Loraine Gehlhausen
BIRDSEYE - Loraine Mary Gehlhausen, 80, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at her home.
She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Siberia and the Ladies Sodality.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard; a daughter, Deanna Gehlhausen of Evanston; two sons, Ronald of Birdseye and Robert of Huntingburg; four sisters, Rose Ann Altman and Eileen Seidl, both of Ferdinand, Esther Haas of Schnellville and Alvera Graman of St. Meinrad; a brother, Edwin Becher of St. Meinrad; three grandchildren, Kerry, Kendra and Seth Gehlhausen; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
George Watson
BRUCEVILLE - George Kirby Watson, 88, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes.
He retired from Hamilton Glass, was a World War II Army veteran, member of the First Christian Church in Vincennes and life member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Camilla J. (Roseman); and a stepson, Lynn Recker of Bruceville.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park cemetery in Vincennes. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home.
Clara Dunn
LOOGOOTEE - Clara Dunn, 76, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at her home of heart failure.
She was the former owner and operator of several restaurants in the Loogootee area including, the Sandwich Haven and The Arrow Cafe, in Farland C. J.'s and in Montgomery the Farmers Bar.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Georgia Burress of Montgomery; two stepdaughters, Mary Sue McCurry of Bloomington and Nancy York of Galveston, Texas; a stepson, Joe Dunn of Loogootee; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bernie, died in 1990.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Chapel at Barr Township in Daviess County, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Titzer Funeral Home, with a service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's cemetery fund.
Bobbie Neighbors
Bobbie Neighbors, 45, of Dale, Ind., formerly of Evansville, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at the home of his sister, Vicky Litkenhus in Dale, of cancer.
He had worked for Highland Hills Apartments in Evansville and was a 1973 graduate of Heritage Hills High School.
Also surviving are a son, Bobbie of Evansville; a sister, Donna Preston of Evansville; and a brother, Jack of Evansville.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Richardson cemetery near Lincoln City, Ind. Fuller Funeral Home Dale Chapel is handling arrangements.
Memorials and floral arrangements may be sent to the family in Dale.
Robert Padgett
Robert Andrew Padgett, 62, of Evansville, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill., of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
He was a Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia; a sister, Margie Stamey of Indianapolis; and a brother, Harold of Germany.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Simpson Meyer Funeral Home, the Rev. John Enlow officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James Ragland Jr.
James Ragland Jr., 77, of Evansville, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at his home of cancer. He retired in 1989 from Bristol-Myers.
He was a member of the deacons alliance, transportation ministry, Liberty Golden Age Club and for 30 years was chairman of the deacon's board at the Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, James III and Jeffrey, both of Evansville; two sisters, Lois Hockett and Carrie Abston, both of Nashville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Jasmine Ragland; and his fiancee who cared for him, Annette Robinson. His wife, Evelyn, died in 1993.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Liberty Baptist Church, the Rev. Todd Robertson officiating, with entombment in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel.
Donald Rhodes
Donald Eugene Rhodes, 32, of Newark, Ark., formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark., of complications of a heart condition.
Surviving are his mother, Sandra Rhodes of Newark; and a brother, Michael Shane of Arizona.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Willis-Hays Chapel in Batesville, Ark., with burial in Blue Springs cemetery in Newark. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
James Reeves
James F. Reeves, 72, of Washington, Ind., formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Washington Nursing Center of heart failure.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Evansville.
Surviving are his sister, Birdie Radcliff of Clarksville, Tenn.; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no service or visitation at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel. The body will be cremated.
Mac Wilke Jr.
Mac Wilke Jr., 56, of Phoenix, formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at his home of leukemia.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; three daughters, Michea Riddle, Nichole Johnson and Yvette Oates, all of Phoenix; two sons, Bob and John Johnson, both of Phoenix; his mother, Bettye Wilke of Phoenix; a brother, Mike of Phoenix and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Saturday at the Phoenix Community Church. Best Funeral Home in Phoenix is handling arrangements.
Craig Spradley
Craig A. Spradley, 21, of Evansville, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, Ind., of an apparent heart attack.
He worked as an apprentice for Industrial Contractors and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 20. He had worked in the family business, Flo-Tech.
He was a 1998 graduate of North Posey High School and attended Owensville Nazarene Church.
Surviving are his parents, Andy and Chris Spradley of Evansville; a brother, Michael Spradley of Lackland Air Force Base; and his grandparents, Gilbert and Beth Wiehle and George and Norma Spradley.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Thomas F. Webster officiating.

Billy Porter
LYNNVILLE - Billy D. Porter, 66, of Arcadia, Fla., died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at his home of complications of cancer.
He was a tool and die maker, retiring in 1990 from Whirlpool Corp. He worked as a dimpler during the Korean War for Seeger Refrigerator Co.
He was a 1952 graduate of Providence (Ky.) High School and completed his tool and die apprenticeship in 1966, receiving his journeyman's papers from Whirlpool in Evansville.
He was a life member of Amvets Post 60 and a member of the New Life Ministries Church, both in Arcadia.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Bernadean L.; two daughters, Karen L. Hand of Morriston, Fla., and Penny A. Hartz of Port Charlotte, Fla.; his brother, William R. Guinn of Middleton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Ryan LeeAnn Mack, Lynnsey, Zachary A. and Katryna Hartz, Amanda Letcher and Brandon D. Mack; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at New Life Ministries Church in Arcadia, Fla.
Raymond Otto
OAKLAND CITY - Raymond P. Otto, 87, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of a respiratory condition.
He had been a farmer and a carpenter and member of Carpenters Union Local 90.
He was the oldest member at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run.
Surviving are his daughter, Ida Otto of Ferdinand; four sons, Raymond of Marvin, S.D., John J. of Elberfeld, Daniel F. of Oakland City and David P. of Cold Springs, Minn.; and a sister, Bernadette Tempel of St. Meinrad.
His wife, Veronica M., died in 2000 and a son, Theodore A., died in 1954.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and from noon to service time at the church. Stodghill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
