Warren M. Belt

Warren M. Belt, 75, Anderson, passed away Feb. 3, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Anderson, and lived in Anderson all of his life. At one time, he worked for the railroad. He retired in the 1970s from Sprague Gas Regulators after 15 years of service.
He was a member of Separate Baptist Church and the Salvation Army Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Carmen (husband, Thomas) Gann of Anderson, Lou Ann (husband, Dennis R., Sr.) Anderson of Chesterfield, Barbara (husband, Roger) Murdock of Anderson, Pearl Belt of Indianapolis and Vickie (husband, Steve) Dial of Atlanta; several grandchildren including Fawn R. Achenbach, Daphne L. Gann, Pamela K. Gann, Shauna (husband, James) Griffin and Kyle E. Counceller, all of Anderson, and Dennis R. Anderson, Jr., Tori L. Anderson and Sara C. Anderson, all of Chesterfield; three great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Della Mae Lemon of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and special friends at White River Village.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. Belt on April 29, 2004; son, Warren Melvin Belt, Jr.; and parents, William A. and Mae Belt.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Catherine J. (Jones) Pottorff, 89, Anderson, died Feb. 2, 2005, at her residence after several months of declining health.
She was born May 31, 1915, in Markleville, Ind., and was a lifelong Madison County resident. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Markleville North Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Janelle and husband Ken Traylor of Anderson; son, Rex Pottorff of Anderson; and a granddaughter, Katie Traylor, of whom she was extremely proud for her plans to attend medical school in the fall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Pottorff, in 1991; and her parents, Elva and Della (Cole) Jones.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the South Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Dollie loved gardening, spending time with her family, was known for her delicious cooking and enjoyed watching her favorite driver, Tony Stewart on Sunday afternoons.

FORTVILLE — Eileen (Kelly) Thomas, 87, Fortville, died March 3, 2005, in Fortville.
She retired in 1979 from the Fortville Grain Co. after 20 years of employment as a bookkeeper.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Claude Thomas; a son, Tim N. Thomas; a sister, Connie Hudson; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville, with Jon Vance officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Lawn cemetery, Fortville.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour before service Monday at the funeral home.

Billy J. Nagel

GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. — Billy J. Nagel, 83, Green Valley, died Feb. 28, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Elwood, and lived in this area most of his life, moving to Arizona after retirement. He retired in 1980 from the U.S. Postal Service in Anderson and Tucson, Ariz., after 38 years of service. He was the supervisor of window service at the Anderson Post Office.
He was a graduate of Elwood High School in 1940.
He was a second lieutenant in the Indiana State Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Community Methodist Church in Green Valley, Ariz., where he served as an usher since 1992. He was a 50- year mason and was a charter member of Adobe Masonic Lodge in Tucson, Ariz.
He helped form and was a 10-year member of Richland Township Fire Department and was one of its first chiefs. After retiring to Green Valley, he served for two years as a volunteer at Green Valley Recreation.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Allman) Nagel, whom he married
Nov. 25, 1955; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Iva M. (Huggins) Nagel; sisters, Wilma K. Ward and Carolyn J. Mathews; and brothers, C. LeRoy Nagel and Robert E. Nagel.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with Dr. Audrey Borschel officiating. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Contributions may be made to Allman-Nagel Nursing Scholarship Fund through Anderson University.

JoAnne Loser
Oct. 24, 1922 - March 3, 2005
JoAnne Loser, 82, Anderson, passed away March 3, 2005, at Rawlins House in Pendleton, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Elwood, the daughter of John and Gladys (Moore) Klumpp. She graduated from Elwood High School, attended Ball State for two years and then graduated from the International Business College in Fort Wayne. She had lived in Anderson since 1982. She worked at the Social Security Administration and then worked as a real estate broker for many years.
She was a member of Middletown Church of the Nazarene and Lambda Chapter of Tri Kappa.
The family would like to thank her loving caregivers and the staff at the Rawlins House for the special care given to JoAnne.
She is survived by two son, Randy (wife, Kathie) Loser of Anderson and Mike (wife, Sheila) Loser of Middletown; four grandchildren, Steve Loser, Todd Loser, Andy Loser and Sarah Loser; and two sisters, Rosalind Brunson of Fort Wayne and Betty Sommer of Hudson, N.H.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion P. Loser; son, Geoffrey Lee Loser; three brothers; one sister; and grandson, Gregory Loser.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Gary Elsten at 1 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elwood City cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, St. John’s Hospice or Middletown Church of the Nazarene.
