Mable Berger
TELL CITY - Mable Fran-ces Berger, 78, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of multiple organ failure.
She was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Schipp of Jasper; two sons, Leo Carlton Berger of Dale and Allen Berger of Ferdinand; a sister, Frieda Cronin of Tell City; six grandchildren, Donna Shemer, Patrick, Kevin and Amy Schipp and Stacy and Scott Berger; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl John Berger, last year.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Pius Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary cemetery in Troy.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

Emma Maikranz
ELBERFELD - Emma G. Maikranz, 78, formerly of Elberfeld, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation of a stroke.
She worked at Deaconess Hospital for eight years.
She was a member of American Legion Post 351 Auxiliary for 50 years and Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving are a son, Michael Maikranz of Mount Vernon; a sister, Ella Jean Wiggers of Evansville; two grandchildren, Lisa Michelle and Kimberly Rae Maikranz; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Maikranz, in 1994.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Simpson Voltman Funeral Home, with burial in Zion cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Dr. Donald Brewster
WINSLOW - Dr. Donald Brewster, 94, formerly of Winslow, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Rockville Nursing Home in Rockville, Md.
He graduated from Georgetown University and practiced dentistry in Washington, D.C., until his retirement.
He was honored as the oldest practicing dentist in Washington.
He was a member of Bethesda Christian Church in Bethesda, Md.
He served in World War II as a commissioned officer in the Pacific Theater.
Surviving are two nieces.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Oak Hill cemetery in Winslow.
There will be no visitation at Curtis Funeral Home.
Robert Riney
WASHINGTON - Robert F. Riney, 74, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of an apparent heart failure.
He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Annette Stroud of Elberfeld; three sons, Gary Riney of Edinburgh, Bob Riney of Vero Beach, Fla., and Don Riney of Loogootee; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial in St. John's cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lee Mortuary, with a rosary service at 6 p.m.
Robert Nichols
VINCENNES - Robert L. Nichols, 76, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was a laborer at Marathon Oil Co. in Robinson, Ind.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4549 and Local Laborers' Union 1280.
Surviving are seven daughters, Rita VanWinkle of Robinson, Joyce Barrick and Bonnie Byrley of Palestine, Ill., Bobbie Nichols of Lawrenceville, Connie Nichols of Crawfordsville, and Mary Jane and Christy Marie Nichols, both of Philpot, Ky.; five sons, Floyd B. Woods of Oklahoma City, Billy Joe and Danny Nichols, both of Robinson, Donnie Eugene Nichols of Hutsonville and Roger Nichols of Flat Rock; 34 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Robinson New cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwine Funeral Home.
Ecil Thorne
PRINCETON - Ecil Thelma (Haskins) Thorne, 100, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Holiday Manor Convalescent Center.
She was a former member of Baldwin Heights Homemakers Club and Faith United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her friend and caretaker, Betty Kays of Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Thorne, in 1960.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in White Church cemetery.
There will be no visitation at Colvin Funeral Home.
Sarah Webber
WASHINGTON - Sarah Margaret (Alford) Webber, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at her home.
She worked at RCA in Bloomington.
She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn Kearns of Easton, Md., Sharon Grannan of Lima, Ohio, Janet McGee of Washington and Donna Hendrick of Cannelburg; a son, Jack Webber of Newburgh; two sisters, Cleo Brochin and Rose Theroff, both of Washington; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eric Webber, in 1964; and a daughter, Shirley Ann Webber, in infancy.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Simon Catholic Church, with burial in St. John's cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lee Mortuary, with a wake service at 4 :30 p.m. Monday.

Rev. Joseph Foreman
The Rev. Joseph C. 'Jay' Foreman, 71, of Reynolds Station, Ky., formerly of Evansville, died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of congestive heart failure.
He was a bi-vocational minister and a mechanic and had worked at Tichenor in Hartford, Ky. His was the first pastor of the Hatfield, Ind., Baptist church and served churches in Indiana and Kentucky. He was a Korean War veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Donna Jeanne; a daughter, Terrie Foreman of Lewisport, Ky.; a son, Stephen of Jeffersontown, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Baptist Church in Reynolds Station, with burial in Fordsville (Ky.) cemetery.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, Ky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kentucky Baptist Children's Home.
Dennis Mounts
NEW HARMONY - Dennis Mounts, 57, of Evansville, formerly of New Harmony, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at his home of complications of diabetes.
He worked in the Evansville city controllers office. He was a 1964 graduate of New Harmony High School and a graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science.
He was listed in Who's Who in Mortuary Science, was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Order of the Arrow, Wood Badge and God and Country. He was a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout and as a Scout leader had led Scouts to Philmont, N.M., and Charles L. Somer's wilderness canoe base.
He was Methodist.
Surviving are a sister, Carol Julian of St. Wendel; a brother, Rick of New Harmony; and a niece.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Norvell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, with burial in Bethsaida cemetery in Stewartsville.
