Walter Wendholt
HUNTINGBURG - Walter G. Wendholt, 90, died Tuesday morning, January 29, 2002, at the Northwood Good Samaritan Center in Jasper.
He was born on September 1, 1911, in Jasper, Indiana, to Leonard and Emma (Hoing) Wendholt. He was a retired furniture manufacturer, who was president and general manager of Huntingburg Wood Products Company. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntingburg, the Y.M.I. and the Huntingburg VFW Post 2366. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett (Melchior) Wendholt, who died on February 29, 2000, and by a daughter, Carolyn Buehler, who died in 1988.
He is survived by two daughters, Julia Mihelick of Salem, South Carolina, and Kathryn Snowden of Jasper; a son, Gregory Wendholt of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Mildred Kordes of Huntingburg; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Walter Wendholt will be held at 10 a.m. EST Saturday, February 2, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntingburg, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 2366 Memorial Detail.
Friends may call for visitation at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3 to 7:30 p.m. EST Friday. A parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. EST Friday evening.
Nora Fleeger
Nora I. Fleeger, 87, of Evansville formerly of Chandler, Ind., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She had worked as a medical aide.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen S. Nance; two sons, Stanley E. and Robert W.; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, burial in Newburgh's Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Townsend Community Church Building Fund.
Luella Kasbohm
Luella Adeline Kasbohm, 93, of Woodville, Texas, formerly of Evansville, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Holiday Pines Manor Nursing Home in Woodville.
There are no immediate survivors.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County, Texas.
Pauline Beard
BIRDSEYE - Pauline S. (Seaton) Beard, 81, died Tuesday, January 29, 2002, at Deaconess St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg of a heart attack.
Surviving are four brothers, Garrel, Aden "Jack," Novy Leo and Charles Eugene Carr.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial in Birdseye Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the cemetery.
Linda Dickens
MOUNT VERNON - Linda Irene (Plimpton) Dickens, 49, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born August 11, 1952, in Southbridge, Massachusetts. She worked at Casino Aztar in Evansville. She was preceded in death by Herschel L. Gottman.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roy L. Jr. and Tiffany Sue Dickens of Mount Vernon, Ind.; a daughter, Lori Jean Dickens of Mount Vernon, Ind.; a grandson, DJ Austin Dickens of Mount Vernon, Ind.; her fiance, David Bowerly; 3 sisters, Regina Quinn, Marjorie Lambert and Rebecca Blanchard; 3 brothers, James Plimpton II and Gerald and Lawrence Adams; a sister-in-law, Vicki Wiggins; her stepfather, Charles L. Spurlock; her ex-husband, Roy L. Dickens Sr.; 10 nieces; 12 nephews; 10 great-nephews; five great-nieces; and 9 cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2002, at Austin Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the expense fund of Linda Dickens in care of the funeral home.
Elsie Griffith
PETERSBURG - Elsie I. (Ficklin) Griffith, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
She had been a school cook.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Houchin; a son, James; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Friday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time.
Floyd Seitz
JASPER - Floyd Seitz, 68, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Gosport Nursing Center.
Surviving are three sisters, Anna Mae Kindle, Lucille Terwiske and Shirley Thompson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery
in Haysville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Chester Williams
ELBERFELD - Chester Ar-thur "Chet" Williams, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center of heart failure.
Chet was retired and was a 35-year member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 136. He was also a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters.
He was a member of Oakhill Baptist Church. Chet made woodworking crafts and sold them at Tri-State craft shows. He loved to fish.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Iona Williams of Elberfeld; a son, Chester Williams II and his wife, Lee Ann, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughters, Lisa Gibson and husband, Cliff, of Evansville and Angela Hall and her husband, Robert, of Elberfeld; a grandson, Joshua Williams, a granddaughter, Jessica Williams, grandsons, Jacob Williams, Kyle and Christopher Paisley, and Brian Hall, and a granddaughter, Sarah Gibson; a brother, Oliver Williams of Barbourville, Ky.; sisters, Pauline Williams and Bernice Pickels, both of Evansville, and Jean Adams of Escanaba, Mich.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oakhill Baptist Church, Reverend Glen Flowers officiating, burial in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Alexander East Chapel and from 9 a.m to service time Friday at the church.

James Barron Sr.
James T. Barron Sr., 82, of Evansville, died Friday, February 1, 2002. Mr. Barron owned and operated Broadway Market and Barron's Finer Foods for 50 years and later worked as a court bailiff for the Vanderburgh County Court for Judges Alan Kissinger and William Brune for 13 years. He was a member of Westwood General Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon and was president of his Sunday school class. He was also a life member of Optimist International. He was a past president of the West Side Optimist Club and Lt. Governor of the Indiana District of Optimist International. He was a graduate of St. Boniface Grade School and attended Memorial High School. He was a 1937 graduate of Reitz High School.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruby (Qualls) Barron; two daughters, Sondra L. Bartley of Quincy, Ill., and Mary Ann and David Bryant of Evansville; two sons, James T. and Karen Barron Jr. of Evansville and Paul E. and Kathy Barron of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Anna Mae Bauer, Ardelle Schneider and Marian Witting, all of Evansville; one brother, Richard M. Barron of Rogers Park, Minn.; grandchildren, Shay Drummond, Shannon Bass, Samuel, Stuart and Shane Bartley, Susan Hoffman, Tommy Barron, Stephanie and Adam Barron, Ryan Rupp, Jill, Ashley and Jessica Bryant, Kelly Barron, and a stepgrandson, Tony Alexander; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Pauline Mueller; his father, Simpson Paul Barron; two sisters, Dorothy Hausmann and Betty Handel; and one brother, Paul Edward Barron, in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 4, at Pierre Funeral Home, the Rev. John Sloan officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home.

Mary Claire Diekhoff
Mary Claire Horty Diekhoff, 73, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2002, at her home. She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. She retired after 33 years as a legal secretary for Bamberger Foreman Oswald & Hahn. She was a former member of the American Business Women's Association. She enjoyed antiquing, restoring antiques and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter Kathy Ann Diekhoff of Newburgh; 2 sons, James & Kelley both of Evansville; daughter-in- law Donna Diekhoff; 4 grandchildren John, Andrew, Joey & Alexandra Diekhoff; sister-in- law Rita Horty of Evansville. A son Robert Diekhoff preceded her in death in 2000.
Services will be on Tuesday, February 5, at 8:30 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel and continued at 9 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, the Fr. Harold Hammerstein officiating.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 4, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home with a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Monday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
