Dorothy P. Smith
FAIRMOUNT -- Dorothy P. Smith, 85, died April 6, 2001, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Larry L. Smith; her daughter, Kay (husband, Bill) Harris; and her sister, Margaret (husband, Bill) Windsor; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a dear friend, Diana Sickman.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, officiated by Jackie Michaelson. Burial will be in Park cemetery, Fairmount.
Visitation hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Smith Infant
PENDLETON -- Hunter H. Smith, infant son of Charles H. and Amy R. (Davis) Smith, died April 6, 2001, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Kyndra Smith and Alyssa Wilson; maternal grandparents, Lynn Davis and Robert Rummell; maternal great-grandmothers, Edith Harlow and Georgina Beyers; maternal great-great-grandmother, Lillian Baker; paternal grandparents, Jack and Donna Smith and William and Linda (Hennis) Cloud; paternal great-grandmother, Lucille Smith; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Belle Fox.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home, 112 W. Staat St., Fortville, officiated by the Rev. Dale Ward. Burial will be at Gravel Lawn cemetery near Fortville.
Visitation hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Grace K. Nash
FRANKTON -- Grace K. Nash, Frankton, 88, died April 5, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born Aug. 21, 1912, in Republic County (Belleville), Kan., the daughter of John and Alice Kuhn, now deceased. She came to Madison County, Frankton, following graduation from Marion College and taught in the elementary schools, largely grade 1, for 34 years, retiring from the Frankton schools in 1977.
She was a member of Shiloh Friends Church where she and her husband of 60 years were co-pastors for most of 40 years. She attended Kansas University, Cleveland Bible Institute and was graduated from Chicago Evangelistic Institute before coming to Marion College (IWU).
She was recorded (ordained) as a minister and was actively engaged as co-pastor along with being mother, wife and school teacher. Following retirement from teaching and pastoral work, she and her husband ministered for 10 years to Native Americans in Oklahoma and Alabama, sandwiching in three summers as part-time missionaries at Friends Schools in Ramaliah, West Bank, Jordan.
She and her husband, Sterrett Nash, whom she married
Aug. 17, 1940, had two children, Jannice Peterson of Anderson and Gary (wife, Nancy) Nash of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Brad (wife, Tina) Samuels of Fort Wayne, and Ryan Nash and Heather Nash, both of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home with Gary Simmons and Robert Medows officiating. Burial will be in New Hope (Phlox) cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Miro Consalmagno
Miro Consalmagno, 86, Anderson, died April 4, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born March 15, 1915, the son of Nicholas and Nancy (Rota) Consalmagno.
He retired in 1980 from the Drakenfeld Co.
He was a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church in Washington, Pa. He was a 1933 graduate of Washington High School, Washington, Pa. He was a member of the sons of Italy and the Elks both of Washington, Pa.
Survivors include his wife, Amy (Fuller) Cole-Consalmagno; a son, James Consalmagno of Washington, Pa.; four stepchildren, Jeff Cole of Anderson, Billie Snowded of Beaver, Pa., and Tom Cole and Amy Reeves, both of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Anne Christy of Houston, Texas and Mary Consalmagno of Washington, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha (Brown) Consalmagno; his brother, Anthony Consalmagno; a sister, Catherine Olson; and a stepdaughter, Darlene Taylor.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at William G. Neal Funeral Home, 395 E. Maiden St., Washington, Pa., officiated by the Rev. Paul Harrington. Burial will be in Washington cemetery, Washington, Pa.
Visitation hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at William G. Neal Funeral Home.

Gerald C. Leedom
Gerald C. Leedom, 77, Anderson, died April 4, 2001, at ManorCare Nursing Home after an extended illness.
He was born March 30, 1924, in Anderson, and was a lifelong resident of Anderson. He was employed by Warner Press for 191Ú2 years and Bright Corp. for 19 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a 1942 graduate of Anderson High School. During his high school years he ushered at all the basketball and football games. He also served as a scorekeeper.
He attended Anderson College from 1942-1943 and served as a cheerleader for the basketball team. The slogan "Lead them with Leedom" was used in their cheering.
He was a member of the Madison County Historical Society and served as treasurer for 10 years. He was a member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, active in Boy Scout work and attended two Boy Scout jamborees, visited the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and served as a leader for Explorer Post 2004 at Park Place Church of God. He was a 77-year member of Park Place Church of God where he served on the ushering staff.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hart Leedom, whom he married
June 18, 1977; two brothers, Melvin (wife, Ruth) Leedom of Anderson and Everett (wife, Lisa) Leedom of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister, Opal Ruth Leedom Helvering of Lolo, Mont.; two grandsons; adopted children, International students, David Griffith and George Otieno, both of Philadelphia, Pa., Cyril Joudieh of Beruit, Lebanon, Cynthia Joudieh Lowell of Virginia Beach, Va., Toks Ogunlunga of Washington, D.C., Jean Claude Monperous and Serge Monperous, both students at Anderson University; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry H. and Nona Edna (Trick) Leedom; brother, Myrl Leedom in 1983; and sister-in-law, Lois Leedom in 1998.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastors Don Collins, Donald Johnson and David Coolidge officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Historical Society Museum Fund or the Explorer Boy Scout Post 2004 at Park Place Church of God, Anderson.
Philip Stiefler
Philip Stiefler, 87, Anderson, died April 4, 2001, at Community Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born March 1, 1914, in Omaha, Neb., and moved to Anderson in 1927 from St. Louis, Mo. He retired in 1982 as an architect from Arthur B. Henning Architects in Anderson after 28 years of em-ployment.
He was a member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. He was a 1932 graduate of Anderson High School. He attended Ball Sate University and graduated from the University of Cincinnati.
He was a member of the Monument Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis, Rotary Club and the YMCA Board. He was a member of the Edgewood Town Board and a 50-year member of the B'nai Brith, where he held many offices.
Survivors include a sister, Frances S. Stiefler of Anderson; sister-in-law, Mrs. Carolyn Stiefler of Marion; and a nephew, Norman Stiefler of Louisville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida E. (Horwich) Stiefler; and a brother, David N. Stiefler in 1989.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery.
Visitation will be 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at the South Chapel.
Ella L. Stokes
CICERO -- Former Arcadia resident Ella Louise (Rushton) Stokes, 84, Cicero, died April 3, 2001, at the home of her friends and caregivers, Larry and Mary Ann Morris.
She was born Dec. 22, 1916, near Lapel, the daughter of Oscar Alonzo and Virgie Marie (Garrison) Rushton. She was a graduate of Strawtown School, north of Noblesville.
On Aug. 8, 1936, she married
Leonard Earl Stokes.
She was a homemaker, a farm wife and worked for 20 years in the laundry department at Riverview Hospital, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ann Powell of Arcadia; three sons, Creston K. Stokes of Cicero, Stephen Earl Stokes of Westfield and William A. Stokes of Atlanta, Ind.; a brother, Robert Rushton of Arcadia; four sisters, Delores Renner of Lapel, Helen Gray of Anderson, and Clarabelle Estep and Norma Jean Warfel, both of Yorktown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Earl Stokes, April 29, 1983; two brothers, Frank Rushton and Earl Rushton; and sisters, Geneva Hahn, Glendora Hollis and Vivian Maxine Rushton.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with the Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Burial will be in Cicero cemetery.

Betty M. Kendall
PENDLETON -- Betty M. (McCoy) Kendall, 71, Pendleton, died April 2, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Jackson County, Ind., and lived in the Anderson-Pendleton area most of her life. She retired on March 1, 1988, from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 11 years of employment.
She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663. She was active in Boy Scouts and the Pendleton Little League.
Survivors include three sons, Paul (wife, Neica) Kendall of Pendleton, Gary (wife, Angie) Kendall of Anderson and Dallas (wife, Jeanie) Kendall of Pendleton; brother, Charles McCoy of Anderson; sister, May Swift of Alabama; seven grandchildren, Josh Kendall, Kevin Kendall, Kory Kendall, Jordan Kendall, Samantha Kendall, Tiffenie Kendall and Lea Kendall; and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are special friends, Bob and Nadine Lasley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kendall, Nov. 1, 1999; parents, Albert and Lucy (Flenerr) McCoy; and 10 brothers and sisters.
There will be no services. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson.
Ralph S. Jack
ELWOOD -- Ralph S. Jack, 83, died April 5, 2001, at Community Hospital Anderson after a brief illness. Arrangements are pending at Copher & Fesler Funeral Home, Elwood.
Mary L. Chapman
RICHMOND -- Former Pendleton resident Mary Louise (Phipps) Chapman, 84, Richmond, died April 4, 2001, at Reid Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Michael Chapman; two daughters, Rebecca Fultz and Vicki Jolly; brother, Bill Phipps; two sisters, Rebecca Bines and Priscilla Love; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Huntsville cemetery with the Rev. Larry Barkdull officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory Bright Chapel, Pendleton.
William D. Wilson
ALEXANDRIA -- William Donald "Butch" Wilson, 79, Alexandria, died April 5, 2001, at Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness.
He was born June 12, 1921, in Alexandria, the son of Orville and Zoe (Draper) Wilson, and lived in Alexandria all of his life. He was a retired farmer. He served his country in World War II with the United States Army.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 87 in Alexandria and the Alexandria Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1776.
Survivors include his caregiver, Micheal Thompson of Alexandria; special friends, Richard Thompson of Pendleton and Emily Closser of Alexandria; a brother, Quentin Wilson of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Margaret Wilson of Alexandria; and an aunt, Margaret Wilson of Alexandria.
Also surviving are special and close friends, Richard and Ruth Thompson of Alexandria, and Harold and Doris Lee Thompson of Alexandria.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hueston-Whetsel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Stark of the Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior officiating. Burial will be in Park View cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
