, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Spagnola; two brothers, Ralph and Orval Ervin and six sisters, Bess Clipp, Ida Pittman, Anna Hepler, Mable George, Mary Balsley and Zelma Ervin.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson - Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ross Cook of Nappanee United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at North Union cemetery, Nappanee.
Mr. Ervin, a lifelong area resident, was a farmer and maintenance worker for Midwest Commerce Bank and NBD in Nappanee for 20 years. He was a member of Plymouth Moose #741 and an avid bowler.
Memorials may be given to Nappanee EMS.
STEPHEN ERNEST KRAZIT
ELKHART — Stephen Ernest Krazit, 81, of 1422 Magnolia Ave., died at 7:55 p.m. Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) at Elkhart General Hospital.

LADY LAKE, Fla. — Billie M. Manley, 79, of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Elkhart, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Fla.

SALLY J. EDWARDS
Jan. 24, 1947 - Feb. 2, 2001
ELKHART — Sally J. Edwards, 54, of 54078 Wilson St., died at 6 a.m. Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) in her home after suffering from Pickwickian Syndrome.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Elkhart on Jan. 24, 1947, to Carlyle and Elhora (Emerson) Ervin and married
David V. Edwards on Sept. 24, 1976.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sheila) Pudloski; a son, Larry (Melanie) Signs; a stepdaughter, Victoria Browning; and two sisters, Mrs. Dave (Peggy) Wentland and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Surface; seven grandchildren; and her father, all of Elkhart. A brother, Teddy Ervin, is deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, where the service will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Pastor Kevin Welch of Meadowbrook Wesleyan Church, Elkhart, is officiating and burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Edwards worked at Accra Pac Group. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing needlepoint. She also enjoyed organizing, arranging and cooking for large family gatherings.
Memorials may be given to Elkhart Community Hospice or Riley Hospital for Children.
STANLEY WENZLE MOORE
Oct. 15, 1918 - Feb. 2, 2001
WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. — Stanley Wenzle Moore, 82, of White Springs, died Friday, (Feb. 2, 2001) at Swannee Valley Nursing Home in Jasper, Fla., after a short illness.
He was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Elkhart to Ralph and Delida Peterson Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Ardith Jean Moore of Ocala, Fla.; a son, Teddy L. Moore of Lake Park, Ga.; a daughter, Jolene G. English of Hopkins, Mich.; a sister, Pearl DuBois, three brothers, Floyd, Robert and Alfred Moore, all of Elkhart, eight grandchildren; and five great - grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lake Park cemetery with the Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. Carson McLane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Elkhart High School; Elkhart Business University in 1950; and Acme Technical Institute of Tool and Die Designing and a member of VFW Post 2093.
