Kedric D. Fishbaugh, 75
Kedric D. Fishbaugh, 75, of rural Bluffton, died at 1:47 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
A native and life long Wells County farmer, he was born on Aug. 10, 1929 to Vaughn and Edna Thomas Fishbaugh and married
Roberta M. Dill on July 9, 1955 in Markle; she survives.
Mr. Fishbaugh served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and retired from the Indiana State Highway Dept. in 1993 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ, the Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter in Markle, the Bluffton Masonic Lodge, and Wheels of Yesteryear.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Todd (Tamara) Williams of Bluffton and Mrs. Tom (Teresa) Stuntebeck of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Terry Fishbaugh of Huntington; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Markle Church of Christ with Rev. Gerald Moreland officiating. Calling hours are today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and for one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.
American Legion Post 111 will conduct military graveside rites; burial will be in Emmanuel cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the church or to the Emmanuel cemetery Association.

James Grice - Rites Pending

Marie T. Shafenacker, 84
Services for former Bluffton resident Marie T. (Ireland) Shafenacker, 84, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home in Bluffton. She died Sunday morning, Aug. 22, in Muncie.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1921 to Dr. W.G. and Helen Knapp Ireland, she moved to Bluffton at an early age and graduated from Bluffton High School. She worked as a PBX operator at Franklin Electric.
Survivors include two sons. Steven Kemper of Nipomo, Calif. and Kelly Smith of Syracuse, N.Y.; a daughter, Terri Winkle of Muncie; a sister, Mrs. Pat (Lorene) Garrett of Bluffton; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Ireland.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the First Church of the Nazarene in Bluffton.

Naomi E. Beaver, 71
Naomi E. Beaver, 71, Huntington, died at 11:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at her home. Born in Decatur on Sept. 26, 1932 to Clarence and Della Hower, she married
Dean R. Beaver on May 11, 1952 in Huntington; he survives.
A 1950 graduate of West Union Center High School, she was a homemaker and also worked as a dietary aide at Markle Health Care from 1988 to 2003. She was a member of the Union Church and the church’s Women’s Missionary Society.
Other survivors include two sons, Richard K. Beaver of Markle and Douglas L. Beaver of Huntington; two daughters, Nadean S. Brown and Cynthia S. Blocker, both of Huntington; two sisters, Jean Gilbert of Uniondale and Louise DeGroff of Mishawaka; a brother, Don Hower of Huntington; 11 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Duane A. and Kevin D. Beaver; and two brothers, Ed and Vaughn Hower. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home in Huntington. Services will be held in the chapel there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Union cemetery in Huntington County.

Reba Etta Abner, 78
A former rural Markle (Wells County) resident, Reba Etta Abner, 78, died Friday, Aug. 20 at the Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 4, 1926 in Jabez, Ky., to Adeline and Maude Perkins Sullivan, she married
Ray O. Abner on Aug. 2, 1943 in Jamestown, Ky.; he survives.
She was a member of the Markle Church of the Brethren and worked at Memcor-Truohm in Huntington for 23 years, retiring in 1990.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Gloria Kay) Bower of Petroleum and Mrs. Frank (Sharlon Rose) Robinson of Ossian; two sisters, Della George of Jamestown, Ky. and Geneva Stephens of Russell Springs, Ky.; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Miller.
Visitation hours are today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel. Services will be held there Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Horeb cemetery. Preferred memorials to the church.

Edward A. Norris, 47
A former resident of Wells County, Edward Alfred Norris, 47, of Neapolis, Ohio, died on Saturday, Aug. 21 as a result of an automobile accident.
Born in Ohio on April 23, 1957 to Samuel J. and Beth Ann Lane Norris, he married
Sheree R. Lockwin on July 26, 1980 in Valparaiso; she survives.
Mr. Norris was employed at NFM, Inc. in Wells County and was named as plant manager in 1987 at The Andersons in Poneto. He was currently the general manager of the Plant Nutrent Division at The Andersons Maumee, Ohio headquarters.
While in Bluffton, he was a member of the the First Church of the Nazarene, the Poneto Lions Club and served as president of the Bluffton Rotary Club in 1992-93. He was a member of the Foundation Stone Christian Church in Northwood, Ohio.
Additional survivors include his father and stepmother; two daughters, Deanna and Ashley Norris of Maumee, Ohio; four brothers, Jeffery Norris of Columbia City, Gary Norris of Churubusco, Martin Norris of Lebanon, and Andrew Norris of Huntertown; and two step brothers in Iowa. Other local survivors include an aunt, Alice Ann Van Wagner, and two cousins, Mary A. Towne and Cheryl Buckland.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. (Ohio time) at the Neville Funeral Home in Holland, Ohio. Services will be held Thursday at the Foundation Stone Christian Church in Northwood, Ohio at 10:30 a.m. Preferred memorials to the church.

James F. “Jim” Grice, 61
James F. “Jim” Grice, 61, of Bluffton, died at his residence at 6:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22. He had been in failing health for the past few months and death was attributed to cancer.
Born Nov. 15, 1942 to Irving and Opal Hesher Grice, he married
the former Janet Kline in Bluffton June 18, 1977. She survives.
He was a member of the Local 213 Laborer’s Union working for several area contractors. He retired in 1994. A U.S. Air Force veteran during the Vietnam era, he was a member of the American Legion Post 111, serving as its commander in 1993-94 and 2003-04. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6751, Geneva and a retired 20-year member of the Bluffton Fire Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Pam) Reynolds, Huntington, and Mrs. Stuart (Tami) LaFever, Geneva; stepdaughter Mrs. Jerry (Joanna) Pryor, Bluffton; stepsons Jeffery Meyer, Bluffton and Jay and Joseph Meyer, both of Ossian; a half-sister, Mrs. Fred (Patty) Bouse, Fiat; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday under the direction of Pastor Bruce Holland. Burial will follow at Six Mile cemetery with graveside rites by American Legion Post 111.
Calling hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice.

Edith “DeDe” Stultz, 88
Edith “DeDe” Stultz, 88, of Bluffton, died at her residence at 1:10 a.m. today, Aug. 24.
Born Nov. 30, 1915 in Adams County to Emil and Lilly Fiesley Schladenhauffen, she married
Leslie E. Stultz in Huntington April 22, 1936. He preceded her in death April 26, 1942.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Elaine) Reimschisel, Linda Stultz and Mrs. Timothy (Karen) Bauman, all of Bluffton; three brothers, Harold and Everett Schladenhauffen, both of Bluffton, and Warren Schladenhauffen of Garrett; a sister, Mrs. Homer (Clara) Fiechter of Tocsin; four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Services at the Apostolic Christian Church East will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday under the direction of ministers of the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling at Goodwin Memorial Chapel will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and also one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Ruby E. Fudge, 86
A native of Bluffton, Ruby E. Fudge, 86, died at Monday afternoon, Aug. 23, at Kingston Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.
Born April 2, 1918 to Clifford R. and Gladys Terhune Bradburn, she married
Joe J. Fudge in Bluffton Aug. 2, 1941. He preceded her in death in December of 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Sieveking, Punta Gorda, Fla.; and three sisters, Irene Watkins of Berne, Ruth McIntire of Hartford City and Jane Low of Jacksonville, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maro Bender.
There will be no calling. Mrs. Fudge’s cremains will be interred at Elm Grove cemetery with a private family graveside service at a later date.

Janice A. Graft, 61
Janice A.Graft, 61, of Ossian died Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was a seamstress and operator of Jan Ann Alterations, Ossian.
Born December 31, 1942, in Wells County, she was the daughter of Charles and Pauline Potter Myers. Her marriage was on July 27, 1963, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church to Daniel R. Graft, who preceded her in death on December 27, 1998. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Rhonda) Newcomer of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Steven Myers of Craigville, and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home in Ossian, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor William R.Brege officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn cemetery, Ossian.Memorials to donor’s choice.

Robert G. Latham, 56
Father of Suzie latham of Bluffton, Robert G. Latham, 56, of Muncie died Tuesday, Aug. 24 at Ball memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Born Aug. 18, 1948, in Moorehead, Ky., his parents were Paul and Mary Maxine Hatton Marcum. He grew up in Eaton, where he attended school, and retired in 1999 from BorgWarner in Muncie.
An avid gun enthusiast, he was a member of the Indiana Gun Club, the National Rifle Association and had won grand national competitions in both Indiana and Ohio. He was also a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group.
He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Local #287, the Free and Accepted Masons and the Church of God in Muncie.
In addition to the daughter in Bluffton, he is survived by daughters Melissa teal of Muncie and Mary Latham of Warren; one brother, Gene Marcum of Hartford City; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister Robyn A. Foster.
Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday will be in the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, Eaton. Burial will follow at Union cemetery, Eaton.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today and two hours prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Jennifer R. O’Reilly, 16
Jennifer R. O’Reilly, 16, of Bluffton, died at 4:51 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne from injuries suffered in a traffic accident earlier that afternoon.
Born in Bluffton on April 8, 1988 to Timothy C. and Rhonda J. Disbro O’Reilly, she was a sophomore at Norwell High School where she was a member of the Knight Star Ladies Show Choir. She was also a member of the Markle Church of the Brethren where she was active on its Praise Team and youth group.
Survivors include her parents of Bluffton; a brother, Justin O’Reilly and a sister, Jessica O’Reilly, also of Bluffton; maternal grandparents, Bob and Roberta Disbro of Markle and paternal grandparents, Tom and Sylvia O’Reilly of Calhoun, Ky. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Brennda O’Reilly.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Markle Church of the Brethren with Pastors Pam Princell and Gerald Moreland officiating. Visitation hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Interment will be in the Markle cemetery. Preferred memorials to the church’s music department.
