Clifford Scarbrough
Clifford Scarbrough, 60, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He worked in mechanical maintenance for 31 years with DSM Engineering Plastics, formerly Wilson Fiberfil Inc.
He attended the Free Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Patricia; four daughters, Debbie Meredith of Tennyson, Ind., and Tammy Pressley, Angie Stephens and Betty Eades, all of Evansville; a son, David of Evansville; two sisters, Frances Pfingston of Evansville and Rosie Ramsey of Rockport, Ind.; four brothers, Ronnie and Eugene “Gene, ” both of Newburgh, and Alfred and John, both of Evansville; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Revs. Allan Meinschein and Gary Meredith officiating, with burial in Bates Hill cemetery near Yankeetown.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kenneth DeMotte Sr.
JASPER — Kenneth W. DeMotte Sr., 28, of French Lick formerly of Otwell, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, of injuries in a one-vehicle accident in
Dubois County near Jasper.
He worked at Arby’s Restaurant in Jasper.
Surviving are a daughter, Aerial Nykol DeMotte of French Lick; a son, Kenneth Wayne Jr. of French Lick; his parents, Lloyd and Sheila DeMotte of Otwell; a sister, Samantha DeMotte of Otwell; a brother, Donnie of Otwell; and his grandmother, Ann Mae DeMotte.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel, with burial in Otwell cemetery.

Elizabeth McClure
BICKNELL — Elizabeth “Betty” McClure, 96, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. Her husband, Noland, died in 1994.
Services will be at 9 a.m. EST Saturday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, with burial in Oaktown cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McClure Funeral Home, with a prayer vigil at 6:30 p.m.

Mary Dauby
TELL CITY — Mary Josephine Dauby, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Lasher of rural Tell City; four sons, Larry of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Charles Jr., David and Tim, all of rural Tell City; two sisters, Amy Gerlach and Clara Peter, both of Tell City; two brothers, Frank and Leonard Claise, both of Tell City; 15 grandchildren, Jerri, Vanessa, Glen, Rob, Micki, Amber and Jessica Dauby, Brandi Gayer, Theresa Olberding, Michelle Galey and Julie, Tom Jr., Chris, Sara and Mary Lasher; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles W., in May, a daughter, Cheryl Dauby, and a son, Phillip.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Saturday at St. Isidore Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery in Bristow.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 8 p.m., and from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Denola Pollard
BRANCHVILLE — Denola Mildred Pollard, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She had worked at General Electric in Tell City.
Surviving are a sister, Olive Goldman of Jeffersonville; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, James Newton Pollard, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, with burial in Walker cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Clinton Chumbley
BOONVILLE — Clinton “Tom” Chumbley, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at St. Mary’s Warrick of respiratory failure.
He retired from Peabody Coal Co. and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 200.
Surviving are five daughters, Henrietta Kissel of Ijmasville, Md., Vickie Murray of Tomball, Texas, Nancy Jo Scales of Newburgh, Ginger Vailes of Kuttawa, Ky., and Patty Blanton of Washington Court House, Ohio; two sons, Tommy of Indianapolis and Henry II of Evansville; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Maple Grove cemetery, with military rites.

Bertha Beebe
HUNTINGBURG — Bertha A. Spencer Beebe, 87, of New Albany, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
She retired from the M.Fine & Sons Co. in New Albany and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband, Harold T. Sr.; a son, Harold T. Jr. of New Albany; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany, with burial in Fairmont cemetery in Huntingburg at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.

Roger Krieg
HUNTINGBURG — Roger L. Krieg, 61, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Deaconess St. Joseph’s Hospital of a heart attack.
He worked at Best Chairs.
Surviving are his wife, Verna (Thewes); a daughter, Kara Webbeler of Huntingburg; his mother, Leola Krieg of Huntingburg; four sisters, Elizabeth Simmers and Donna Temple, both of Jasper, Pat Graman of Evansville and Priscilla Sue Powell of French Lick; three brothers, Norman of Jasper, David of Huntingburg and Mike of Velpen; and a grandson, Brayden Webbeler.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at Nass & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmount cemetery.

Evelyn Hewins
Evelyn (Smith) Hewins, 78, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation of respiratory failure.
She was a former member of the Evansville Country Club, Women’s Golf Association and had attended Methodist Temple.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Elvin H.; a daughter, Martha T. Schriver of Glencoe, Ill.; three sons, Brian H. of San Marino, Calif., Daniel F. of Evansville and William C. of Sudbury, Mass.; a brother, Al Smith of Crown Point, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Larsen, Julie Leroux, Charles, John, Dan and Sarah Hewins, Emily Moon and John Schriver; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be private, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery. Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Esther Musgrave
Esther Musgrave, 78, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of congestive heart failure. She had
been a waitress for the Central Turners and was a member of the Eagles County Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Bennett and Kandy Martin, both of Newburgh; four half sisters; a half brother; two grandchildren, Greg and Eric Bennett; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Robert, died in 1982.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Tim Judd officiating, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.

James Bell
James “Mickey” Bell, 66, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis of pancreatic disease.
He retired from Pearl Cleaners and had worked for Bootz Manufacturing and Sam’s Cleaners.
He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended the Arena of Faith Church.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Ada; five daughters, Eve, Tina and Lena Bell, all of Evansville, Diana Washington of Louisville, Ky., and Wanda Bell of Washington, D.C.; a stepdaughter, Ann Howard of Evansville; three sons, Tony, Robert and James, all of Evansville; a stepson, James Payne of Evansville; a sister, Juanita Harris of Evansville; a brother, Lonnie of Evansville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Arena of Faith Church, the Rev. Earl Carter officiating, burial pending.
