March 7, 1923 - Nov. 23, 2004

Natalie G. Wallace, 81, of Anderson, died Nov. 23, 2004, at her residence.

She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on March 7, 1923. She had lived in this area since 2000.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Anderson.

Survivors include seven children, Terra Faith and husband Harry 'Butch' Stumpf of Pendleton, James Clayton and wife Linda Everet of Anderson, Christina Hope Wallace of Des Moines, Iowa, Scott and wife Sharon Wallace Fairfield, Texas, Carolyn Nini of Spring, Texas, Anita Hatfield of Cozumel, Mexico, and Lisa Garza of Conroe, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hadily Wallace, whom she married in 1967; father, Clayton Elwood Baldwin; mother, Gladys 'Peggy' (Clark) Franklin; brother, Clayton Franklin Baldwin; and son, Melvin Lee Everet.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1030 Delaware St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Raymond Bradley. Burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association; LifeStream; Habitat for Humanity or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Local arrangements are being handled by Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory.

Robert D. Knuckles
Jan. 25, 1941 - Nov. 30, 2004

Robert Dale Knuckles, 63, Anderson, died Nov. 30, 2004, at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Detroit, Mich., and had been an Anderson resident since moving here from Venice, Fla., in 1965.

He retired in 1996 from the Anderson Police Department as a lieutenant after 30 years of service. He had served as shift commander, traffic commissioner and Public Affairs Division commissioner.

He was a graduate of Sarasota High School in Sarasota, Fla. He graduated from Anderson University with a degree in criminal justice and public administration, University of Kentucky with a degree in industrial security management and crime prevention, and Southern Police Institute. He had more than 2,000 hours of criminal investigation schooling at Indiana University and other police training seminars.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he once served as the youth director. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was active in various civic and community organizations including, the Mayor's Task Force on Unemployment. He was founder, director and adviser of an all Eagle Scout Explorer Post of the Anderson Police Department and adviser to Retirement Housing Foundation. He was on the board of directors for the Gruenewald Historical Home and the Anderson PAL Club. He was past president of the Madison County Historical Society. He was a substitute teacher in the Anderson Community Schools system.

He is survived by his wife, Tamra L. (Ewald) Knuckles, whom he married April 15, 1967, in Anderson at St. John's Lutheran Church; two sons, Robert D. Knuckles II and wife Kathryn (Snodgrass) of Fishers, and Christopher L. Knuckles and wife Carrie (Schul) of Noblesville; brothers and sisters, Gary and wife Dorothy Knuckles, Don and wife Shelley Knuckles, Patti Ann and husband Jim Davis, all of Florida, Jim Knuckles of Massachusetts and Jeff Knuckles of Colorado; mother-in-law, Helen M. Ewald of Anderson; brother- and sister-in-law, Erich and MaryLee Ewald of Anderson; five grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Megan, Alexander and Zachary; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard 'Jack' and Leona C. Knuckles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Manning officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery, Anderson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the South Chapel and one hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson Christian Center, United Faith Housing and St. John's Lutheran Church.

Fred W. Conner
March 2, 1944 - Nov. 30, 2004

Fred W. Conner, 60, Anderson, was called home to be with his Lord & Savior on Nov. 30, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born March 2, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio, and lived in this area most of his life. He retired from Delphi Division of General Motors as a chemical engineer after 33 years of service.

He was a graduate of South High School and Youngstown State University in Ohio.

He served his country as a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was very involved in the Bell Choir, taught adult education, Lay Ministry, was a Stephen Minister and was involved with many more activities with his church. He was an avid cyclist and raised money for several charities through cycling. He was an avid fan of amateur sports and was involved in his children's sports careers. He was also an avid recycler, was very involved with Habitat for Humanity and also gave to many other charities.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen (Stoneburner) Conner; three children, Carla and husband John Knowles of Anderson, Jeff and wife Heidi Conner of Pendleton, and Brian Conner of Anderson; mother, Jane (Bergman) Conner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Niada Stoneburner; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Albert Emerick; five nieces and nephews, Edward Emerick, Pamela Emerick, Matthew Emerick, Rachel Chiofolo and Richard Stoneburner; grandchildren, Rodney Conner, Ross Conner, Matthew Knowles, Nicholas Knowles, Olivia Conner and Sam Conner.

He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, several cousins and a host of special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Conner; and his grandparents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 716 Rainbow Blvd., Anderson, with the Rev. Mark Whitsett officiating.

Burial will be in Grovelawn cemetery, Pendleton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, and one hour prior to service at the church.

J. Lenore McNealy
Dec. 5, 1908 - Dec. 1, 2004

Jessie Lenore (Stuckey) McNealy, 95, Anderson, died Dec. 1, 2004, at Summitville Convalescent Center.

She was born Dec. 5, 1908, in South Bethany, Ind., and resided in Summitville. On Dec. 16, 1933, she and Arthur E. McNealy of Columbus and Anderson were married at the parsonage of the East Columbus Christian Church. She lived in Madison County since 1934.

After graduating from Indiana Business College, she worked as the secretary and bookkeeper at Simm's Hardware. She was a homemaker.

She attended the old one room school on North Washington Street, (known as the Quick School) until 1922 when the family moved to Clifty Township and she attended New Penn Grade School and the freshman and sophomore grades of high school. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1926. That fall, she returned to Columbus High School for some commercial classes. She graduated from Indiana Business College in 1927.

They became members of the East Lynn Christian Church in 1938 and were active there until health problems arose. She was a member of East Lynn Crusader's Class and CWF. She was a member of Killbuck Retirees.

She is survived by her son, Nelson McNealy and wife Jacquilyn of Summitville; three grandchildren, Gregory E. and wife Denise McNealy of Westfield, Phillip D. and wife Kelly McNealy of Muncie, and Jill D. and husband Mark Scholer of Yorktown; great-grandchildren, Sara Bailey of Frankton, Ryan and Kelly Scholer of Yorktown, and Jamie and Jordan Lennartz of Muncie. Other of her family members are her sister and brother-in-law, Iolus and Lester Schlehuser of North Carolina, Stephen and Nancy Schlehuser and family of North Carolina, Sue and Orvis Chaffin and daughter of West Virginia, Sara and James Mayfield and family of Maryland and Charles and Carolyn Schlehuser of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married Dec. 16, 1933, Arthur Edward McNealy, who passed away on June 13, 1993; her parents, Lawrence E. and Mary Ann (Ping) Stuckey; and a granddaughter, Beth Ann, in 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home, Hope, Ind., with the Revs. Susan Cameron and Mike Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Garland Brook cemetery, Columbus.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home, Hope.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to East Lynn Christian Church Building Fund.

Rachel A. Mitchell
Sept. 24, 1961 - Nov. 29, 2004

Rachel Ann Mitchell, 43, Anderson, died Nov. 29, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 24, 1961, the daughter of Robert Baker and Barbara Mitchell of Anderson. She had lived most of her life in Anderson, attending Highland High School and was a supporting member of the Vietnam Veterans Club.

Rachel is survived by two children, Johnny Ray Mitchell and Lacey Elaine Mitchell, both of Missouri; brother, Robert Baker and his children, Kasey and Michael Baker; an aunt, Jackie Mitchell of Anderson; an uncle, Danny (wife, Joan) Mitchell of Florida; her grandfather, Russell Mitchell of Anderson; her fiance', Phillip Davis of Anderson; special friends, Bonnie Gregory, Dreatha Lawson and Ellen.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Baker; father, Robert Baker; sister, Roberta Baker; grandmother, Lillian Mitchell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Williams officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to help with expenses through the funeral home.

Victor S. Warner
Aug. 20, 1922 - Dec. 1, 2004

Victor Stanley Warner, 82, Anderson, died Dec. 1, 2004, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Curtisville, and returned to Anderson five years ago. He resided in Florida for 25 years. He married Martha A. Miller on April 5, 1944.

He was a supervisor for General Motors for 21 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He served in the U.S. Army as a T-5 in the 809 Tank Destroyers Battalion during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda L. and Larry Beouy of Van Buren, and Janet S. and Bruce Harris of Summerville, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley E. and Mary Ann Warner of Anderson; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Ruby B. (Brown) Warner; wife of 60 years, Martha A. (Miller) Warner, on July 27, 2004; and a brother, Weldon M. Warner, in 1974.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. James Storey of the First Nazarene Church officiating with the Rev. Kenneth Fuller assisting. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge cemetery Mausoleum in Muncie.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International or First Church of the Nazarene.

Harriet Bushong Collis
May 6, 1926 - Nov. 30, 2004

MIDDLETOWN - Harriet Bushong Collis, 78, lifetime resident of Middletown, died Nov. 30, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center in Anderson after a brief illness.

She was born May 6, 1926, in Middletown, the daughter of Osa and Gretchen Swain Bushong. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1987 after more than 40 years of service.

She was a member of the Cornerstone Ministries of Anderson.

She and her husband, Shirell Eugene, would have celebrated 50 years of marriage next year.

She is survived by her husband and two children, Mary Ann (Carter) Stewart of Middletown and John (Tammy) Collis of Middletown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Georgiannis Able, in 1956.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown, with the Rev. Joe L. Huff of Cornerstone Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Julie A. Huebner
April 2, 1947 - Dec. 1, 2004

PENDLETON - Julie A. (Shafer) Huebner, 57, Pendleton, died Dec. 1, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center, Anderson, after a brief illness.

She was born April 2, 1947, in Elkhart, and lived in this area since 1992. She was the owner/operator of Midget Vending in Pendleton.

She was a graduate of Central High School in Elkhart.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Anderson. She was an avid bingo player. She was an active member for the Indiana School for the Blind Alumni and a member of the Indy Bowling League for the Blind.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 19 1/2 years, Robert Huebner; a daughter, Sherrie J. Reynolds and fiance' Jason Scholten of Elkhart; two sons, David A. Reynolds II of Pendleton, and Jeffrey E. and wife Bonnie Huebner of Evansville; a sister, Christine L. Shafer of Elkhart; two brothers, Larry L. and wife Carijuan Shafer of New Harmony, and Lin R. and wife Heidi Shafer of Elkhart; six grandchildren, Courtney Huebner, Patrick Weaver, Drew Weaver, Laurel Reynolds, Liam Reynolds and Julien Scholten; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many bingo and bowling friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold R. and Doris M. (Wolfe) Shafer; two brothers, Terry R. Shafer and Kim L. Shafer; and a sister, Belinda K. Felder.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with the Rev. Rick Pirtle officiating. Cremation will take place with a burial service in Prairie Street cemetery, Elkhart, at a later date.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the South Chapel.

Contributions may be made to the Indiana School for the Blind Alumni Association.
