Everett Zimmerman
Everett F. “Bud” Zimmerman, 79, of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center of complications of cancer.
He founded and had operated Zimmerman & Sons Excavation.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Daylight, Ind., and the Knights of Columbus in Haubstadt, Ind., for more than 50 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn Mason of Evansville, Joyce Zirklebach of Enfield, Ill., and Margie Nord of Dale, Ind.; five sons, William and Russell, both of Evansville, Randy of Haubstadt, Gary of Parrish, Fla., and Paul of Bradenton, Fla.; five sisters, Mildred Daugherty, Betty Kiegel, Edna Morris, Mayta Belle Offerman and Helen Sandefur, all of Evansville; a brother, Marvin of Evansville; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His wife, Jeanette Elizabeth, died in 1995.
Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Daylight, Ind., the Rev. Robert Deig officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National World War II Memorial Fund, American Battle Monuments Commission.
Velda Jones
Velda E. (Leavell) Jones, 78, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of a heart attack.
She retired in 1983 from Mackey Cafeteria at Whirlpool and had worked at Mac’s Barbeque.
She was a member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Jo Petty of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Wanda Lee Smith of Evansville; four grandchildren, Devon Petty, Jodi Kendrick and Adam and Ross Smith; and a great-grandchild. Her husband, Emil L., died in 1999.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Randy L. Anderson officiating, with entombment in Park Lawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leaterice Fields
Leaterice “Joy” Fields, 76, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at St. Mary Health Care Services/Welborn Campus of cancer.
She was a seamstress and had worked at Strouse’s and DeJong’s in alterations. She was a member and sang in the choir at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Robert; a daughter, Terri Elpers of Evansville; two sons, Richard and Jeffrey, both of Evansville; a sister, Helen Cox of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Houchin of Winslow, Ind.; four grandchildren, Kevin and Lisa Elpers and Stephanie and Suzan Fields.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home, continuing at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, the pastoral team officiating, with entombment in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 7 p.m.

Anna Knight
Anna M. (Whitt) Knight, 73, of Evansville, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at her home of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
She had worked in the pharmacy in the old St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a 50-year member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Daniel W.; a daughter, Royanna Tabb of Evansville; two sons, David Ezell and his wife, Peggy, of Evansville who cared for him and Ricky Russell of Evansville; a foster son, Melvin Locke of Evansville; five grandchildren, Valerie Stepro, Bradley and LaDonna Russell, Gregory Tabb and Daniel Ezell; stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, Sister Darlene Boyd officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
James Burk
James P. Burk, 78, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer. He retired after 42 years with the CSX Railroad.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving three years in Iran in the the Persian Gulf Command with a railroad shop battalion.
He attended McCalley Military School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Martha (Cummins); two daughters, Becky Schenck of Indianapolis and Gretchen Dunn of Evansville; a son, James Stanley of Sumter, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Aaron Burk, Jim, Scott, Andy and Julie Schenck and Jason and Alison Dunn; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, the Revs. Aaron Burk and Donald Moore officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. to service time.

Billie Deming
Billie Don Deming, 43, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at North Park Nursing Home. The cause of death is being inves-
tigated by the Vanderburgh County coroner’s office.
He had been the assistant manager at Wendy’s restaurant.
He was a 1975 graduate of North High School and he was Baptist.
Surviving are a son, Tate of Chandler, Ind.; a stepson, Heath Houseman of Chandler; five sisters, Jenny Kincaid of Memphis, Tenn., Joyce Deming, Cathy Wilson and Cindy Rosser, all of Evansville, and Julie Harris of Bloomington, Minn.; a brother, Jamie of Maricoph, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are pending at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel.
Allison Weyer
Allison Katherine Weyer, 1-year-old daughter of Tony and Debra Weyer of Evansville, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Dea-
coness Hospital. Her death is being investigated by the Vanderburgh County coroner’s office.
Also surviving is a sister, Ashley Taylor Weyer at home; and grandparents, Delores King, Patty Weyer and Richard Arvin.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Browning Funeral Home, Terry Gamblin officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Lorene Oing
HAUBSTADT — Lorene M. Oing, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Regina Continuing Care Center in Evansville.
She retired from the Social Security Administration. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Eleanor Hisker of Indianapolis and Alvina Reuber of Evansville; three brothers, Edwin of Evansville and Cletus and Melvin, both of Fort Branch; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary service at 7:45 p.m., at Wade Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Patsy Jones
BICKNELL — Patsy Ruth Jones, 69, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes of an apparent heart attack.
She worked for RCA in Bloomington for 30 years. She was a member of Bicknell First Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Sue Jones of Bicknell; a son, Leland Ray of Freelandville; a sister, Suetta Elkins of St. Mary of the Wood; two brothers, Donald Bowers of Bicknell and Harley Bowers of Rock Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Leland, died in 1999.
McClure Funeral Home handled arrangements, there will be no visitation.
Clifford Ledbetter
SOMERVILLE — Clifford Ledbetter, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. He
retired in 1983 from Ford as a tool room machinist. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
Surviving are a son, Michael of New Palestine; three grandchildren, Tammy Loyd and Robert and David Ledbetter; and four great-grandchildren.
His wife, Virginia L. (Martin), died in 1994.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Somerville cemetery.

Anna Hahn
ELBERFELD — Anna M. Hahn, 95, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Bremerton (Wash.) Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She had worked as a grocery store clerk in Elberfeld and was a member of the Blue Grass Senior Center and Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving are a son, Fred Jr. of Port Orchard, Wash.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, Fred Sr., died in 1981.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ, with burial in Zion cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Simpson Volkman Funeral Home.
