Donald Davidson
HUNTINGBURG — Donald G. Davidson, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at his home of complications of diabetes.
He retired from the Jasper Desk Co. and was also a roofer.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Lee; three daughters, Debbie, Lisa and Teresa Davidson, all of Evansville; two stepdaughters, Janice Marie Rickelhoff of Washington, D.C.; and Vella Davidson of Tennessee; a stepson, Ricky of Evansville; three sisters, Imogene Shutt of Evansville, Wanda Lee Huffman and Rosenell Moses., both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and three brothers, Hairm and Lyle Davidson and Albert Green, all of Evansville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Saturday at Nass & Son Funeral Home, with burial in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Lula Woodruff
ROCKPORT — Lula Garvin Woodruff, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Leasure Years in Owensboro, Ky.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Light Shares Sunday school class.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances Hedges of Owensboro and Elizabeth Chamberlain of Parrish, Fla.; a son, Melvin of Owensboro; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, W. Frank, died in 1990.
Services will be at 1 p.m, . Saturday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Shiloh cemetery.

Michael Harbison
ELBERFELD — Michael E. Harbison, 54, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of a heart attack. He had been Elberfeld’s town marshal.
He was a member of American Legion, Lynnville Masonic Lodge and Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving are four daughters, Angela Harbison of Elberfeld, Allyssa Harbison of Somerville, LeeAnn Harbison of Indianapolis and Denise Adams of Boonville; three sons, Andrew, Anthony and Aaron, all of Elberfeld; his mother, Lois Harbison of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Linda Love of North Dakota, Brenda Brimmer of North Carolina, and Lisa White of Elberfeld; his grandmother, Beatrice Hunt of Washington; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Volkman Funeral Home, with burial in Northview cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm. Saturday at the funeral home.
Lillian Boyle
CHANDLER — Lillian L. Boyle, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at The Pavilion in Forest Park, Ill.
She taught elementary school in Chandler for 40 years. She was a member of the Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church, former member of Eastern Star and the Business and Professional Woman’s Club and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Boonville.
In 1988, the new library in Chandler was dedicated and named the Eugene & Lillian Boyle Library.
Surviving are a daughter, Deanna Nightengale of Oak Park, Ill.; three grandchildren, Emily, Mark and Jane Nightengale; and her son-in-law who cared for her, Brian Nightengale. Her husband, C. Eugene, died in 1995.
Services will be at 10 a.m Saturday at the Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
Jerrie Houston Sr.
FOLSOMVILLE — Jerrie E. Houston Sr., 70, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Southwind Nursing Home in Boonville of cancer.
He was a millwright working out of Local 1693 in Chicago. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of American Legion in Waukegan, Ill.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Jerri Lou; a daughter, Valarie Smith of Richland City; three sons, Jerrie E. Jr. of Evansville, Larry of Reddick, Ill., and Dana of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; two stepsons, Tony Huffman of Folsomville and Troy Huffman of Boonville; two sisters, Maxita Stephens and Kay Crowe, both of Boonville; five brothers, Bob of Union Grove, N.C., Donald of Evansville, Darryl of Marietta, Ga., Jimmy of Brandon, Fla., and Danny of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Crystal, Donnie, Larry, Michelle and Mary Elizabeth Houston and Heath and Mark Bulich; three stepgrandchildren, Richard, Clinton and Tyler Huffman;and two great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Mary Gorden Dreghorn, died in 1976.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Bethabara cemetery, with military rites.

Eldon Smith
BOON-VILLE — Eldon D. Smith, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at his home of respiratory failure. He retired in 1983 as the owner
of Rema Supply Co. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was a charter member of the Boonville Airport board and member of All Seasons Camping Club.Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Imogene; a daughter, Debbie Westbrook of Raleigh, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Judi Shelton of Boonville; a son, Ron of Powder Springs, Ga.; a stepson, Jon Robertson of Boonville; a sister, Myrtle Newman of Jackson, Tenn.; a brother, Bruce of Marshallberg, N.C.; five grandchildren, Kara and Michael Smith, Jennifer Donahoo, Tonya Thorson and Tracy Westbrook; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bradley Colonial Chapel, with burial in Maple Grove cemetery.

Ethel Peppiatt
CHANDLER — Ethel “Pat” Peppiatt, 78, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of a stroke. She retired from George Koch Sons.
She was a member of the Chandler United Methodist Church and attended the Chandler and Newburgh Methodist churches. She was treasurer of the Mary Mixers Sunday school class. She was a member of the Newburgh Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Bill of Newburgh and Bob of Indianapolis; two sisters, Georgia Dye of Lexington, Ky., and Dora Williams of Newburgh; a brother, Jack Petty of Bicknell; four grandchildren, Kelly Adkins, Holly Arnold and Andrea and
Suzanne Peppiatt; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 49 years, Joseph W., died in 1992.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel, with a 10:30 a.m. Eastern Star memorial service, burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Newburgh.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Irene Werne
FERDINAND — Irene M. Werne, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Surviving are four daughters, Lavona Suiter of Valparaiso, Linda Dagartzikas of St. Louis, Gloria Rogers of Evansville and Maxine Rizzo of Arvado, Colo.; two sons, David and Lee, both of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Edwin, and a son, Clifford, preceded her in death.
Services were in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mary Kissinger
Mary Evelyn Kissinger, 83, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting and crocheting.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Clarence F.; two daughters, Janice Marie Jeffries of Evansville and Glenda M. Houchin of Newburgh; four sons, Clarence A., Kenneth L. and G. Michael, all of Evansville, and Larry J. of Mount Vernon, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home West Chapel, with burial in Tupman cemetery.

Raymond Tobey
Raymond Elliot Tobey, 94, formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at the Mark Wentworth Home in Portsmouth, N.H.
He had worked in Evansville for the Seeger Corp. He helped design and manufacture the frost free refrigerator and holds about 25 patents for various refrigeration and air conditioning products. He retired in 1970.
He was a 1927 graduate of the University of Maine and received his master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
He was a member of and had written articles for the Boston and Maine Historical Society and was a member of Kittery (Maine) Historical Society and Evansville East Side Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mabel (Garton); a daughter, Ellen Dittmer of Fillmore, Ind.; a son, Eldon of East Longmeadow, Maine; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson-Cooper Funeral Home in Kittery, with burial in the Baptist cemetery at Kittery Point.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seacoast Hospice in Exeter, N.H.
Opal Pfingston
Opal (Willis) Pfingston, 91, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Wellington Parc in Owensboro, Ky.
She retired from Faultless Caster and was a member of the Nazarene Church. She enjoyed fishing and camping.
Surviving are a stepdaughter of Florida; two stepsons of Florida; two brothers, Harvey and Forrest Willis, both of Livermore, Ky.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Roy A. Sr., and a son, LaVerne “Bunky, ” preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro, Ky., with burial in Calhoun (Ky.) cemetery.
