Larry Sutter
BOONVILLE — Larry Duane Sutter, 50, died of cancer Friday, March 30, 2001, at home.
He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 90 and Boonville Worship Center.
He was a hunter, fisherman, gardener and woodworker.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Diana Lynne (Grooms); two stepdaughters, Vonnie L. Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tammy D. DeWitt of Boonville; a son, Charles R. of Redkey; a stepson, Michael E. Goller of Boonville; his mother, Mary Lou (Heniser) Sutter of Hoagland; a sister, Kathi L. Cole of Hoagland; and six stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Boonville Worship Center, with burial in Maple Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Mildred Lane
VINCENNES — Mildred I. Lane, 87, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Crestview Nursing Home.
She was a member of Community United Methodist Church and a former member of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Paul of Madison, Wis.; and a brother, Jack Albin of Edmonton, Canada.
Her husband, Howard J., died in 1999.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Vincennes Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community United Methodist Church.
Ellis Lynch
WHEATLAND — Ellis L. Lynch, 87, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
He was a member of Wheatland United Methodist Church, Monroe City Masonic Lodge 548, Evansville Scottish Rite, Zorah Shrine, Moose Lodge, Eagles, Elks and Fraternal Order of Police in Washington.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Louise “Easie” (Blackwell); three sisters, Doris Allen of Arkansas and Dorothy Maston and Wilma Ruth Kilps, both of Washington; a brother, Keith of Washington; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheatland United Methodist Church, with burial in Wheatland cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home in Vincennes, with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wheatland United Methodist Church memorial fund.
Christopher Stien
Christopher M. “Ra-ven” Stien, 23, of Evansville, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital from complications of AIDS and hemophilia.
He enjoyed gaming and computers.
Surviving are his mother, Rhonda Stien of Evansville;his father, Michael Curley of New York; and his grandparents, Betty and Johney Massey of Poseyville.
There will be no services.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, at Simpson Meyer Funeral Home.
William Beaven
William Leo Beaven, 75, of Evansville, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of complications of heart disease.
He worked at Whirlpool as a model maker for 45 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joyce; a daughter, Sally Timmons of Evansville; two sons, Michael W. of Los Angeles and James E. of Lafayette, Ind.; two brothers, Thomas R. “Dick” of Newburgh and Howard E. of Fenton, Mo.; and four grandchildren, William Y. and Daniel I. Beaven and Matthew A. and Martha M. Timmons.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the pastoral team officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
William Metz
William D. Metz, 83, of Evansville died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He retired from Keller Crescent after 37 years.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Margaret; two sons, Gary and Kenneth, both of Evansville; three grandsons, Jacob, Joshua, and Joseph Metz; three stepgrandchildren, Billy Paddock, Darla Vote and Ruth Crawford; three great-children; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Wade Butler officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park cemetery.

Victor C. Skelton
Victor C. Skelton, 89, of Evansville died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He retiredin 1973 after 28 years at Inland Container.
He was a 26-year member of Bethel Temple.
Surviving are four sons; Robert, Don, and Steve, all of Evansville, and Gerald Hill of Agra, Okla.; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia C. (Griffith), in 1997.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. R.R. Schwambach officiating, with burial in Little Wabash cemetery in Crossville, Ill.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Esta Elam
PRINCETON — Esta E. (Hedrick) Elam, 98, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Gibson General Hospital. She was a graduate of Paris (Ill.) High School, a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 211, and a member of First Christian Church in Paris.
Surviving are four daughters, Waunita Blauser of Kennesaw, Ga., Esther Sermersheim of Princeton, Ind., Mary Louise McCabe of Belleville, Ill., and Dorothy Harbaugh of Effingham, Ill.; one son, Earl of Rescue, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest H., in 1988.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris Ill., entombment in Edgar cemetery.
Friends may call at the Colvin Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home in Paris.
Robert Ropp
PETERSBURG — Robert “Gus” Ropp, 63, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton of kidney failure.
He retired from Whirlpool and farming.
He was a member of Union Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Whitehouse); a daughter, Susan Zenthofer; a brother, W.F. Pat Ropp of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and a grandson, David Zenthofer.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Hills cemetery.

Evelyn Rall
BICKNELL — Evelyn Joan (Payne) Rall, 69, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Healthcare Osborn Hospital of respiratory failure.
She retired from Desert Samaritan as a health unit coordinator.
Surviving are four daughters, Rosanne Schoeder, Cynthia Howder, Brenda Connors and Susan Rall; six sons, Bill, Michael, David, Francis, Chris, and Jim; five sisters, Carolyn Payne, Ardella Smith, Betty Racey, Zuella Stremming and Ruth Bryant; four brothers, Arthur, Daniel, John, and Wesley Payne; 20 grandchildren; eight grandchildren and her life companion, William Rall Sr.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Thursday, April 5, at Bicknell Church of the Nazarene, graveside services will be Saturday, April 7, at Alton cemetery in Frichton.
