Arthur F. Weaver
Arthur F. "Jack" Weaver, 84, rural Geneva, died Tuesday at home.
He was born on September 17, 1913 in Adams County to Charlie and Pearl Minger Weaver. He married
Dorothy M. Brewster on July 17, 1934; she survives.
He retired from farming in 1985 and was a lifetime member of the Tri-State Gas Engine Club. He also was a member of Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors are three sons, Wayne, Stanley, and Tex Weaver, all of Berne; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Myrna) Tumbleson, Berne, and Gloria Orme, Decatur; a sister, Madeline Agler, Rome City; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Phyllis J. Weaver, is deceased.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, with burial in Riverside cemetery, Geneva. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Thursday and 9-11 a.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the Adams County chapter of the American Heart Association.

Tamyra L. Norman
Tamyra L. Norman, 40, of N. Second St. in Decatur, died at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday in Adams County Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.

August F. Schroeder
August F. Schroeder, 92, Fort Wayne, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born on March 16, 1906 in Allen County to William L. and Sophia Gallmeyer Schroeder and married
Mathilda Hockemeyer on September 19, 1936; she died on June 1, 1986.
He was a retired farmer who formerly worked at Decatur Industries. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church at Bingen and its Men's Club.
Surviving are a son, Karl W. Schroeder, rural Monroeville; a daughter, Martha Bulmahn, rural Decatur; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James Schroeder; three brothers, Walter, Reinhart, and Lawrence Schroeder; and two sisters, Luella Hockemeyer and Erna Merkle.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting hours are 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to "The Lutheran Hour" program, Worship for Shut-Ons, or the donor's choice.

Karl H. Beer
Memorial services are scheduled in Decatur for Karl H. Beer, 74, Sycamore, Illinois, who died on September 19, 1997 in Rockford, Illinois.
The native of Vera Cruz married
Ruth Kimble on November 29, 1950; she survives.
He was a former Decatur resident who was a salesman for Continental Grain Co. for 38 years. A member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Sycamore, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving a bronze star.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Kim) Vitkus, Sycamore; a son, Brian Beer, Malta, Indiana; two sisters, Mildred Beer, Atlanta, Georgia, and Irene Beer, Indianapolis; a brother, Rev. Howard Beer of Indianapolis, a former Decatur pastor; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion United Church of Christ, Decatur, with interment in Decatur cemetery. Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Preferred memorials are to the Leukemia Society.
Memorial service arrangements were by Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.

William A. Coleman
William A. Coleman, 68, Churubusco, a former Hoagland resident, died Wednesday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Among survivors are his wife, Esther; a son, DeWayne Coleman, Hoagland; three daughters; a stepson; and a stepdaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sheets Funeral Home, Churubusco, with entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.

A.J. CARROLL
A.J. Carroll, 79, Anderson, died May 5, 1999, at Community Hospital after a six-month illness.
He was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Berne, and lived in Anderson most of his life. He retired from the tool room at Guide Lamp in October 1975 after more than 35 years of employment.
He was a member of AMVETS Post 26, Fraternal Order of Eagles 174, Moose Lodge 150, American Legion 127, Forresters and the Redmen Lodge.
Survivors include son, Larry (wife, Sandy) Carroll of Greenwood; daughter, Patty (husband, George) Gosnell of Anderson; daughter, Janice Carroll of Anderson; son, David Carroll of Anderson; six grandchildren, Eric (wife, Maria) Huffman of Anderson, Melanie (husband, Andy) Kerschbaum of Texas, Marnie (husband, Jim) Short of Pendleton, Christy Petty of Anderson, Vicki (husband, Jeff) Moore of Arizona, and Bret (wife, Sandy) McKay of Anderson; stepgrandchildren, Tammy (husband, Mark) Gaskill and Shelly (husband, Kevin) Wethington, both of Indianapolis, and Libby Gosnell of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Ana, Holly, Sarah, Matthew, Christopher, Sierra, Cheyenne, Luke, Logan, Gage, Markie, McKayla and Madison; a sister-in-law; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona (Dailey) Carroll; a brother; and three sisters.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Free Methodist Church with the Rev. John Lane officiating. Mr. Carroll has donated his body to the Indiana University Medical Center for study.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
BILL CUNNINGHAM
Bill "Billy" Cunningham, 59, Anderson, died unexpectedly May 5, 1999, at St. John's Medical Center.
He was born in Muncie, attended St. Lawrence Catholic School and graduated from Muncie Central High School.
He served in the Army in the early 1960s and was employed at Guide Lamp in Anderson for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663, American Legion Post 127, Anderson, and Veterans of Madison County.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Joseph Cunningham of Anderson, and David Bryan Cunningham of Arcadia; two sisters, Judy Campbell of Yorktown, and Janie (husband, William R.) Cunningham Hole of Alphraetta, Ga.; grandson, Christopher Bryan Cunningham of Arcadia; two nieces; and two nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Muncie. Burial will be in Beech Grove cemetery in Muncie where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Meeks Mortuary, Muncie, and after 9 a.m. Saturday until the cortege leaves for the church at 10:45 a.m.
MARY D. DURKE
OAKLANDON - Former Anderson resident Mary D. Durke, 68, Oaklandon, died May 6, 1999, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis after a brief illness.
Arrangements are pending at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson.

TIPTON - John P. Edwards, 72, Tipton, died May 5, 1999, at Tipton County Hospital.
He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1988 after 38 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Katherine Edwards; three daughters, Rebecca Nelson, Linda (husband, Charles) Stacy and Rita Jo (husband, Tim) Cooper; extended children, Mitchell Gibson, David Gibson, Lucille Waters and Judy Watson; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Porter Funeral Home with Pastor Lawrence Huffhand officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
PAULINE F. HARTMAN
WARSAW - Pauline F. (Harman) Hartman, 85, Warsaw, died May 5, 1999, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was retired from Kimble Glass Inc., Warsaw.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Doris C.) Hale of Middletown; tow sons, Ellis R. Hartman and Thomas A. Hartman; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Randy Packer officiating. Burial will be in Oswego cemetery in Oswego.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
JOSEPH B. HARVEY
PENDLETON - Joseph Barrett Harvey, 41, Pendleton, died May 5, 1999, at his residence.
He worked in the body shop of Dickinson Fleet Service of Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Beth (Smith) Harvey; son, Jason Harvey; two brothers, Jeff Barrett and Fred Barrett; sister, Melanie Eaks; grandmother, Betty Rose; a niece; and a nephew.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pasco Memorial Mortuary in Greenfield with the Rev. Don Watson officiating. Burial will be in Eden cemetery in Eden.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
HELEN M. JEFFERY
MIDDLETOWN - Helen Marie Jeffery, 84, Middletown, died May 5, 1999, at Miller's Merry Manor after an extended illness.
She was born March 5, 1915, in Henry County, and had resided in Middletown and Cadiz. She was a 1933 graduate of Cadiz High School.
She was the retired operator of The Post Restaurant. She raised beagle pups for years. She was a member of Center Chapel Church, Order of Eastern Star of Greensboro and was justice of the peace in Pendleton in the 1950s.
Survivors include a brother, Gerald Riggs of Shirley; sister, Anna Mae Watkins of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Paul F. "Pete" Jeffery, died in 1975.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ballard & Sons Funeral Home, Middletown Chapel, with Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Grovelawn cemetery in Pendleton.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
