McArther C. Abernathy, 17, of Fort Wayne, a student at Northrop High School, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Parkview Hospital.
"McArther loved music. He was a caring and loving person and friend to all who will be greatly missed."
The Fort Wayne native worked for the Kroger store on State and was a member of Greater Progressive Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Austin B. of Fort Wayne; his mother, Patricia Abernathy of Fort Wayne; his father and stepmother, L.C. and Tunicia Brooks of Fort Wayne; a sister, Bobette F. Abernathy of Fort Wayne; and his grandparents, Geraldine Abernathy and Bailey and Ann Brooks, all of Fort Wayne.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Greater Progressive Baptist Church, 2215 John St., with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Lindenwood cemetery.

Fort Wayne — 1924-2000
Dale E. Windmiller, 75, of Fort Wayne, a World War II Army veteran, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Saint Anne Home.
The Geneva native had worked for North American Van Lines and for Bob Dunn Ford in Van Wert, Ohio, as a leasing manager. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and American Legion Post 82.
Surviving are his wife, Donna M.; sons Gregory A. of Carrollton, Texas, Gary E. of Fort Wayne and James R. of Zionsville; daughters Lynne M. Goneau of Tampa, Fla., and Janice A. Hooten of Fort Wayne; brothers Arthur of Ossian and Cloid of Amherst, Ohio; and 14 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 8669 Auburn Road, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial will be at Highland Park cemetery.

Fort Wayne — 1907-2000
Mabel A. Grubb, 93, of Fort Wayne, a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Harborside Healthcare in New Haven.
The Churubusco native retired in 1969 from General Telephone, had worked there since 1966 and for Indiana Bell Telephone from 1941 to 1966. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist.
Surviving are a son Gerald E. of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Patricia A. Troutman of Coldwater, Mich.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F., three brothers and four sisters.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 E., New Haven, with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens.

Fort Wayne — 1925-2000
Beverly J. Sprunger, 75, of Fort Wayne, a retired executive secretary and administrative assistant, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.
The Fort Wayne native retired in 1989 from Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. after 30 years of service. She attended First Missionary Church, was a member of its Senior Fellowship, a member of Loyal Service Club of Lincoln Life, Fort Wayne-Allen County Historical Society and volunteered as a Sunday school secretary.
Surviving are a brother, Walter H. Sprunger of Fort Wayne; a nephew, Thomas L. Sprunger of Fort Wayne; two grand-nephews; and three grand-nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., with calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Janell S. Kleine Scott, 35, of Hoagland, a member of St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at home.
The Decatur native was a homemaker and had worked as a closing coordinator for Wray and Associates in Fort Wayne. She was a member of the Heritage Girls state championship team of 1982, HAAA and Women's Cancer Center of Lutheran Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Michael; daughters Jenna and Monica, both at home; a son, Bradley at home; her parents, Harold and Marceil Kleine of Decatur; a sister, Carma Conrad of Ossian; and brothers Kenton and Delin Kleine, both of Hoagland, and Trent Kleine of Fort Wayne.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen, Decatur, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran cemetery-Bingen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin, and a brother, Jack Ewing.

The Fort Wayne native was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved bingo and caring for others.
Surviving are sons Steven Neer and David Wyatt, both of Fort Wayne; daughters Kim Perry and Cathy Lee, both of Fort Wayne, and Sarah Johnson of Fremont; brothers Richard W., Michael S., Charles E. and Robert E. Wyatt Jr., all of Fort Wayne; sisters Luella A. Nelson of Sioux Falls, S.D., Alma L. Springer and Linda L. Zimmerman, both of Fort Wayne, and Shirley Lee of Fairmount; and 14 grandchildren.

Bobbie Jean Davis, 72, of Fort Wayne, a telephone typist, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Lutheran Hospital.
The Memphis, Tenn., native had worked with Western Union for 20 years, retired in 1990 from Magnavox after 10 years of service and had worked for North American Van Lines for five years. She was a member of American Sewing Guild and Belle Vista Doers and enjoyed sewing, cards and old movies.
Surviving are sons Keith and Jerry, both of Fort Wayne, Charles of Grand Haven, Mich., and John of Fairfield, Calif.; daughters Suzanne Coak of Fort Wayne, Nancy Starks of Columbus, Molly Thomas of DeLeon Springs, Fla., Diane Parrish of Center Point and Terri L. Gray of Dothan, Ala.; a brother, Gordon Alder of Rochester Hills, Mich.; sisters Rosemary Corradi, Mildred Mack and Kay Ball, all of Charlevoix, Mich., Phyllis Korn of Boyne City, Mich., and Margie Ely of Gaylord, Mich.; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
