Allie Smith
June 12, 1912 - Nov. 26, 2004

Allie (Swan) Smith, 92, Anderson, died Nov. 26, 2004, at Community Hospital, Anderson, after an extended illness.

Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Swan and Millie Boards; two nieces, Mary Walker and Alberta Morgan; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Smith.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with the Rev. Manuel Hunt officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery, Anderson.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the South Chapel.

Robert G. McHarry
April 8, 1921 - Nov. 28, 2004

GAS CITY - Former Anderson resident Robert G. McHarry, 83, Gas City, died Nov. 28, 2004, at his residence.

He was an electrical maintenance foreman at RCA, retiring in 1984. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, JoAnn (Baker) McHarry; three sons, Robert J. (Jacqueline) McHarry, John (Catherine) McHarry and Dennis (Valerie) McHarry; five daughters, Joan (Michael) Smith, Margaret (Joseph) Kulinski, Teresa McHarry, Janet McHarry and Rita (Brian) Boucher; a brother, Rex McHarry; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 E. North A St., Gas City, with the Rev. David Newton officiating. Burial will be in Marion National cemetery, Marion.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City. A Scripture service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice, 118 E. Fourth St., Marion, IN 46952.

William R. Morris

ALEXANDRIA - William R. 'Bill' Morris, 64, of Alexandria, died at his residence after a brief illness. Arrangements are pending at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria.

John T. Wesby
Nov. 27, 2004 - Nov. 27, 2004

Baby John Thomas Wesby

To our son, John T. Wesby, born on Nov. 27, 2004, at 9:23 a.m. John was born in Eau Claire, Wis., at Luther Hospital. He was born four months earlier than his appointed due date and because of that he did not make it. Weighing 11 ounces, his bodily organs were not fully developed to help him continue breathing on his own. John was a very handsome child and quite frisky in his mother's womb; he already knew what he liked and did not like. John was named after his grandfather who passed away a few months earlier.

He is survived by his parents, Deonte and Shemeka Wesby; paternal grandparents, Vicki and Sherman Craig; maternal grandmother, Mary Hammock; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Babyland at Maplewood cemetery with the Rev. Michael Hurst officiating.

Local services entrusted to L.C. May Funeral Services.

Hilda W. Schulenburg
Feb. 2, 1910 - Nov. 27, 2004

ELWOOD - Hilda W. (Winkel) Schulenburg, 94, Elwood, died Nov. 27, 2004, in Elwood at Community Parkview Care Center.

She was born Feb. 2, 1910, in Harbor Beach in Michigan, the daughter of August and Bertha (Papke) Winkel. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton. She was also a member of the Altar Guild and Ladies Aid, both through the church.

She was a housewife and homemaker. She married Emory Schulenburg on June 8, 1935.

Survivors include children, Elwyn (wife, Henni) Schulenburg of Casper, Wyo., Ann (husband, George M.) Fettig of Elwood, Alan 'Butch' (wife, Cheri) Schulenberg of Red Cloud, Neb., and Artha Curnutt of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Herbert Winkel of Harbor Beach, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Schulenburg, on Aug. 31, 2004; a son, Ernest Winkel; and two sisters, Gertrude Gessert and Dorothy Anschutz.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton with Pastor Kurt Gremel officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Tipton.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Porter Funeral Home, 726 E. North St., Tipton, and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Hour or the Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Carl M. Lohrey
Feb. 21, 1925 - Nov. 26, 2004

Carl M. Lohrey, 79, Anderson, died suddenly Nov. 26, 2004, in Cullman, Ala., while visiting friends in Alabama.

He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Brookville, and resided in Okeechobee, Fla. He lived in Daleville from 1959 to 1997, moving to Okeechobee in 1997.

He was a retired brick mason and farmer in the Madison-Delaware County area. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Winchester Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple Shrine, Daleville American Legion, Brookville Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brookville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie, Okeechobee Moose Lodge and Brookville Red Men Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Vicky Lane Carnley of Anderson; grandchildren, Lori Rushton of Lapel and Nicki Seward of Anderson; brother, Adam 'June' Lohrey of Brookville; 10 great-grandchildren, Shane Driffill of Anderson, Zachary Mattox of Chesterfield, Jerrica Martin of Anderson, RaeAnna Rushton of Lapel, Janaye Martin of Anderson, Michael Rushton of Lapel, Joshua Martin of Anderson, Stephen Rushton of Lapel, Jacob Turpin of New Castle and Meghan Seward of Anderson; four great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Edna Cornelius of Okeechobee, Fla., and Mike Hamm of Middletown.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lillian 'Marvetta' (Miller) Lohrey, on Oct. 6, 1996; parents, Adam and Addie Lohrey; granddaughter, Kelly Turpin in 2002; brothers, George, Ernie and Grayden 'Bud'; and sisters, Annie, Esther, Norma and Martha.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with Pastor Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the South Chapel.

Contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.

Shelly K. Jones
June 20, 1945 - Nov. 10, 2004

JAMESTOWN, Tenn. - Shelly K. Jones, 59, Jamestown, passed away Nov. 10, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Hospital.

He was born June 20, 1945, in Jamestown, Tenn. He was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Goney) Jones of Jamestown; two daughters, Maria Jones Conatser and husband Steve of Grimsley and Britney Jones of Jamestown; son, Casey Jones of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Sam and Shelly Conatser of Grimsley; 10 brothers, Alfred Jones husband of the late Vickie Jones of Jamestown, Rodney Jones and wife Jaylena of Jamestown, David Jones of Jamestown, Carlos Jones and wife Wanda of Richmond, Ind., Doyle Jones of Jamestown, Merle Jones and wife Pam of Anderson, Glen Jones of LaFayette, Tenn., Robert Jones and wife Rosalee of Jamestown, Darrell Jones and wife Melinda of Jamestown and Jerry Jones and wife Treasa of Grimsley; sister, Barbara Jones Shelton of Jamestown; mother-in-law, Susie Goney of Grimsley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Jones; mother, Ruby (Bow) Jones; and brother, Roger Jones.

Services were conducted Nov. 13 in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Ben King and Wallace Terry officiating. Burial was in the Jones Family cemetery. Active pallbearers included Carlos Jones, Glen Jones, Merle Jones, Robert Jones, Doyle Jones, Alfred Jones, David Jones, Darrell Jones, Rodney Jones, Jerry Jones, Chester Jones and Dwayne Jones. Honorary pallbearers included Logan Neal, Steve Conatser, Steve Sarten, Kirby Crockett, Gary Owens, Mike King, Randy Goney, Hollis Yates, Wallace Terry, Alvia Huddleston, Randy Dishman and Steve Conatser.

Arrangements were handled by Jennings Funeral Home, Jamestown, Tenn.

Deigh-Dee (Lowe) Huffman, 26, Anderson, died Nov. 28, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.

DANIELSVILLE, Ga. - Janice M. Lyons, 67, Danielsville, died Nov. 28, 2004, at Athens Regional Med Center. Arrangements are pending at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson.

Clois JD Neal
Oct. 29, 1944 - Nov. 27, 2004

TIPTON - Clois JD Neal, 60, Tipton, died Nov. 27, 2004, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He served from 1962 to 1968 with the U.S. Army.

Survivors include children, Dustin Neal and Jesse Wayne Manis; brothers and sisters, Eva Jean Maffen and Maggie Norris, both of Anderson, Barbara Sue Welcher, Donna Faye Elston and Donald Ray Neal; and three grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Porter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Julia M. Perez
April 12, 1912 - Nov. 27, 2004

ELWOOD - Julia M. (Martinez) Perez, 92, Elwood, died Nov. 27, 2004, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital.

Survivors include four sons, Florencio 'Smoke' Perez, Joe Perez Jr., Robert M. Perez and Antonio 'Tony' Perez; daughter, Esther Jeske; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Joe Perez, died Oct. 4, 1978.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dunnichay Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dunnichay Funeral Home.

Richard D. Raney
Aug. 2, 1947 - Nov. 28, 2004

SUMMITVILLE - Richard D. Raney, 57, Summitville, died Nov. 28, 2004, at his residence after an extended illness.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Vinson) Raney; a son, Rick Raney; a brother, Jim (Rhonda) Raney; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Vinson cemetery in Summitville where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Elwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5782.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Union Chapel Community Church through the funeral home.

Bessie E. Ebert
April 10, 1923 - Nov. 27, 2004

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. - Former Elwood resident Bessie E. Ebert, 81, Lawrenceville, died Nov. 27, 2004, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Ill., after a brief illness.

She was born April 10, 1923, in Lebanon, and was a licensed beautician in Elwood for more than 30 years. She was a graduate of the Elwood Beauty School. She loved to go shopping.

Survivors include a daughter, Johna (husband, Jack) Jeffries of Robinson, Ill.; and a son, Kevin (wife, Carolyn) Ebert of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Addie (Thomas) Smith; husband whom she married on Dec. 25, 1946, John R. Ebert, who died on Oct. 5, 2004; an infant son, Robert Ray Ebert; three brothers, Glen Smith, John Smith and Harold Smith; and a sister, Wanda Jones.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, Elwood, with the Rev. Paul Boss of the Greentown Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will be in Elwood City cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
