Dorothy E. Ball, 91, of Fort Wayne, a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Renaissance Village.

The Elmira, N.Y., native retired from Lincoln Life Insurance in 1970 after 42 years of service. Surviving are a nephew, Robert Ball of Fort Wayne; and nieces Dianne Raynor of Indianapolis and Denise Bellant of Ossian. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials are to Cancer Services of Allen County.

Timothy Brown
Fort Wayne — 1966-2001

Timothy Brown, 34, of Fort Wayne, a graduate of Harding High School, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Parkview Hospital.

The Fort Wayne native had worked at Zollner Piston Corp. and was recently working at VOCA as a supportive assistant. Surviving are his wife, Christy; a daughter, Elizabeth, at home; a stepdaughter, Jordan Harvey of Fort Wayne; his parents, Walter and Mary of Newbern, Ala.; a sister, Katrina Suel of Atlanta; and brothers Walter, Herman, Charles and Christopher, all of Fort Wayne. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Carmichael Funeral Service, 831 E. Jefferson Blvd., with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens.

Alma K. Doctor
Fort Wayne — 1916-2001

Alma K. Doctor, 84, of Fort Wayne, a member of GE Elex Club, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at Lutheran Home.

The Fort Wayne native retired from General Electric after 40 years of service. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Lutheran Home. Her hobbies were sewing and quilting. Surviving are sisters Velma Houser of Fort Wayne and Norma Wyckoff of Roanoke. She was preceded in death by brothers Walter and Arthur Doctor and sisters Mathilda Nord and Margarett Fuelling. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Lutheran Home Chapel, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd., with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to the church, Worship for Shut-Ins or Lutheran Home.

James E. Bryson
Fort Wayne — 1957-2001

James E. Bryson, 43, of Fort Wayne, a Marine Corps veteran, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Dry Ridge, Ky.

The Terre Haute native was a mechanical engineer at Dana Corp. and a foster parent for more than 15 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church and Northrop Big Orange Pride pit crew. Surviving are his wife, Debra D.; sons Mark W. and Zachary P. Kelhi and Jeremy S. and Jonathan W. Bryson, all of Fort Wayne; his parents, William E. and Melrose of Fort Wayne; a brother, Kevin Stephens of Ashley; sisters Deb Arnett of Fort Wayne, Cheri Wicker of Kendallville, Brenda Stephens of Waterloo and Flo Watson of Boiling Springs, S.C.; and one grandchild. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Highland Park cemetery. Memorials are to the children's education fund.

Herminia Lemus
Fort Wayne

Herminia Lemus, 50, of Fort Wayne died Monday, June 18, 2001, at Lutheran Hospital.

The Moroleon, Mexico, native was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Baltasar; sons Fernando, Vicente, Fidel and Alfredo, all of Fort Wayne; daughters Jovita Lemus of Mexico and Naci and Amalia Lemus, both of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Calling is from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday with 2:30 p.m. vigil services at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St. Burial will be at Dolores cemetery, Moroleon, Mexico. Memorials are to the family.

John T. Moisica
Fort Wayne — 1930-2001

John T. Moisica, 70, of Fort Wayne, a Korean War U.S. Army veteran, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Parkview Hospital.

The Fort Wayne native retired in 1986 from Slater Steel after 37 years of service. His hobby was CB radio. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; sons Nick C. of Columbia City and Matthew of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Julie Williams of Fort Wayne; a brother, Paul of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday with a 4:30 p.m. wake service. Burial will be at Highland Park cemetery. Memorials are to the Easter Seals or ARC of Northeast Indiana.

Mildred Lee Baker
Fort Wayne — 1931-2001

Mildred Lee Baker, 70, of Fort Wayne, a licensed missionary, died Monday, June 18, 2001, in St. Paul, Minn.

The Memphis, Tenn., native was a former supervisor of the missionary branch for Oakridge Temple Church of God in Christ. Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Cornelius; daughters Lu Ava Brackett of St. Paul, Minn., and Marsha Baker of Fort Wayne; sons Byron of Bloomington, Minn., and Darin of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; sisters Lillie Calhoun and Carrie Goins, both of Gary, Juanita Douglas of Chicago and Gladys Douglas of Fort Wayne; a brother, Booker Douglas of Gary; and one grandchild. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakridge Temple Church of God in Christ, 2808 Evans St., with calling from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Bill E. Stabler
Fort Wayne — 1931-2001

Bill E. Stabler, 69, of Fort Wayne, who was retired from machine maintenance, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Parkview Hospital. "He earned Korean Service and United Nations Service medals, the Bronze Service Star, and Combat Infantry Badge." The Fort Wayne native retired in 1994 from Zollner Corp. after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed reading, puzzles, pets and family. Surviving are his wife, Jayne; sons Stephen of Fort Collins, Colo., Scott, Mike, Matthew and Andrew, all of Fort Wayne, and Anthony of New Haven; sisters Pat Buchholz of Muskegon, Mich., and Joan Emberlin of Flagstaff, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 8669 Auburn Road, with calling a half-hour before services. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St. Memorials are to Canine Companions.

Raymond W. Brandt Sr.
Leo-Cedarville — 1929-2001

Raymond W. Brandt Sr., Ph.D., Ed.D., 72, of Leo-Cedarville, a scientist in the health and safety field, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at home.

"Raymond loved serving the Lord, family and fellow twinless twins, and endeavored to leave this world a better place." The Defiance, Ohio, native founded and directed a support group for twinless twins in 1985. He was editor of Twinsworld magazine for five years and had published poems including his first book, "Resurrection to Crucifixion." He was a member of Grabill Missionary Church and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Miriam I.; sons Robert R. of Winston-Salem, N.C., Raymond R. Jr. of Portland, Brian P. of Windham, N.H., and Dr. Jon M. of Green Bay, Wis.; stepsons Kevin Lane of Albion, Brian Lane of Indianapolis and Jared Lane of Fort Wayne; brothers Marvin of Defiance, Ohio, the Rev. Edward of Willard, Ohio, and Stephen of Dayton, Ohio; sisters Joyce Conners of Swartz Creek, Mich., Virginia Brandt of Mansfield, Ohio, the Rev. Alvera Letho and Marlene Brandt, both of Toledo, Ohio, and Marian Steingass of Defiance, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, including his twin. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State St., Grabill, with calling one hour before services. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial will be at Arlington National cemetery, Arlington, Va. The Orwin, Pa., native retired in 1979 from Magnavox Corp. after 30 years of service. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy J. Kaiser of Fort Wayne; sisters Pearl C. Houtz of Fort Wayne, Iva M. Culton of Williamstown, Pa., and June W. Stoudt of Middletown, Pa.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Highland Park cemetery. Gladys Stevenson Gruber Bush
Fort Wayne — 1911-2001

Gladys Stevenson Gruber Bush, 90, of Fort Wayne, a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hicksville, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Applewood Health Center.

The Woodburn native had worked at several Fort Wayne restaurants and at Club Olympia. Surviving are sons Lewis Gruber of Fort Wayne and Don Gruber of Larwill; daughters Barbara DeFord of Hicksville, Ohio, and Sandra Hadley of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Velma Bush Beerbower, a sister and six brothers. Services are 3 p.m. (Ohio time) Saturday at Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, Ohio, with calling after 6 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Diehl cemetery, Allen County, Ind.
