Shirley Joan (Owen) Blueher, 69, of Anderson, died Feb. 4, 2005, at the Indiana Heart Center in Indianapolis after a brief illness.
She was a retired employee of Coca Cola Bottling Company.
Survivors include sons, Dan and wife, Cheryl Blueher and Randy Blueher; sisters, Melva and husband Gene Sutton and Lillian and husband Lee Miller; brothers, John and wife Joyce Owen and Jim Owen; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Blueher.
There will be no services or visitation.

Jonathan W. Southard
July 11, 1985 - Feb. 3, 2005
ALEXANDRIA — Jonathan W. “John” Southard, 19, died unexpectedly Feb. 3, 2005, in Alexandria.
He was born July 11, 1985, in Anderson, the son of Dennis J. Southard and Cilla Faye Coop, and resided in Alexandria most of his lifetime.
John attended Alexandria schools, where he wrestled and played football.
He was currently employed at Kennedy Tool and Die of Alexandria.
He enjoyed backyard basketball, 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. He was an avid fan of West Coast Choppers. He loved his family and was very devoted to his nephew, Jacob.
Survivors include his father, Dennis Southard of Alexandria; brother, James Southard and his son, Jacob, of Alexandria; mother, Cilla Faye (Marshall) Lee of Burkesville, Ky.; paternal grandparents, Billy and Nila Southard, Anderson; maternal grandmother Linda Faye Appleby, Burkesville, Ky.; uncles and aunts, Mike and Suella Southard, Alexandria, Rick and Kay Southard, Liberty Center, Jeff and Carol Southard, Bluffton, Fonnita Munger, Alexandria, Donnita Rushton, Indianapolis, Larry Westrader Jr., Indianapolis and Lanny Westrader, Anderson; long time family friend, Jim Templeton, Alexandria; special cousin, Mike Southard Jr., Alexandria; best friends, Cody Jordan and Jessica Jordan of Alexandria; and special friends, Codi Currey, Alexandria and Brad Stonoff, Middletown; and numerous other family members and friends.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, officiated by the Rev. Mike Thompson, pastor of Union Chapel Community Church in Alexandria. Burial will take place at Jones cemetery near Yorktown.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Tuesday until the hour of services.
Memorial contributions may be made, through the funeral home, to the Alexandria Fire Department’s Emergency Ambulance Fund.
Rolland R. Fite
June 2, 1941-Feb. 5, 2005
ALBANY - Rolland R. Fite, 63, died on Feb. 05, 2005, at the Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He is survived by his sister, Judy McGill, and brother, John and wife Gerna Fite Jr.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Anderson Memorial Park Chapel in Anderson, IN.

Denise M. Dillard-Colbert
Sept. 23, 1975 - Feb. 4, 2005
ALEXANDRIA — Denise M. Dillard-Colbert, 29, died unexpectedly Feb. 4, 2005, at Community Hospital Anderson.
She was born Sept. 23, 1975, in Anderson, the daughter of David Dillard and Catherine (Holding) Anderson. She had resided in the Alexandria area all of her lifetime.
Denise graduated from Madison-Grant High School, Class of 1994, and attended Indiana University in Kokomo for two years. She had trained as a dental hygienist.
She was an excellent artist who enjoyed drawing wolves. She was a fan of Kid Rock, and enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Colbert of Anderson; mother, Cathy Anderson (friend Craig Harris) of Alexandria; stepfather, Kenneth Anderson (friend Sharon Young) of Summitville; son, David Dillard-Colbert, Alexandria; daughter, Cheyanne Dillard-Colbert, Alexandria; brothers, David Dillard (fiancé Kim Sears) of Anderson and Nick Harris, Alexandria; sisters, Jean (Bob) Hardwick, Ridgeville, Jane (Bill) Ferrer, Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Jonnah and Robert in Kentucky, Katy Anderson, Summitville, Lori Carter, Anderson and Crystal (Rick) Cagle, Alexandria; uncle, Norman Holding, Edgewater, Fla.; aunts, Patty Addison, Alexandria and Teresa Goble, Marion; cousins, Mike Addison, Greg (Corrie) Addison and Chad Van Erman, all of Alexandria, and Bill Holding, Anderson; nieces and nephews, Ashley Giovene, Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Kaylee and Megan Dillard, Anderson, Wesley, Jacob, Nathan and Sabath Harden, all of Kentucky, Vicki and Grant Anderson Summitville, Anthony Phillips, Christina Oaks, Amy and Mary Sears, all of Anderson and Shelly and Laura Lee Cagle of Alexandria; and special friends, John Spohnholtz and Robert Pratt and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Dillard in 2000; and very special friend, John Southard.
A Celebration of Denise’s life will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, officiated by Pastor Sharon Lang, of First Christian Church, Alexandria. Interment will follow in Park View cemetery in Alexandria.
Friends may call at the Noffze Funeral Home, in Alexandria from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of Denise’s children.
Violet Mae Sisson
Oct. 9, 1922 - Feb. 2, 2005
ALEXANDRIA — Violet Mae Sisson, 82, died Feb. 2, 2004, at Community Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Logansport, Ind., the daughter of Benjamin F. and Ida Mae (Raugher) Galloway.
Violet had been employed by several health care facilities in the Anderson area before her retirement.
Survivors include her two sons, Terry (wife, Peggy) Sisson of Alexandria and Larry (wife, Katherine) Sisson of New Memphis, Ill.; four grandchildren, Larry R. Sisson, Charles G. Sisson, James Sisson and Tina Hibst; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman G. Sisson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Ave., Alexandria, with Norman Parr officiating. Cremation will follow.
Jack C. Douglas Jr.
Oct. 10, 1948 - Feb. 4, 2005
Jack Carson Douglas Jr., 56, of Anderson, died Feb. 4, 2005, at the Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 10, 1948, in Anderson, the son of Jack Sr. and Bonnie (Mether) Douglas.
Mr. Douglas was a U. S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a truck driver for Prairie Farms Dairy in Anderson.
He was a member of Amvets; the Anderson American Legion; and the Teamsters Union of Anderson.
Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Douglas of Lapel; brother, Larry Douglas of Anderson; mother, Bonnie Douglas, of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his special companion, Sheila Douglas of Lapel.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jack “Jackie” Douglas III; his father, Jack Douglas Sr.; and grandmother, Katherine Baker.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler St., Frankton, officiated by the Rev. Alvin Daton. Interment will take place at K of P & I.O.O.F. cemetery, Frankton.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joseph Cooley
Oct. 6, 1946 - Feb. 2, 2005
Joseph Cooley, 58, departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Community Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 6, 1946, in Anderson, the son of Willie and Rosie Cooley. He was a 1966 graduate of Anderson High School and was an employee of Delphi E Plant 20 for 39 years. He also served in the U.S. Army in 1968 for two years. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662.
He was united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. M.C. Williams. He began his singing ministry under the direction of Mother Battle. He was a member of the Friendship Stars and the Golden Links. He continued to sing with the Gospel Heavy Weights in the 60’s and currently he was the founder of Joe Cooley and the Gospel Klassics.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Anderson Cooley; his daughters, JoAnn Cooley of Indianapolis, and Theresa Cooley and Denise Cooley-Goolsby, both of Anderson; a son, Joseph R. Cooley of Anderson; grandchildren, LaQuana, April, Anissa, Shawnta, James, Terrence, Ronise and Katilyn; a great-granddaughter, Da’Nyia; brothers, M.C. (wife, Eleanor) Cooley of Indianapolis, and Willie (wife, Joretha) Cooley and Amos Cooley, Johnnie (wife, Pearlie) Cooley, the Rev. DeWayne (wife, Jeanette) Cooley, and Aaron Cooley, all of Anderson, ; sisters, Theresia C. Taylor, Bernita (husband, William) Hoosier, Sandra (husband, Dennis) Long and Janis (husband, Bobby Joe) Wilson, all of Anderson; father-in-law, Charles Anderson Jr.; brother-in-law, the Rev. Richard Anderson, Maurice (wife, Pam) Anderson, Michael (wife, Dorothy) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Hazel (husband, Eddie) Edwards and Patricia Simmons; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rosie Cooley; brothers, L.C. and Larry Cooley; mother-in-law, Theresa Anderson; brother-in-law, Charles Anderson; sister-in-law, Terry P. Rayford; paternal and maternal grandparents; and a niece, Tommasina Ivey.
Services will be held at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1540 W. 16th St., at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, with Dr. Edgar M. Woodall officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
A memorial service will be held by the Gospel Klassics at a later date.

Wayne E. Schwob
Nov. 28, 1926 - Feb. 3, 2005
ELKHART — Wayne E. Schwob, 78, Elkhart, passed away Feb. 3, 2005, at his home after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Huntington, the son of John W. and Fleeta (Yantis) Schwob. On July 4, 1948, in Huntington, Wayne married
Melba Joan (Hacker); she died April 12, 1967. He then married
Evelyn M. Grey on Feb. 3, 1968.
He retired in July of 2004 from the Carpenter Co. where he worked in security. He was a Nazarene pastor for 38 years serving in Anderson, Wisconsin, Idaho, Alaska and Illinois. He was a graduate of Huntington Township High School where he excelled at basketball and track.
He was a member of the Huntington Basketball Hall of Fame. He attended Huntington College, Olivet Nazarene University, Nazarene Theological Seminary and other postgraduate studies.
He was truly a caring and compassionate pastor. He also enjoyed Lionel trains and traveling.
Wayne and Melba are the parents of sons, Kent Schwob of Indianapolis and James (Sharon) Schwob of Mill Creek, Wash.; daughters, Beth (Russell) Mueller and Jane Schwob, both of Edmonds, Wash.; four grandchildren; his brother, Max (Freda) Schwob of Huntington.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Robert Schwob.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, where family and friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow in Lancaster cemetery in Huntington.

Paul W. Harruff
PICKENS, S.C. — Former Anderson resident Paul W. Harruff, 76, died Feb. 2, 2005, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He served his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Manzenberger) Harruff; a son, Gregory W. (wife, Sinalak) Harruff; a daughter, Lori Ann (husband, David) Miller; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Greenlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
