Mary Lewis
Mary Marcella Lewis, 78, of Newburgh, formerly of Crooksville, Ohio, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of a heart attack.
She was a lifetime member of Church of Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, James Maynard; a daughter, Marcia Schoeppner of Newburgh; three granddaughters, Wendy, Bonnie and Amy; a sister, Madonna Argood of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers, Lawrence Kellenbarger of Newark, Ohio, John Kellenbarger of Eaton, Ohio, and Robert Kellenbarger of LaBelle, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of the Atonement, the Rev. Frank Stanton officiating, with burial in New Lexington cemetery in New Lexington, Ohio.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Goebel Funeral Home in Crooksville, with a wake service at 4:30 p.m.
Karl Kleeman
JASPER — Karl C. “Shorty” Kleeman, 83, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Jasper Memorial Hospital. He was a factory worker.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 673. He was one of the founders of Professional Porch Sitters of America.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; two daughters, Linda Bieker of Celestine and Nancy Hedinger of Goose Creek, S.C.; three sons, Bud of Jasper, Bob of Santa Claus and Mike of Fairfield, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen, and three infant sons, Jimmy, Larry and Ricky.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Becher & Kluesner Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Earl Strickland
MACKEY — Earl C. Strickland, 87, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at his home. He had been a farmer, carpenter and coal miner.
He was a member of Mackey Church of the Nazarene.
He was a member of Gibson County Soil and Water Conservation District, Barton Township School Holding Corp. and trustee of Townsley cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Ethel (Ahlemann); seven daughters, Ruth Ringham of Lynnville, Joyce Parke of Evansville, Marilyn Ireland of Elberfeld, Vonda Miles of Mooresville, Connie Barr of Mackey, Norma Miller of Somerville and Bonnie Lundeen of Clearwater, Fla.; four sons, Robert of Somerville and Don, Lloyd and Dennis, all of Mackey; a sister, Denzel Brown of Mackey; a brother, Marvin of Mackey; 43 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry, in 1985 and Norman, in 1987.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mackey Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Townsley cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, and from 8 a.m. to service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Townsley cemetery Permanent Care Fund or the church building fund.
Hugh Freeman
CANNELTON — Hugh G. Freeman, 79, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Beverly Health Care in Tell City of heart failure.
He retired as a truck driver in 1982 after 30 years with the former Can-Tex Industries.
Surviving are two daughters, Etta Jean Glenn of Evanston and Barbara Gaynor of Cannelton; a sister, Cora Wiseman of Cannelton; five grandchildren, Robert Glenn and Katie, Jason, Jarrod and Caelum Gaynor; and three great-grandchildren.
His wife, Frances (Huff), died in 1987.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home Cannelton Chapel, with burial in New Cliff cemetery.

Kathleen Prusz
DALE — Kathleen (Bootz) Prusz, 70, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Deaconess St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg of complications of rheumatoid arthritis.
She had worked as an instructor for General Electric Co. in Huntingburg and Tell City.
She was a 1947 graduate of Huntingburg High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale and had served as choir director for her church and for St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntingburg.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence; two daughters, Kathy Himes and Julie Payne, both of Indianapolis; three sons, Steve of Houston, Larry of Columbus, Ohio, and Lt. Col. Michael Prusz of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Dave Junge of Huntingburg; 11 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. CST Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in St. James Lutheran Church cemetery East in Holland.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. CST Monday at Fuller Funeral Home Dale Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Sharon Bohler
PRINCETON — Sharon S. Bohler, 67, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Gibson General Hospital of a stroke.
She had been a nurse’s aide at Holiday Manor for 20 years and played the piano for several bands and orchestras in the area.
She was a 1951 graduate of Princeton High School.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving is an aunt, Wilma Stone of Princeton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Warnock cemetery.

William Pryor
William “Don” Pryor, 66, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of a heart attack.
He retired in 1995 as a service technician after 43 years with the Coca Cola Co. He baked wedding and birthday cakes.
He was an Army veteran.
He was a member of the Howell General Baptist Church, R Men’s Honor Roll and former member of the West Side Nut Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Wurth of Evansville; a son, Jeff of Evansville; a brother, Oscar of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a granddaughter, Shawna Pryor; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating.

Inez Mitchell
Inez F. Mitchell, 85, of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She retired from real estate sales.
She was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ and formerly lived in Willow Park Retirement Residence.
Surviving are two sons, Don of Ottawa, Canada, and James of San Francisco; a brother, Clarence Getman of Louisville, Ky.; and a granddaughter, Wendy Mitchell.
Her husband, Arthur “Mike, ” died in 1991.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Thomas Kelso officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

Leo Green
Leo W. Green, 84, of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Wood Bridge Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He retired from the Busler Oil Co. and had owned and operated nursing homes in Mount Vernon, Ind., and New Harmony, Ind., in the 1960s.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving on the USS LSM 296.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Posey County.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Alma; two daughters, Madonna Green of Oakland City, Ind., and Beverly K. Strickland of Mackey, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Phylis Colucci of Inverness, Fla., and Mary Joe Chamberlain of Fruitland Park, Fla.; a son, Robert W. of Mount Vernon; a stepson, William Allman of Albany, Ga.; a sister, Edith Olleman of Avon, Ind.; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, the Rev. Bill Reed officiating, with burial in Bellefontaine cemetery in Mount Vernon, Ind.

Inna Tanner
Inna M. Tanner, 96, of Newburgh, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center.
She had worked at Servel Inc. and was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church and Eastern Star 32.
Surviving are a grandchild, Winona Goldman; two great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Areta Morgan. Her husband, John K., died in 1982 and a son, Raymond Morgan, died in 1995.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
