Ella L. Stokes
CICERO -- Former Arcadia resident Ella Louise (Rushton) Stokes, 84, Cicero, died April 3, 2001, at the home of her caregivers.
She was a farmer and worked for 20 years in the laundry department at Riverview Hospital, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ann Powell; three sons, Creston K. Stokes, Stephen Earl Stokes and William A. Stokes; a brother, Robert Rushton; four sisters, Delores Renner, Helen Gray, Clarabelle Estep and Norma Jean Warfel; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with the Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Burial will be in Cicero cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gerald C. Leedom
Gerald C. Leedom, 77, Anderson, died April 4, 2001, at ManorCare Nursing Home after an extended illness.
He was born March 30, 1924, in Anderson, and was a lifelong resident of Anderson. He was employed by Warner Press for 19 1/2 years and Bright Corp. for 19 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Madison County Historical Society and served as treasurer for 10 years. He was a member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, active in Boy Scout work and attended two Boy Scout jamborees, visited the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and served as a leader for Explorer Post 2004 at Park Place Church of God. He was a 77-year member of Park Place Church of God where he served on the ushering staff.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hart Leedom, whom he married
June 18, 1977; two brothers, Melvin (wife, Ruth) Leedom of Anderson and Everett (wife, Lisa) Leedom of Honolulu, Hawaii; adopted children, International students, David Griffith and George Otieno, both of Philadelphia, Pa., Cyril Joudieh of Beruit, Lebanon, Cynthia Joudieh Lowell of Virginia Beach, Va., Toks Ogunlunga of Washington, D.C., Jean Claude Monperous and Serge Monperous, both students at Anderson University; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry H. and Nona Edna (Trick) Leedom; brother, Myrl Leedom in 1983; and sister-in-law, Lois Leedom in 1998.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastors Don Collins, Donald Johnson and David Coolidge officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Historical Society Museum Fund or the Explorer Boy Scout Post at Park Place Church of God, Anderson.
Avis E. Keene
FORTVILLE -- Avis E. "Ernie" (Sharr) Keene, 73, Fortville, died April 3, 2001, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
She was born March 30, 1928, in Little Cincinnati, Ind., the daughter of Russell Sharr and Josephine Burch. She retired from RCA in Indianapolis in 1987. She also worked for RCA in Bloomington before moving to Fortville. She attended Perkinsville Community Church.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd Borden of Fortville and Terry (wife, Duretta) Borden of Indianapolis; two daughters, Kimberly Kincade of Fortville and Penny (husband, Joseph) Miller of Lapel; brother, Dewey (wife, Roseanna) Sharr of Indianapolis; sister, Elva (husband, Henry) Mathes of Spencer; former daughter-in-law, Sherry Borden of Pendleton; 10 grandchildren, Randy Borden, Valerie L. Kincade, Derek R. Kincade and Taylor M. Kincade, all of Fortville, Wendi (husband, David) Thompson of Ingalls, Tina (husband, Darian) Marian of Spokane, Wash., Michael (wife, Michelle) Borden of Middletown, Joshua R. Miller of Cherry Point, N.C., Kimberly M. Moore and Jamie N. Moore, both of Indianapolis; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Keene, whom she married
May 31, 1957; her parents; and two brothers, John Sharr and Russell Sharr.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Aleshire of Perkinsville Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Lawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Benjamin L. Floyd
Benjamin Lewis Floyd, 55, Anderson, died March 29, 2001, living life to the fullest with family on vacation in Virginia Beach, Va.
He was born Oct. 11, 1945, in Tallahassee, Fla., the son of Jesse Floyd and Bernice Graham, and moved to Anderson from Barstow, Fla. He was a 1964 graduate of Union Academy and a 1969 graduate of Tuskegee Institute with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He started as a college co-op student at Delco Remy in 1966. He retired as manufacturing manager at Magnequench International on Jan. 1, 2001, after 34 years of employment with General Motors and Magnequench combined.
He attended Second Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member for 21 years; instrumental in starting the church's tutoring program; member of the Usher Board; Church Building Fund Committee; and received numerous awards for educational and dedicated service to the church.
He was the recipient of the Center for Mental Health "Family of the Year Award June 2000" and received formal state approval of his consulting firm "Best Practices Manufacturing Services, LLC." The Madison County NAACP has proclaimed April 7, 2001, as "Freedom Fighter Day" in his honor.
He was a member of the United Way, Chamber of Commerce and the NAACP, where he was past president and political action chairman; represented the NAACP in negotiating the fair share agreement with the city of Anderson; and received the President's Award. He was a member of the Urban League, where he received the William B. Harper Award & Meritorious Service Award; and Distinguished Service and Leadership Award.
He was involved with the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial; Civil Rights & Community Service Award from Black Expo; Boy Scouts of America; received Anderson's People Making a Difference Award; and active member during the 1960s registering black voters.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Melanye Rachelle Floyd; son, Patrick (wife, Colleen) Floyd of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Langa S. Floyd of Indianapolis, Tamu K. (husband, Gary L.) Walton of Bloomington, and Baraka D. Floyd and Ciara R. Floyd, both of Anderson; two brothers, Jerome M. (wife, Dorothy) Floyd of Montoursville, Pa., and Reginald (wife, Lourdes) Floyd of Winter Haven, Fla.; two sisters, Myra L. Floyd of Baltimore, Md., and Joan (husband, Robert) Guest of Louisville, Ky.; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Alexia, Alanna, Aaron and Avery Floyd.
Also surviving are special friends, John McGrady, Alfonso (Major) Wilson, Odell and Mammie Thorns, Josh McGrady, Rick Bramwell, Frank Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with special remarks being conducted from 7 to 8 p.m. and viewing also from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Gholar & Gholar Funeral Service, 2223 Nichol Ave., Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Second Missionary Baptist Church Tutoring Program and Building Fund.

Miro Consalmagno, 86, Anderson, died April 4, 2001, at his residence after an extended illness.

John J. Rambis
John J. Rambis, 86, Anderson, died April 3, 2001, at Community Northview Care Center.
He was born May 23, 1914, in Sullivan County, and lived his adult life in Anderson. He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in Anderson.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryle (husband, John) Claxon of Anderson; son, John R. (wife, Rita) Rambis of Anderson; eight brothers and sisters, Sophie Bolinger and Joe Rambis, both of Sullivan County, Bill Rambis of Anderson, Mary Owen of Washington state, Mike Rambis of California, Andrew Rambis Jr. of Muncie, Albert Rambis of Skokie, Ill., and Stanley Rambis of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Erin Schlabach of California, Andy Schlabach, Lissa Anne Rambis and David Rambis, all of Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Malique Anthony Reese and Seraiah Reese; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Maxine (Vinyard) Rambis; two brothers, Tony Rambis and Frank Rambis; a sister, Anne (Rambis) Holsman; and his parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with the Rev. Dwight Grubbs of Park Place Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the South Chapel.

Kenneth W. McCoy
HARTFORD CITY -- Kenneth W. "Kenny" McCoy, 79, Hartford City, died March 30, 2001, at Community Hospital in Anderson.
He retired in 1983 from St. Joe Container in Hartford City after 36 years of employment.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen L. (companion, John "Butch" Thompson) Smith of Alexandria, and Jacqueline (husband, Chet) Bond; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Keplinger Funeral Home with the Rev. William Pieper officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory cemetery in Muncie where military rites will be conducted by the Moyer-Pooler American Legion Post, Hartford City.
Visitation will be two hours before services today at the funeral home.
Helen C. Kuch
NOBLESVILLE -- Former Anderson resident Helen C. (McQueary) Kuch, 84, Noblesville, died April 3, 2001, at Riverview Hospital.
She was a registered nurse, founder and director of Visiting Nurse Association in Anderson for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She also worked at St. John's and Community hospitals.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Helmer; sister, Irene Bush; three stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Moser officiating. Burial will be in Crownland cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton County Senior Citizens Association.
Richard Fuller
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Richard "Uncle Buddy" Fuller, died March 29, 2001.
He was employed by Wagnon Auto Parts and also owned and operated Fuller's Grocery for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou Fuller; six children, Luvina Leflore, Richard (Marie) Fuller Jr., Jimmie (Ella) Fuller, Evangelist Mary C. Fuller of Anderson, Babarba (Jessie) Fuller and Henry (Cheryl) Fuller; stepdaughter, Dorothy Holloway; brother, Howard (Ruthie) Fuller; three sisters, Rosie Dowell, Pauline Rollin and Francis Gray of Anderson; 40 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Services will be noon Saturday at Union Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with Pastor Robert Laster Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Madison cemetery.

SPRINGPORT -- Robert Lee Bunner, 90, Springport, died Feb. 18, 2004, at Americare Nursing Home in New Castle following an extended illness.
He was a lifelong farmer and retired in 1990.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years: Eunice (Martin) Bunner; two sons, Greg (Rebecca) Bunner and Melvin (Martha) Bunner; three stepsons, Lonnie (Donna) Martin, David (Karen) Martin and Steve (Char) Martin; a stepdaughter, Beverly (Rick) Heskett; five grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; a brother, Gilbert Bunner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Dorothy Marie Bunner.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown, with the Revs. David Siebenaler and Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn cemetery in Springport.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

ALEXANDRIA -- Larry Joe Allen, 66, Alexandria, died Feb. 19, 2004, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a sudden illness.

Kenneth Chambers

Kenneth Chambers, 55, Anderson, died Feb. 18, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was a self-employed carpenter after serving in the U.S. Army for three years including service in Vietnam.
Survivors include his mother, Hanaka Chambers.
A graveside service will be held at noon today at Marion National cemetery in Marion.
There will be no visitation.
