Leota Runyon Gilbert, 90 -- Rites Pending
Leota Runyon Gilbert, 90, of Montpelier, died at 4 a.m. today, Nov. 26, at the United Methodist Memorial Home at Warren. Funeral arrangements are pending at Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, in Montpelier.

Ida S. Yost, 91
Funeral services for Ida S. Yost, 91, of Berne, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.
Mrs. Yost died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
She had worked at Decatur Industries from 1959 to 1980 and had resided in Decatur until moving to Berne in July 1995. She was a 1928 graduate of Kirkland High School and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She was born at Preble Jan. 27, 1910 to Christian and Kathryn Korte Borne. Her marriage at Magley on June 23, 1934 was to Jay Jacob Yost, who survives.
Other survivors are two sisters, Eulalia Augsburger of Decatur and Edna Stewart of Fort Wayne, and two brothers, Raymond Borne and Chalmer Borne, both of Fort Wayne; She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Rev. Donald W. Biester officiated at the services Sunday and interment was in Decatur cemetery. Visitation hours were held Saturday and Sunday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, which had charge of arrangements.

Robert E. Taylor, 82
Funeral services for Robert E. Taylor, 82, of Warren, who died Friday, Nov. 23, at his residence, were held this morning in Montpelier.
Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, in Montpelier, was in charge of arrangements and burial was in Gardens of Memory at Marion.
A native of Huntington County, Mr. Taylor retired in 1982 as personnel manager at Dana Corp. in Marion after 28 years.
He was past president of the AFL-CIO in Marion and headed the United Way in Grant County.
Surviving are his wife, Claudine; a daughter, Saundra S. Hethcote of Warren; a son, Robert K. of Converse; a sister, Joan Davison of Columbia City; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his stepmother, Marjorie Taylor of Columbia City.

Marwin Daniel Horrom, 86
A memorial service will be held in Sebring, Fla., at 4 p.m. Tuesday for Marwin Daniel Horrom, 86, of Sebring, a former mayor on Montpelier, who died Friday, Nov. 23.
The service will be at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, which has charge of arrangements and cremation.
Mr. Horrom served at mayor of Montpelier from 1976 to 1980. He was the vice president at the Bank of Montpelier and owned the Horrom Insurance Agency in Montpelier.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Horrom was a member of Montpelier Masonic Lodge 600 and member and active in the First United Methodist Church at Montpelier and the St. John United Methodist Church at Sebring. He served for 30 years as chairman of the Salvation Army in Montpelier, member of the American Legion, past president and director of the Meals on Wheels in Sebring and past president of the Sebring Hills Association.
He was born in Farmington, Minn., Sept. 3, 1915 to Lyman Timothy and Mertie L. Prince Horrom.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean; four sons, Daniel of Denver, Colo., David of Kokomo, Herb of Auburn, and Richard of Montpelier; a brother, Lauren of Sturgis, Mich.; a sister, Eleanor Ferner of Sebring; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jennie M. Farber, 81
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jennie M. Farber, 81, of Fort Wayne, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1910 Hale St., Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Farber died Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Ossian Health Care.
Visitation hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 South Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, and at the church for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Catholic cemetery.
A homemaker, Mrs. Farber was born in St. Johns, Mich. Her husband, Charles H., died in 1983.
Surviving are three sons, Norman C. of Zephyrhill, Fla., Terry L. of Ossian and Michael D. of Defiance, Ohio; a daughter, Barbara J. Wagner of Ossian; a brother, Floyd W. Douglas of LaGrange; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Leota L. Gilbert, 90
Funeral services for Leota L. Gilbert, 90, formerly of Montpelier, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, in Montpelier.
Mrs. Gilbert died at 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, where she had resided for several years.
Visitation hours at the funeral chapel will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
Mrs. Gilbert served for many years on the Montpelier-Harrison Township Public Library Board. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier, serving many years as a Sunday school teacher, and a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority.
She was born in Linn Grove Nov. 25, 1911 to Courtney and Lilly Gentis Runyon. Her marriage was to Robert D. Gilbert, who died May 25, 1990.
Surviving are a son, Jack A. Gilbert of Fremont, Neb.; a brother, Reuben Runyon of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Nema Fields of Geneva; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

William A. Dentel, 79
Brother of Richard P. Dentel of Bluffton, William A. Dentel, 79, of Carmel, died Monday, Nov. 26, at Sunrise of Carmel Healthcare.
He was president of W.A. Dentel & Co. from 1954 until 1992 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
His wife, Emily, preceded him in death.
Surviving, in addition to the brother in Bluffton, are two daughters, Tracy D. Swearingen of Zionsville and Leslie R. Dentel of Fort Wayne; a half-sister, Yvonne Kaiser of Fort Wayne; and a grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Leppert & Hensley Mortuary, Nora Chapel, Indianapolis.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for two hours Friday prior to services.
Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association, to Denison University, or to Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

Joseph H. Davis, 75
Joseph H. Davis, 75, who resided on rural Warren in Wells County, died at 5:30 a.m. today, Nov. 29, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. He had been in failing health the last two years.
Mr. Davis worked for 30 years as a tool and die maker for Babcox & Wilcox Co. in Barberton, Ohio.
He was a member and active in the Covenant Chapel in Bluffton.
He was born in Creston, W.Va., May 14, 1926 to Alonzo and Minnie G. Shimer Davis. A first marriage was to Gladolia F. Kerby, who died in 1973; his second marriage at Barberton on Jan. 5, 1974 was to Kitty L. Scott, who survives.
Surviving also are a daughter, Mrs. Arley (Connie) Higginbotham of Warren; two sons, Mike Davis of Fairview Park, Ohio, and David Davis of Barberton; three children raised in the Davis home, Willie Higginbotham of Akron, Ohio, and Nathan Nutter and Jason Nutter, both at home; a sister, Ethel Kirby of Mineral Wells, Ohio; a brother, Clarence Davis of Belpre, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Two stepchildren and a brother are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Lawn cemetery Chapel in Akron, Ohio, with Pastor Arley Higginbotham officiating.
Visitation at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home in Bluffton will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday at the cemetery chapel in Akron from 10 a.m. until time for services.

Ronald K. Cravens, 68
Ronald K. “Hermo” Cravens, 68, of Huntington, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mr. Cravens worked as tool and die maker at Fisher Body in Marion.
He was a member of American Legion Post 85 in Huntington.
He was born in Huntington Feb. 5, 1933, a son of Roscoe and Ruth Walker Cravens.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alter (Angela K.) Dennis of Huntington; two brothers, Wallace M. of LaFountaine and Arthur D. of Maumee, Ohio; two sisters, Carol Ruble of Warren and Diana Wagner of Colorado; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A brother is deceased.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Parkview Apartments Community Building, 1334 Memorial Lane, Huntington, where visitation hours with the family will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials to the family in care of Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, which has charge of arrangements.

Florence M. Bond Tribolet, 91
Florence M. (Bond) Tribolet, 91, formerly of Clear Creek Township, Huntington County, died at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Tribolet was engaged for a few years as a teacher in Ohio and worked for more than 20 years in food service at Huntington North High School.
She was a member of St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ.
She was born at Defiance, Ohio, Dec. 22, 1909, a daughter of Harl and Dora Brechbill. A first marriage in October 1931 was to Theodore Bond, who died in April 1976; her second marriage in May 1982 was to Clifford Tribolet, who died in September 1993.
Surviving are three sons, Robert E. Bond of Tucson, Ariz., William L. Bond of Fort Wayne and Richard B. Bond of Dallas, Texas; a stepson, Rex Tribolet of Huntington; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter and a daughter-in-law are deceased.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, with Rev. Jonathan Heaslet officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s First Church of Christ cemetery in Huntington.

Opal J. Lund, 81
A former resident of Markle, Opal J. Lund, 81, of Marietta, Ga., died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at River Walk Village Nursing Center in Noblesville, Ind.
Mrs. Lund worked for 23 years for the ASCS office. She was a graduate of West Rock Creek High School in Huntington County and was a member of the Markle Church of Christ.
She was born in Huntington County March 13, 1920, the daughter of Omer J. and Josie A. Redding Creviston. Her marriage at Markle on Aug. 20, 1940 was to Harry B. Lund, who died Feb. 26, 1990.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ripton (Janet) Dudley of Marietta, Ga.; Colleen Didion of Fishers and Mrs. Dennis (Connie) Day of New Castle; a brother, Ralph Creviston of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday will be at the Markle Church of Christ with Gerald Moreland officiating. Interment will be in Markle cemetery.
Visitation hours at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel are today from 7 to 9 p.m.
