Sister Imelda Maillette
Sister Imelda Maillette, 93, of Evansville, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Seton Residence.
She joined the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg, Md., in 1925.
She received her secondary education at St. Joseph High School in Emmitsburg and was granted her bachelor's degree in 1953.
She taught at St. Peter's Home in Wilmington, Del., and St. Euphemia's School in Emmitsburg, and was assigned to various other teaching positions at Catholic schools across the country.
She tutored special education children at St. Vincent-Sarah Fisher Home in Farmington Hills, Mich., in 1979 and in 1985, she conducted parish ministry at St. Mary's Parish in Huntingburg, Ind., and continued to tutor children in the religious education program.
In 1995, she was sent to Seton Residence to be part of the Ministry of Prayer.
Surviving are two sisters, Alice Watson of Bay City, Mich., and Marie Gerhard of Saginaw, Mich.; a brother, Fred Maillette of Bay City; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Seton Residence Chapel, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Seton Residence, with a wake service at 6:30 p.m.

Elsie Russell
Elsie M. Russell, 78, of Evansville, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at St. Mary's Riverside of cancer.
She retired as a medical secretary from St. Mary's Medical Center after 20 years.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
She enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ralph E. Russell; a brother, Ivan Doyle Anderson of Elkhart, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Bill Ping officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Paul Schutte
Paul H. Schutte, 70, formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, in Key West, Fla., of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Schutte; three sons, Paul, Mitchell and Alan Schutte; three grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Board of Evansville and Marie Folz of Mount Vernon, Ind.; and three brothers, Albert, Clarence and Joseph Schutte, all of Evansville.
Services are pending.
Marilyn Love
Marilyn Kaye Love, 63, formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore of apparent heart failure.
She was a 1956 graduate of Central High School. She retired last year as a ticket agent for Air Canada after 35 years.
She was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church in Tampa, Fla.
Surviving are her mother, Iva (Hendrix) Love Shelton of Dunedin, Fla.; a sister, Jan (Love) Hoepner of Indianapolis; a brother, Robert Love of Clearwater, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and a friend, Andy Devine of Seminole, Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Wendy McCormick officiating, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Benjamin Rose
Benjamin Stuart Rose, 20, of Newburgh, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at his home. The cause of death is being investigated by the War-rick County coroner's office.
He worked part-time at Don's Cleaners in Newburgh.
He was a 1999 graduate of Castle High School and was an honor student.
He was a full-time student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., where he was a second-semester junior majoring in accounting.
He was active in student government and was also a resident assistant.He was a member of First Christian Church.
He enjoyed church activities, fishing and music.
Surviving are his parents, Sally Rose and Allen Rose, both of Newburgh; his stepparents, Thomas Silliman and Kay Rose, both of Newburgh; two sisters, Laura and Rachel Rose, both of Newburgh; three stepsisters, Abigail Flaherty and Rachel Silliman, both of Newburgh, and Rebecca Silliman of Chicago; a stepbrother, Patrick Flaherty of Tipton, Ind.; his grandparents, Helen and Raymond Onstott of Philpot, Ky., and Helen Rose of Owensboro, Ky.; and a niece and nephew.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Newburgh, the Rev. Mike Claypool officiating, with burial in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Owensboro, Ky.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Alexander Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel and from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

Charles Pickett
Charles Pickett, 73, of Evansville, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of heart complications.
He worked for International Steel and retired from Sears.
He served in the Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Emmaus Community, Evansville Masonic Lodge 64, Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine, and was a 53 year member of St. James East United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marie (Kinney) Pickett; two daughters, Barbara Doty and Debbie Lovell, both of Evansville; a sister, Joyce Martin of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Robert Pickett of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren, Lora Massey, Charles Harrelson, Julie Burris, Anne Nash, David Doty and Randy Lovell; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Revs. Roy Ice and Robb Massey officiating, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m.

James Simpson
James E. Simpson, 72, of Newburgh, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at the IHS Central Park Village in Orlando, Fla., of cancer.
He retired from Selby Steel as a maintenance supervisor in 1988 after 20 years.
He was a member of the Christian faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Nanettea Hazelip of Evansville; a son, Rick Simpson of Evansville; two stepdaughters, Laura Black of San Antonio and Pam Lopez of Orlando; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte R. (Campbell) Simpson, in 1997.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

James Fehrenbacher
James E. Fehrenbacher, 85, of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of apparent heart failure.
He worked at Servel for 24 years and for Arkla Industries for 22 years before retiring.
He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran.
He was a member of the Darmstadt Retirees Club, the Arkla Retirees, St. Joe Men's Club, Knights of St. John 355, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114, American Legion Funkhouser Post 8, the Owls and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Avila E. (Hoefling) Fehrenbacher; two daughters, Susie Gardner and Sherri Adler, both of Evansville; three sons, Jim, Glen 'Frog' and Randy Fehrenbacher, all of Evansville; five sisters, Catherine Miller, Iona Deig and Marian Ellsperman, all of Evansville, Edna Gish of Henderson, Ky., and Rosie Hartman of St. Louis; two brothers, Raymond Fehrenbacher of St. Louis and Wilbur Fehrenbacher of Evansville; nine grandchildren, Eric, Kammy, Jamie, Renee and Paula Fehrenbacher, Josh and Brooke Barron and Danny and Adam Adler; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Pierre Funeral Home.
