V. Sammie Lewellyn Abbott, 91, Anderson, died Feb. 23, 2005, at Countryside Manor after an extended illness.
She was co-owner of The Lewellyn Studios in Elwood and Anderson.
Survivors include a son, Stephen B. Lewellyn; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tony Lewellyn; and second husband, Lee Roy Abbott.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, at East Maplewood cemetery with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Richard S. VanSickle
Richard Scott VanSickle, 77, Anderson, died March 1, 2005, at Community Hospital after an extended illness.

Charles A. Tucker
Feb. 15, 1918 - Feb. 28, 2005
Charles Albert Tucker, 87, died Feb. 28, 2005, at his daughter’s residence after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 15, 1918, in High Coal, W.Va., and recently relocated to Ypsilanti, Mich. He lived in Anderson for 47 years before moving to Michigan three months ago.
He retired from Nicholson File in 1983 where he worked as a tool maker for 18 years.
Foremost he loved his church and family first. He was a very active member of Maple Grove Church of God for 35 years. He loved music, camping and home improvement projects. He and his wife were members of the Good Sam Club and enjoyed numerous trips. In addition to many trips within the continental United States, they were fortunate to visit Hawaii three times, Mexico, Canada and Greenland. He, along with his wife, wintered in Florida for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Erdene (Robertson) Tucker; two children, Carol A. Tucker of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Dennis A. and wife Christi (Snyder) Tucker of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Adam R. Tucker of Muncie, and Alexander J. Tucker of Rapid River, Mich.; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Minnie (Styers) Tucker; and his five brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maple Grove Church of God, 2729 E. 38th St., Anderson, with the Rev. Fred Shivley officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery, Anderson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Lee F. Perdiew
Lee F. Perdiew, 79, Anderson, died Feb. 28, 2005, at Stuart Memorial Medical Center after being stricken ill at his winter home in Okeechobee, Fla.

Helen I. Stokes
June 15, 1930 - March 1, 2005
ALEXANDRIA — Helen Irene (Williams) Stokes, 74, Alexandria, died March 1, 2005, at Community Hospital Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born June 15, 1930, in Anderson, the daughter of Herbert and Bessy (Trueblood) Williams. On Dec. 22, 1951, Helen married
Kenny Stokes.
Helen was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary 1552 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles 177, both of Alexandria.
She retired from Guide Lamp of Anderson in 1997 and had been a real estate agent for the past 30 years. During her real estate career she had been associated with Speedway Realty, Anderson, and Casual Lifestyles and American Classic Realty, both of Alexandria. Helen also had been the co-owner with her son Kenny Stokes of Kenny Stokes Realty of Alexandria.
Survivors include her husband, Kenny Stokes Sr.; four children, Kenny (Nancy) Stokes Jr., Ronald Stokes, Patty Stokes and Scott (Penny) Stokes; and three grandchildren, Kevin Stokes, Nicholas Stokes and Megan Stokes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruthie Williams and Ester Holler; and a brother, Herbert Williams Jr.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria, with the Rev. Cliff Richardson officiating. Burial will be in IOOF cemetery, Alexandria.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Louis J. Casimono
May 21, 1928 - Feb. 28, 2005
Louis J. Casimono, 76, Anderson, died Feb. 28, 2005, at Community Hospital Anderson after a brief illness.
He was born May 21, 1928, in New York, N.Y., and moved from Connecticut to Anderson 12 years ago.
He was a retired pipe fitter at General Dynamics in Groton, Conn., with many years of service.
He served his country in the U.S. Army in the B Company 45th Infantry during the Korean War. He was a member of the Local 777 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union and the American Legion.
He is survived by his two children, Sharon and husband Bill Reuter of Baltimore, Md., and Jesse Casimono of New London, Conn.; nine stepchildren, Bob Welch of Indianapolis, Barbara Freestone of Anderson, Robin and husband Jeff Wellons of Anderson, Linda and husband Eddy Kirby of Connecticut, Melissa and husband Larry McAllister of Pendleton, Clarence “Roy” and wife Linda Snyder of Connecticut, Brian and wife Tracy Snyder of South Carolina, Deborah McCowin of California, and Becky McCowin of Connecticut; a brother, Pat and wife Sandra Casimono of Waterford, Conn.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances (Campagna) Casimono; longtime companion, Sue English; and a sister, Anna Muscarella.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday or shortly before at Anderson Memorial Park cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Barkdull officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Military rites will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.

William F. Hackleman
Oct. 6, 1937 - Feb. 26, 2005
LAPEL — William F. Hackleman, 67, passed away Feb. 26, 2005, at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 6, 1937, in Lapel, the son of Charles and Vivian (Bolton) Hackleman.
In 1996, he retired from Delphi Div. of General Motors in Anderson after 33 years of employment.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, and Lapel Masonic Lodge 625.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila (Partain) Hackleman of Lapel; a daughter, Laura and husband Rick Hall of Lapel; his sister, Nancy and husband Richard Walters of Holiday, Fla.; two granddaughters, Mandy and husband Jeremy Denton of Noblesville and Ashley Hall of Lapel; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Denton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford Street United Methodist Church 925 Ford St., Lapel, officiated by the Rev. Mark Helm. Burial will take place at Brookside cemetery, Lapel.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 .m. Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, where the Lapel Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic Memorial Rites at 7 p.m.

Lillian Madren
Nov. 28, 1920 - Feb. 25, 2005
Lillian Madren, 84, of Anderson, passed away Feb. 25, 2005, at Community Hospital Anderson, following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Anderson, the daughter of John and Frances Levon, and was a lifelong Anderson resident.
In 1983, she retired from Delco Remy Div. of General Motors in Anderson.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Polish Club in Anderson.
She is survived by two sons, Tim A. and wife Tammy Madren of Pendleton and Jon Michael Madren of Newbury Park, Calif.; four grandchildren, Sara Beth Madren, Michael Allen Madren and Alysa Dawn Madren, all of Pendleton, and Hannah Jo Madren of Kearney, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn M. Madren; brothers, Johnny Levon and Richard Levon; and sisters, Bernice Regenold and Josephine Nicpon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl St., Anderson, officiated by Father Robert Williams. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, and will include a 5:30 p.m. vigil service.
James V. Miller
May 15, 1912 - Feb. 25, 2005
ALEXANDRIA — James Verl Miller, 92, went to his Heavenly Home Feb. 25, 2005.
Verl was born May 15, 1912, in Windfall to Otis and Rachel (Hickman) Miller.
He was a graduate of Windfall High School

LaVonne Whitehead
He was a retired farmer. He served many years on the Advisory Board; was the Lafayette Township Trustee; served on the Lafayette West Central School Board; and was a member of the Rock Prairie Separated Baptist Church in Tipton.
Survivors include his wife of more than 70 years, LaVonne (Whitehead) Miller of Alexandria; three sons, Jack and wife Karen Miller,
Gary and wife Julie Miller and Ronnie and wife Cherie Miller all of Alexandria; 17 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; his sister, Isabelle Smith of Anderson; and his brother, Frank Miller of Seymour.
Verl was preceded in Death by his parents, Otis and Rachel (Hickman) Miller; two daughters, Judith Miller and Carolyn Miller; a son, James P. Miller; granddaughter, Rachel Miller; brothers, Harold Miller and Lester Miller; and sisters, Mary Martin, Maggie Butler, and Mildred Gross.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler St., Frankton, officiated by the Rev. Kevin Carr of the Rock Prairie Separated Baptist Church in Tipton. Interment will take place at Maplewood cemetery in Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
