Roy Saltzman
POSEYVILLE - Roy Marvin Saltzman, 80, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at his home.
He was an automotive machinist.
He was a World War II veteran, stationed in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater.
He was a member of the Mount Zion General Baptist Church, American Legion and Wadesville Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are a daughter, Paula J. Downs of Belleville; a sister, Dora Pearl Bowne of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Lisa Harris and Jeff Downs; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Werry Funeral Home Poseyville Chapel, with burial in Old Beech cemetery in New Harmony.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Ruth Fish
Ruth W. Fish, 78, of Evansville, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at her home of lymphoma. She was a claims adjuster at Atlas Van Lines for 27 years and an active member of the Atlas Van Lines Retirement Group.
She was a World War II Navy veteran and was the first woman to volunteer for enlistment in the Kentucky-West Platoon.
She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Toni Pledger of Orange Park, Fla.; a son, William L. of Evansville; two sisters, Nannie Jo Cushman of Henderson and Merle Thompson of Shelburn, Ind.; three grandchildren, Andrea Foster, Jay Pledger and Richard Fish; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ervin L., died in 1988.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Tom Savage officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Paul Schmitz
Paul A. Schmitz, 65, of Evansville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of pancreatic cancer. He was a cer-
tified public accountant. He retired in 1995 as general manager after 20 years with the Big Rivers Electric Co. and had been the assistant controller at Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Co. from 1960 to 1976.
He received his master's degree in business from the University of Evansville. He was a member of St. John's East United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Clara E.; a daughter, Eva E. Schmitz of Evansville; a son, Eric E. of Indianapolis; a sister, Charlotte Charles of Evansville; and two brothers, Charles of Evansville and David of Wadesville, Ind.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's East United Church of Christ, the Rev. Daniel Kincaid officiating, with burial in St. Paul's cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Browning Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.

Mary Kolb
Mary Louise Kolb, 89, of Evansville, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation. She was a 1931 graduate of Newburgh High School.
She was a charter member of St. John's East United Church of Christ and a member of the Elizabeth Circle at the church, member of Epworth Home Demonstration Club, Vanderburgh Farm Bureau and former member of Vanderburgh County Fair board.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty A. Clark of Evansville; a son, Kenneth A. of Evansville; a brother, Glenn Allen of Newburgh; four grandchildren, Carrie Sowa, Christina Evans, Susan Clark and Shelly Farney; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, Wilfred, died in 1960.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's East United Church of Christ, the Rev. Daniel Kincaid officiating, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.

Martha Hulen
Martha Pauline Hulen, 81, of Vincennes, Ind., formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes.
She retired from the Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville and was a member of United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Kathleen Sargent of Bicknell; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and a stepdaughter.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Westlawn cemetery in Farmersburg. Wampler-Shaw Funeral Home in Bicknell is handling arrangements.
Marilyn Allgood
Marilyn Rose (McDaniel) Allgood, 64, of Evansville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of an aneurysm.
She retired in 1991 after 20 years with Helfrich Vending.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Jerome 'Jerry'; two daughters, Patricia Heck and Cheryl Sartore, both of Evansville; two sons, Michael and Larry Jay, both of Evansville; a sister, Delores McKeethen of Evansville; two brothers, Richard of Orange County, Calif., and Paul F. of Chandler, Ind.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.

Bernard Bagwell
Bernard E. Bagwell, 86, of Evansville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his home of cancer. He worked as an electrician and retired in 1979 from Faultless Caster.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He enjoyed genealogy.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Gertrude; two daughters, Jan Schilling of Evansville and Mari Lynn Grey of New York; four grandchildren, Jeff Schilling, Jodi Michel, Tara Borst and Krista Petrowski; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, continuing at 9 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monsignor Maurilius Bilskie and the Rev. John Breidenbach officiating, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery in Mount Carmel, Ill.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 7 p.m.

Lois Nienaber
Lois M. Nienaber, 83, of Newburgh, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She taught for 38 years at Harper Elementary School and was a member of the Indiana Teacher's Association, Newburgh Presbyterian Church and Boonville County Club. She enjoyed golf and gardening.
Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Nienaber of Newburgh; a son, Stephen of Newburgh; a sister, Frances Anderson of Nashville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren, Gus, Sam, Joe, Claire and Leigh. Her husband, Harris, died in 1980.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Newburgh Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Tom Sale officiating, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery.

Hazel Ridener
TELL CITY - Hazel R. Ridener, 71, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare Center. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
She worked for Hoosier Panel in New Albany for 10 years and for two years at Cummins Veneer Factory.
She attended Leavenworth High School and was a member of Sulphur Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are a son, Larry of Tell City; two sisters, Dorothy Traughber and Wilma Davison, both of New Albany; and two grandchildren, Jerra Davis and Kirk Ridener. Her husband, Estil L., died in 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo, with burial in East cemetery in Leavenworth.

Howard Martin
JASPER - Howard A. Martin, 84, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center. He retired after more than 20 years with Uebelor & Son Motor Co.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 673 and its military graveside firing squad.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Jasper Outdoor Recreation Association.
Surviving are his wife, Albertine (Schmitt); two daughters, Jane Chase of Philomath, Ore., and Virginia Shaw of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sons, Howard A. Jr. of Jasper and William of Philomath; three brothers, Jack of Medway, Ohio, James of Windfall and Jay of Kokomo; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview cemetery, with military rites.

Juanita Westenbarger
LOOGOOTEE - Juanita May Westenbarger, 91, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at the Martin County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of Loogootee United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Loogootee Women's Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Greene of Loogootee and Janet Dixon of Hardensburg; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Carl E., died in 1976.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Loogootee Methodist Church, with burial in Goodwill cemetery.
