Jimmie W. Johnson

ALEXANDRIA — Jimmie W. Johnson, 83, Alexandria, died Dec. 2, 2004, at Summit Convalescent Center, Summitville, after an extended illness.
Jimmie was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Indianapolis, the son of Harry and Pauline (Collins) Johnson.
Jimmie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria and Alexandria Lodge 235 F&AM; and Alexandria Bright Post 87 of the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army Air Corps. He spent most of his enlisted time on Tinian Island in the South Pacific. He retired from the Alexandria Fire Department after 25 years of service. During his tenure with the Fire Department, he served as fire chief.
After his retirement Jimmie spent most of his time fishing and became an avid golfer.
His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bonita “Bonnie” (DeLong) Johnson; a son, Danny (wife, Susie) Johnson of Frankton; a daughter, Nancy Paddock of Alexandria; a son-in-law, Robert Paddock of Alexandria; a sister, Ann Fowler of Stanton, Mich.; sister-in-law, Martha DeLong of Summitville; four grandchildren, Angela (Scott) Carroll-Parker, Bobby (Amy) Paddock, Julie (John) Bivens and Joni (Chris) Allen; 10 great-grandchildren, Brenna Baledge, Aaron Baledge, Suzi Bivens, Brandon Key, Brittney Key, Colin Allen, Ryan Robert Paddock, Larissa Paddock, Savannah Paddock and Casey Parker; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, a brother, Robert Johnson, and grandson, Harry Johnson, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Alexandria, with the Rev. Cliff Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Park View cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria, and one hour before services Monday at the church.
Enroute to the cemetery, the funeral process will pass by the Alexandria Fire Station where the Alexandria Fire Department will give an honorary salute to its fallen comrade.
The family requests memorials are made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
Tisha B. Jackson
Jan. 3, 1981 - Dec. 2, 2004
Tisha Brooke Jackson, 23, Anderson, died suddenly Dec. 2, 2004 at St. John’s Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 3, 1981, in Odessa, Texas, and was a lifelong Anderson resident.
She is survived by her father, Tommy Jackson of Anderson; mother, Diana Howdyshell of Texas; four brothers, Shannon Tuttle, Tommy (wife, Debbie) Jackson, Loring (special friend, Christy) Jackson and Ricky Howdyshell; two sisters, Tracy (Jackson) Mellott and Lisa (Jackson) Rodgers and husband Jeff; maternal grandparents, Bev and Dick Dearmond; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; and special friends, Kyle Bertrum, Sandra Leever and her daughter, and Christy Lazenby.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loring and Neta Jackson
Services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the South Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Madison County.
Karen K. Green
Dec. 27, 1938 - Dec. 2, 2004
Karen K. (Norbury) Green, 65, Anderson, died Dec. 2, 2004, at Community Northview, Anderson, after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 27, 1938, in Elwood, and was a resident of this area as well as spending 30 years in Arizona.
She had been a teacher in the Paradise Valley School District in Phoenix, Ariz.
She attended Butler University and graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in education.
She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity. She loved nature, hiking, traveling, artistry, crafts, making jewelry, reading and listening to music.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Lin Green of Anderson; husband, Fredric J. James of Anderson; stepchildren, Kimberly Rhodus of Anderson, Tamara Baker of Nashville, Tenn., Lisa James of Yankeetown, Fla., and Jeff James of Valparaiso; sister, Sara and husband Karl Keller; niece and nephews, Doug Jackson of Pendleton, Cindy Smith of Indianapolis and David Jackson of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and the fifth great grandchild is due in April; and many special friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and the staff at St. John's Medical Center and the staff at Community Northview for their care and concern.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Byron and Frances (McCreary) Norbury; and a son, Scott Thomas Green, on Aug. 15, 2001.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with Dr. Audrey Borschel officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the South Chapel.
Contributions may be made to the Christian Center or the Heart Disease Research Foundation.
James A. Davis
Feb. 27, 1947 - Dec. 2, 2004
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - James A. Davis, 57, Chesterfield Township, died Dec. 2, 2004, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Clinton City, Mich., after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 27, 1947, in Indianapolis, and lived in Pendleton for 33 years. He has lived in Michigan for the last four years.
He formerly worked for Indiana State Police and Delco Remy. He currently worked for Securitas Security, formerly Pinkerton Security, as the director of U.S. operations and was over security for all the Delphi factories in the United States.
He attended Fall Creek Christian Church. He was a member of Madison Masonic Lodge 44 F. & A.M., Madison County Shrine Club and Order of Eastern Star 138. He served on the Pendleton Fire Department for 17 years, Pendleton Police Department for 20 years as a deputy, served on Pendleton Ambulance Board of Directors and the Pendleton Town Board for three years. He was the assistant chief for the Pendleton Fire Department and the chief of the Pendleton Ambulance.
He is survived by his wife, Linda S. (Baker) Davis, whom he married
Aug. 4, 1967; two daughters, Kimberly and husband Scott Robinette of Frankton, and Stacey and husband Brady Baker of Pendleton; parents, Raymond and Peggy (Craig) Davis of Greenfield; two brothers, Leo and wife Karen Davis of Greenfield, and Ken and wife Gladys Davis of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Christopher Todd and Matthew Robinette; nine nieces; eight nephews; 12 great-nieces; and nine great-nephews.
Also surviving are very special friends, John and Cathie Stewart, Sue Quinlan, Maurice and Susan Cooper and Derrek and Bobbi Hosier.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenfield Christian Church, with the Rev. Roy Norville officiating. Burial will be in Park cemetery, Greenfield, Ind.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
A Madison Masonic Lodge service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to a trust fund for his grandson with special needs, Matthew Robinette.
Thelma Holloway
Oct. 14, 1917 - Dec. 1, 2004
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Former Pendleton resident Thelma (Allen) Holloway, 87, Flowery Branch, died Dec. 1, 2004, at Wildwood Nursing Home in Flowery Branch.
She was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Jeffersonville, and was a lifelong resident of Pendleton moving to Georgia in May this year. She was a bookkeeper and receptionist for Pendleton Bank for 25 years, retiring 15 years ago.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pendleton, and Tri Kappa Sorority, Pendleton. She was a graduate of Pendleton High School. She was an avid bowler and golfer in her youth.
Survivors include a son, Randy A. (wife, Kathy) Holloway of Buford, Ga.; two grandchildren, Erica (husband, Roy) Whitmore of Brownsville, N.Y., and Ryan (wife, Christi) Holloway of Lilburn, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren, Troy Whitmore and Aidan Holloway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Grace (Johns) Allen; and her husband, James Lewis Holloway, whom she married
Nov. 22, 1940.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Bright Chapel, Pendleton, with Pastor Tim Wilbur officiating. Burial will be in Grovelawn cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Hortense E. Thompson
Nov. 7, 1911 - Nov. 30, 2004
Our precious Mother, Hortense Elizabeth (Bryant) Thompson, turned 93 when the good Lord came and took her on Nov. 30, 2004, at Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Anderson, and lived in Anderson all of her life, moving to Dayton, Ohio, eight years ago.
She had a very full life which included owning Thompson's Grocery, being a homemaker and then retiring to Florida.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was in several ladies organizations and other community organizations.
Leaving behind on her quest to heaven are the following family members including her two sons, Robert A. and wife Doris Thompson of Asheville, N.C., and Frank V. and wife Constance Thompson of Fort Wayne; four daughters, Lois and husband Howard Ehle of Mooresville, Janice and husband Bob Morris of Dayton, Ohio, Claudia Morrell of Lenexa, Kan., and Carol Ann and husband Frank Easel of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; brother, John Bryant of Anderson; 25 grandchildren, Alice (Steve) DeHoff, Nancy (Art) Avila, Sherry (Darrell) Brown, Shirley (Jeff) Weedling, Birdella (Daniel) Boone, John Ehle, Robin (Randy) DaVee, Scott (Lori) Ehle, Debra (Gene) Szynaski, Shirley (Kenneth) Ellington, Kenneth (Mindy) Thompson, Craig Thompson, Constance (Greg) Wilbanks, Cynthia (Dan) Herr, Kelly White, Sandra (Timothy) Staten, Ronda (William) Spriggs, Jay Morris, Kelly (Thomas) Vanckrgriff, James (Jaime) Morris, Nobel (Joann) Morrell, Mathew Morrell, Frank Fasel, Thomas Fasel and Katherine Fasel; 51 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester V. and Edith M. (Wann) Bryant; daughter, Sandra Thompson; grandson, Kevin Thompson; and six brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church; 1215 Jackson St., Anderson, with the Rev. Bill Mathys officiating. Friends and family are invited to First United Methodist Church after the burial for a dinner.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Alma Creech
Sept. 17, 1920 - Dec. 1, 2004
Alma Creech, 84, Anderson, died Dec. 1, 2004, at Community Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Owsley County, Ky., and lived in Anderson since 1943.
She was employed in production at Delco Remy for 39 1/2 years, retiring in 1982. She graduated in 1939 from Clarksburg High School. In 1925 the family moved to Franklin County, and then moved to Decatur County. She attended Central Wesleyan Church in Anderson.
She liked gardening. She loved to crochet items for other people. She made more than 1,000 lap quilts and walker bags for local nursing homes. She enjoyed serving others. She participated in Life Enrichment Series. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662.
Survivors include two sisters, Bertie Creech of Anderson and Georgia Coen of Shelbyville; brother, Steve Creech of Midway, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Creech, in 1978 and Leah (Hall) Creech, in 1984; two brothers, Stanley and Whitley Creech; and four sisters, Lillie Shoaf, Geneva Fields, Agnes Ring and Allie Cox.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Revs. Robert Pavey and Richard Carr officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in South Park cemetery in Greensburg.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Kentotis Foree
INDIANAPOLIS - Kentotis Foree, 78, Indianapolis, died Nov. 27, 2004.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed in environmental services and as a truck driver for the government for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Juanita (Middlebrooks) Foree; sons, Kentotis (Alberta) Foree, Barry Foree, Derek (Deborah Majors) Foree and Rodney Foree; a daughter, Beverly Foree Wright of Anderson; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Billie) Foree; and four sisters, Ruth Foree, Myrtle (Charles) Diggs, Eva Foree and Patricia Dennis.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Philips Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
