Dorothy J. Richardson, 73
Funeral services for Dorothy J. Richardson, 73, of rural Andrews will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pilchers Chapel United Methodist Church in Huntington.
Visitation hours at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel are today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Richardson died at 8 p.m. Sunday in Huntington County.
She was a 1945 graduate of Monument City High School and a graduate of the Marion Beauty School. She worked as a hairdresser for 28 years at the Bud Miller Coiffure Shop, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Pilchers Chapel United Methodist Church and the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association.
She was born in Huntington County June 3, 1927 to William A. and Iva M. Bare Rathfon. Her marriage in Auburn on Oct. 2, 1948 was to Daryl E. Richardson, who died July 15, 1995.
Surviving are a son, Greg Richardson of Plymouth, and three grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother are deceased.
Rev. Russell Buzzard will officiate at services and interment will be in the Monument cemetery in Huntington County.

Francis A. Winchell, 86
Francis A. Winchell, 86, grandfather of Indiana State Police Sgt. Rick Oatess of Bluffton, died at 11:04 a.m. Saturday at his residence in Marion.
He was a machine operator at Anaconda for 29 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a former member of American Legion Post 10.
Mr. Winchell was born March 12, 1915 in Marion and had lived there all of his lifetime.
Surviving, in addition to the grandson in Bluffton, are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard (Charlene) Oatess of Marion; two granddaughters, Mrs. Rhodes (Julie) Autry of Marion and Mrs. Robert (Lee Ann) Stephan of Valparaiso; another grandson, Robert Oatess; and nine great-grandchildren. His wife, Maxine, died in 1979, and a son, David, in 1978.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Raven Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park at Marion.
Visitation hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 12:30 until time for services. Memorial to the American Diabetes Association.

Huldah A. Farlow, 98
Huldah A. Farlow, 98, a former van driver for the Vera Cruz Opportunity School, died at 11 p.m. Monday at Chalet Village Retirement Center in Berne.
Born in Adams County Nov. 30, 1901, she was a former resident of Geneva and daughter of Bertrum and Rose Cottrell Parr. Her marriage was to Sampson Farlow, who died in 1969.
Mrs. Farlow attended the Maple Grove Church at Berne.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce of Fort Wayne and Allan of Geneva; three daughters, Ms. Sharon Farlow and Mrs. Fred (Deanna) Miller, both of Keystone, and Mrs. Francis (Jane) Huffman of Berne; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Five daughters, one son, three brothers and four sisters are deceased.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Downing Funeral Home in Geneva and burial will be in Spring Hill (Backesto) cemetery at Berne.
Visitation hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday for one hour prior to services.
Memorials to Adams County Hospice or to Calvary Bible Church in Berne.

Violet M. Alberson, 86
A native of Wells County, Violet M. Alberson, 86, died Sunday at the home of a daughter in Fort Wayne.
She retired from ITT Federal Laboratory after 15 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Beverly J. Dundon of San Diego, Nancy L. Murphy of Fort Wayne and Sharon L. Waterman of New Haven; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
There will be no services or calling time. Burial will be in Oak Lawn cemetery at Ossian. Memorials to Heartland Hospice.
Arrangements are by Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home at Waynedale.

Douglas Alan Street, 36
Brother of Brian W. Street of Markle, Douglas Alan Street, 36, of Marion, formerly of Huntington, died Friday at his home.
He was a laborer at Foremost Dairies in Texas.
Surviving, in addition to the brother at Markle, are his parents, Catherine and Richard Street, both of Huntington; three other brothers, Bruce R. of Huntington, Billy F. of Seattle and Michael Lee of Warren; and two sisters, Susan Hatala of Warsaw and Patricia R. Archbold of Huntington.
Graveside services will be at noon Wednesday at Mount Calvary cemetery at Huntington. There will be no visitation time.
Memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are by Hart Funeral Home in Huntington.

Rev. Robert D. Wilburn, 86
A former pastor of the Uniondale United Methodist Church, Rev. Robert D. Wilburn, 86, died Sunday at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.
A resident of Rochester and formerly of Winona Lake, he was born in Tipton County.
He served pastorates also at Twelve Mile, Jimtown, South Bend, Delphi, Oxford, Leo, South Whitley, Elkhart, Sheridan, Thorntown, Spiceland and Mexico.
Rev. Wilburn was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a retired lieutenant colonel.
His wife, Dorothy, died in 2000.
Surviving are three daughters, Roberta Hoover of Denver, Patricia Beehler of Tequesta, Fla., and Jan Fry of Syracuse; a son, Robert E. of Rochester; two sisters; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hazel Dell Church, near Windfall, with calling for 30 minutes before services and also from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial in Fairview cemetery at Tipton.

Nevo Ellison Oswalt, 88
A former resident of the Poneto area, Nevo Ellison Oswalt, 88, of Montpelier, died at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at Blackford County Hospital in Hartford City.
She was a native of Chester Township and had been a resident of the Poneto area most of her lifetime. She lived on Big Lake north of Columbia City from 1972 to 1987, when she moved to Montpelier.
She attended Lafayette Center High School in Allen County and was a member of the Chester Center Church in Wells County. Mrs. Oswalt attended First United Methodist Church in Montpelier and was a member of the Montpelier Senior Citizens organization.
Mrs. Oswalt was born Oct. 22, 1912 to Charles Frederick and Oral Gladys Fink Ellison. Her marriage at Hartford City on Jan. 7, 1933 was to Elmer “Pete” Oswalt, who died Dec. 30, 1982.
Surviving are two sons, Donald F. of Poneto and Gerald D. of Warsaw; two brothers, Lester Ellison and Eugene Ellison, both of Montpelier; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Nina Ruth) Schmidt of Montpelier and Mrs. Ed (Patricia Jane) Crispen of Winter Haven Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A sister and a brother are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glancy Funeral Homes Walker Chapel in Montpelier with Rev. Billy Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Friends cemetery at Keystone.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m.
Memorials to the Chester Center Church.

Loreto R. Eichhorn, 81
Loreto R. “Sis” Eichhorn, 81, of Decatur, died at 3:50 a.m. today in the Adams County Memorial Hospital Extended Care unit following a brief illness.
She retired on Oct. 1, 1979 from United Telephone Company following 14 1/2 years of employment and previously was employed eight years with the IRS office in Fort Wayne.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society and of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was born in Decatur Sept. 18, 1919 to Charles C. and Catherine L. Kriegel Lose. She was married on Jan., 10, 1951 in Fort Wayne to John R. Eichhorn, who survives.
Surviving also are six daughters, Eileen Eichhorn, Angela Klarke, Mrs. Ed (Mary Kathryn) Dyer, Mrs. Randy (Dorothy) McCullough, Mrs. Ray (Laura) Ditto and Mrs. Jim (Phyllis) Whitright, all of Decatur; four sons, Robert of Albany, and David, Charles “Chuck”, and Arthur, all of Decatur; a brother, Edward “Red” Lose of Cincinnati; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Three brothers are deceased.
A private family service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, followed by a public Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Father Phil DeVolder will officiate at rites and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery at Decatur.
Visitation hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials to the National Jewish Hospital Children’s Asthmatic Unit.

Joseph T. Glendining, 99, died at 2:05 a.m. today at his rural Geneva residence in Adams County. Services are pending at Downing Funeral Home in Geneva.

Mona Mae McCready, 61
Mona Mae McCready, 61, of Indianapolis, a former resident of Bluffton and Decatur, died Tuesday at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
A homemaker, she was born Oct. 22, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio. Her marriage was to Robert Edward Lewis McCready, who is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl P. Lenington and Charlene McCready; a son, Shawn McCready; two brothers, Leo D. Palm and Ray Casey Jr.; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Flanner & Buchanan Carmel Mortuary with cremation to follow. Calling will be for one hour prior to the service.

Franklin J. Loftus, 74
Father of Cheryl Beard of Bluffton, Franklin J. Loftus, 74, died Tuesday at Life Care Center in Fort Wayne.
Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was a store keeper for 21 years.
He also was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Surviving, in addition to the daughter in Bluffton, are his companion, Mary Eberle of Fort Wayne; three sons, Mark of Fort Wayne and Dan L. and David J., both of Decatur; another daughter, Karen M. Loftus of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services at 2 p.m. Friday will be at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne with calling for one hour before services. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
Calling also will be Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne.
Memorials to the church.
