Alfred Owen
NEW HARMONY — Alfred Marion Owen, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at New Harmonie Healthcare Center.
He owned and operated Owens Market and Owens Variety Store for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Johnson United Methodist Church, charter member of the American Legion Post 370 and former member of the Kiwanis.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Elizabeth; a daughter, Virginia Huff of New Harmony; a sister, Helen Oeth of Evansville; two grandsons, Jim and Bill Huff; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 pm. Thursday at Werry Funeral Home New Harmony Chapel, with burial in Maple Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Clem Dismore
Clem R. Dismore, 86, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Home.
He retired in 1976 after 31 years as a civil engineer with U.S. Corp of Engineers.
He was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the USS Teton and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2953.
He was a charter member of St. John’s United Church of Christ East and a Mason.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Marilyn; two daughters, Linda Ross of Hermitage, Tenn., and Willa Jean Allen of Strawberry, Ark.; two stepsons, Stephen Nellis of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Gene Nellis of Henderson, Ky.; five grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Daniel Kincaid officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park, with military rites.
Friends may call from 1 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ or Good Samaritan Auxiliary.
Infant Jaeden Eapmon
Jaeden Shaun Eapmon, infant son of Amanda Michelle Eapmon of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Samuel C. Eapmon and Terry and Diane M. Buchta; and great-grandparents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Spencer R. Downs officiating, with burial in the cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time at the chapel.

Thomas Young
Thomas Evans Young, 55, of Port Charlotte, Fla., son of Dr. and Mrs. C. Curtis Young Jr. of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
He was a manager for the Old Navy store in Port Charlotte.
He was a graduate of the University of Evansville and a member of SAE Fraternity.
Also surviving are his wife of seven years, Katherine; two stepchildren; a sister, Susan Hardwick of Mary Esther, Fla; and a brother, Cy Young III of Belize, Central America.
Arrangments are pending in Florida. Alexander East Chapel is handling local arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Women’s Hospital in care of Deaconess Hospital.
Willa Collins
Willa Mary (Shamell) Collins, 86, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ, which she helped found with her late husband of 62 years, the Rev. Stewart Collins, who died in 1993. She was a licensed missionary in the church for over 40 years.
In 1984, she was named one of Evansville’s Black Women of the Year for her accomplishments and contributions to the community. The award citation noted her work in her church, her devotion to her seven children and the fact that they are all college graduates.
Surviving are three daughters, Addie Collins Johnson of Sharon, Mass., Gail Collins Williams of Irvington, N.Y., and Dr. Brenda S. Collins of Bethesda, Md.; four sons, Dr. Keith E. Collins of Orange County, Calif., Wayne T. of Alexandria, Va., and Stewart E. and Stephen M., both of Evansville; five grandchildren, Parker Collins Johnson, Jennifer Shamell Collins, Eric Collins and Lauren Anne and Kristen Leigh Williams; two great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Watkins Temple Church of God in Christ, elder Timothy Baker officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, with a wake service from 7 to 9 p.m. at Watkins Temple Church of God in Christ.

Dellia Burden
Dellia Joyce (Sizemore) Burden, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of heart failure.
She had worked at Great Scot as a food demonstrator and at Buehler’s Buy Low, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Mill Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Millerd R.; three sons, William Hogan of Florence, Ky., Alvie of Evansville and Jeff of Columbus, Ga.; a sister, Delores Bourland; a brother, Donald Sizemore; six grandchildren, Valorie Kopp, Lea Riddle, Brett Hogan and Emily, Stephanie and Alexander Burden; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mill Road Baptist Church, the Rev. Bill Kellough officiating, with burial in Locust Hill cemetery.

Doris Clements
LOOGOOTEE — Doris Clements, 101, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Martin County Care and Rehab Center.
She was a graduate of St. John High School and attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a charter member of Tri Kappa Sorority and the Golden Years Club. She was an accomplished local artist.
Surviving are a son, Richard of Loogootee; a sister, Dorothy Wolfe of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Kathy Howell and John Clements; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Chester, died in 1982.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Titzer Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 6 p.m.
Hilbert George
TELL CITY — Hilbert J. George, 81, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at his home.
He retired from Tell City Chair Co. in 1983.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 and American Legion Post 213.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Floyd of Tell City; two sons, Jerry and Gary, both of Tell City; a sister, Alberta Karney of Chicago; nine grandchildren, Lisa, Jessica, Vanessa, Nathan and Steven George, Jeff and Jason Cronin, Julie Collins and Jeremy Wheeler; and six great-grandchildren.
His wife, Dolores (Ruetter), died in 1999.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood cemetery, with military rites.

John Weiss Jr.
TELL CITY — John W. Weiss Jr., 75, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at his home. He had a series of strokes.
He retired from Tell City Chair Company after 43 years.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of American Legion Post 213.
He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Verlee; a daughter, Donna Blandford of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sons, Randall and Kevin, both of Troy; a sister, Juanita Mulzer of Tell City; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood cemetery, with military rites.

Timothy Fernow
TELL CITY — Timothy Joe Fernow, 42, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, of injuries suffered in an automobile accicent.
He was an operator for Southern CO-OP in Chrisney.
Surviving are a son, Danny of Shelbyville, Ky.; his father, Albert of Tell City; two sisters, Sandra K. Sanchez of Owensboro, Ky., and Lee Ann Lindauer of Tell City; and a brother, Mark of Fulda.
Services and burial will be private.
There will be no visitation at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
