George Thiery Sr.
TELL CITY - George W. Thiery Sr., 78, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System in Owensboro, Ky., of heart failure.
He was a woodworker.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and a Korean War Army veteran.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are a daughter, Vicky McCoy of Louisa, Ky.; two sons, George Thiery Jr. of Evansville and Roger Thiery of Henderson, Ky.; a sister, Eva Falls of Lamar; a brother, Floyd Thiery of Tell City; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial in St. Augustine Church cemetery in Leopold, with military rites.

William Davidson
William H. 'Bill' Davidson, 68, of Evansville, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Holiday Care Center from complications of diabetes and kidney failure.
He retired from Wal-Mart and had worked in the maintenance department at Kent Plastics for 15 years.
He was a member of House of Prayer Free Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Martha Sue Moyers of Waynesburg, Ohio, Margaret Ann Cook of Salem, Ky., and Catherine Coomer of Mount Vernon, Ind.; two sons, Edward Manus and Hiram Davidson Jr., both of Evansville; three sisters, Imogene Schutt of Evansville, Wanda Huffman of Clemmons, N.C., and Rosa Nell Moses of East Bend, N.C.; a brother, Lyle Davidson of Evansville; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Alfred Lott officiating, with burial in Tupman cemetery.

Helen Bourquin
Helen Featherstone Bourquin, 85, of Evansville, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation.
She was a 1934 graduate of Reitz High School and attended Indiana University.
She was a retired travel agent and had worked in Winter Park, Fla., Nashville, Tenn., and Evansville.
She was a member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy G. Burke of Evansville; a son, Douglas T. King of Evansville; a sister, Marjorie Wettering of Greensburg, Ind.; a grandson, David S. Burke; a stepgrandchild, Dawn M. Jackson; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Douglas W. Heiman officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

Infant Brianna Clayton
Brianna Ruth Clayton, the daughter of Kendra Kemp and Brian Ashley of Evansville, was stillborn Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Also surviving are two sisters, Alexus and Pearline Gail Clayton; her grandmother, Laura Clayton of Evansville; and a great-grandmother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Martha Turnbloom officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mary Oliver
Mary Oliver, 66, of Evansville, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at her home of cancer.
She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.
Surviving are a daughter, Rose Hughes of Evansville; two sons, Edgar A. and Michael L. Oliver, both of Evansville; her mother, Celine Dillman of Evansville; six sisters, Dotty Johnson, Margie Walter, Judy Brunson and Ellen Blesch, all of Evansville, Joanie Brown of Yankeetown, Ind., and Paula Kercher of Lafayette, La.; a grandson, Joshua Lee Hughes; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Oliver, in 1993.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.

Dorothy Hill
Dorothy Mae (Keppel) Hill, 77, of Evansville, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Woodlands Convalescent Center of heart failure.
She was a 47-year member of Evansville United Christian Fellowship Church.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Raymond L. Hill; two sons, Terry L. Hill of Newburgh and Thomas G. Hill of Evansville; three grandchildren, Alan Hill, Lori Wilkerson and Lisa Marie Hill; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Joseph Migliano
Joseph P. Migliano, 81, of Greenwood, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at his home.
He retired as a unit leader from Brylane in 1984 after 26 years.
He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.
He was a member of Greenwood First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Frances (Medcalf) Migliano; two sons, Mike Migliano of Whiteland, Ind., and Tony Migliano of Cloverdale, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Judi Mills of Evansville; a stepson, Mike Wetzel of Haubstadt, Ind.; a brother, Frank Migliano of Fishers, Ind.; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Greenwood First Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, with military rites.

Millard Houchin Jr.
HUNTINGBURG - Millard 'Jay' Houchin Jr., 78, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Deaconess St. Joseph's Hospital of heart failure.
He was a retired truck driver for Best Chairs in Ferdinand and Dolly Madison Industries.
He was a member of Calvary Temple Church.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mabel M. (Eckert) Houchin; a sister, Caroline Bowman of Martinsville; a brother, Orville Houchin of Huntingburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Nass & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmount cemetery.

James Masterson
ROCKPORT - James 'Bat' Masterson, 69, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at his home of cancer.
He was a carpenter.
He was a life member of American Legion Post 258, a member of Local 90 Indiana Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights of Evansville and St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Grace Masterson; three daughters, Angela Kay Hart and Karen Sue Davis, both of Rockport, and Cynthia Gay Cameron of Richland; a son, Thomas Kevin Masterson of Rockport; a sister, Margaret Stateler of Rockport; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill cemetery.

Flora Tower
CANNELTON - Flora (Schmidt) Nix Tower, 93, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at her daughter's home in Evansville.
She retired as a nurse's aid from the Evansville State Hospital in 1973.
She enjoyed flowers, animals and playing the piano.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy (Nix) Lasher and Margaret (Tower) Ingle, both of Evansville; two sons, James Nix of Tell City and Glen Tower of Evansville; six grandchildren, Yvonne Floyd, Lee Ann Lasher, Glen and Jerry Nix, Wanda Hillerman and Margaret Ingle; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Major Tower; and a son, Robert 'Bob' Nix.
Services will be at 1 p.m Sunday at Huber Funeral Home Cannelton Chapel, with burial in St. John's cemetery near Rome.
